I was put on a bus with teenagers aging 15-19. They were shouting and screaming the entire way n throwing water at each other. Me and my sister got soaked wet. And when I asked them to stop they called me “LOCA” and almost got physical with me with the bus driver watching. At the hostel, I couldn’t sleep for 3 consecutive nights because of how noisy they were. I spoke to the bus driver and he just dismissed me. His excuse was it’s communal living and I had to put up with the drunk screams till 3 am every night. The tour at the safari was meant to be one hour and ended as a 45 min tour of seeing nothing. The bus driver kept on pushing and embarrassing us to buy food and drinks that we didn’t need from the restaurants and cafes to get his commission which made us extremely uncomfortable. The hostel was dirty. The entire experience unpleasant if u r anything above 30, it’s not the right place for u. When we came back, we complained to the office on long street. Again, they were dismissive and didn’t even bother to apologize.

Went on the 6 day tour as a solo traveller, was a but worried at first but as it turned out I wasn't the only one in the group. Everyone was really friendly and our guide Lourens did a great job of helping us learn about SA and it's culture and also taught us a lot about the animals there. Food was very good and the places we stayed were lovely. Everyone we encountered was very friendly and I would definitely recommend the tour for value for money. Bungee jumping, surfing on Jefrees bay and Addo safari were definitely highlights.

We had a great time and have seen many interesting things during our trip! Although I think I would rather take 4 day trip in this particular time, as february is not the whales season in Hermanous, so I could skip that day 😉 however the town itself was really cute! We traveled with Lourens and he was super cool- we really enjoyed our time with him as a guide!🤩👏

Abseiling on Table Mountain was an adrenaline rush with amazing views. Though some people choose to hike the mountain, we opted to take the cable car to the summit, which afforded amazing views and an expedited trip (we had also climbed Lion's Head that morning and were in no shape to climb mountain #2). We lucked out and did not face any lines for the cable car experience, but we showed up an hour before our reservation time just in case. When we were on the way down the mountain the line was massive, so I think we made the right decision. the scariest part of abseiling was the walk from the top of the mountain to clip yourself into the abseiling equipment. It is quite intimidating given the incredible height, sheer cliffs, and the fact that you've not yet gotten comfortable with the safety harnesses yet. Once you're all strapped in, they give an in-depth safety overview and review next steps. The entire team was professional and supportive. As someone afraid of heights, I greatly appreciated this. Once you get going down the mountain, the experience is really quite fun! We also bungee jumped on this trip and I found abseiling to be far more enjoyable. I've seen reviews that note the hike back up to the top of the mountain is pleasant; for those who are hiking/climbing novices note that there are a few scrambles and it takes some time to get back up to the top. It's a short hike but of moderate difficulty.

We went on the ten day tour in august, our guide was Lourens. We did a lot of things, so pardon me if I don’t mention them all. The first day we went to Hermanus to spot some whales, unfortunately, we didn’t see any that day. Each day of the trip we looked outside the car windows trying to spot some of these extraordinary creatures. We almost gave up hope, but suddenly Lourens spotted some people with binoculars. He stopped the car (safefully) and turned around. Thanks to him we did not only see one whale, but two (a mommy and her baby), it made our whole trip even more unforgettable. You could tell Lourens loves animals very much (he even stopped the car once to save a little tortoise) and got excited each time when we spotted an animal (I think giraffes are his favourites). We also took the safari tour (Addo National Park) with a park guide and then again with Lourens. A good decision, because he is very well informed. We were very well taking care of, my friend and I are both vegetarians and this was never a problem. More so, we enjoyed some very good home cooked meals at our homestay at Sedgefield. I was three months pregnant during the trip (with twins!), so I could not participate all activities. There were some great alternatives though; whilst my friends went zip lining, I took an amazing walk through the zip ling parcours (and I could watch my friends screaming and sliding down.) Obviously I could not do the bungee jump, but I went on the bridge as a cheerleader to encourage my friends. That made me feel part of the group (and I will never forget their scared faces). Although we did a lot of activities including canoeing and a breath taking hike in Tsitsikamma Park, we also spend a lot of time in the car (it was a ten day trip in a large aria after all). Luckily this was never an issue because Lourens kept entertaining us during the car rides. He even made a playlist of our favourite songs and the songs of other travellers, nice of him to show interest in other people’s music taste (although he had an interesting taste of his own). We felt safe and entertained during the whole trip. Heads up for Lourens and his team! Hope you all stay safe during the corona crisis. Lots of love, Marie ( + Lola & Kiki)
