I had the incredible opportunity to rent a motorcycle from GS Africa EagleRider SA, and it was nothing short of amazing. The team was professional, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed for the journey. The bikes were in excellent condition, and you could tell they take great pride in maintaining their fleet.

Exploring South Africa on two wheels was a dream come true. The scenic routes, diverse landscapes, and the freedom of the open road made for an unforgettable adventure. Whether you're into solo rides or group tours, GS Africa EagleRider SA has you covered.

I can't recommend them enough to fellow motorcycle enthusiasts looking for a top-notch rental experience in South Africa. I'll definitely be back for another ride soon!

This was such a great experience from start to finish. GS Africa were very local to where I was staying so I didn't consider anywhere else. But I didn't need to - right from the start the staff were really attentive (thanks to everyone), the bike (850GS) was in great condition and came ready with the bits I had asked for (top box and phone mount). Everything was clearly explained and the whole process very smooth. I did a day down to the Cape, and then a second day through the winelands and the mighty Franschoek Pass. As we were local I could even store the bike overnight back at the GSA compound. Really nice vibe about the place - interesting building too. I agree that the trickiest moment was the cobbles in front of the store! Thanks for such a great experience - first time in Cape Town but not the last.

After the motorcycles arrived a little later (traffic) we got 3 great Harleys in pretty good condition. We drove 3500 km from Johannesburg to Cape Town without any problems with the mopeds. Very reliable. Returned after 11 days and also at “LEE” our consultant provided a great service. Thanks for everything.

During a recent trip my rental bike suffered mechanical troubles (a leaking shock seal that was covered by the manufacturer's warranty). GS Africa insisted that the bike be relinquished to a BMW dealer for repairs for four days in the middle of our trip. Neither they nor the dealership provided a replacement bike, nor alternative transport for those days. Had I been traveling alone I would've had to find a local hotel on short notice, lost a slew of non-refundable nights of lodging, and missed out on a trip to Kruger.

GS Africa's response was that this was an "unforeseen situation that could have happened to anyone, even if the motorcycle had been your own," and refused to refund the rental fee for the days that I didn't have the bike.

If I'm paying ~$175 (R3,050) a day for a bike rental, I expect to actually have use of the bike.

Imagine a client reserved (and fully prepaid) for a rental bike for a three-day ride over a long weekend? They stop in at GS Africa on Friday morning to pick a bike up and notice that the front shock/damper is leaking on the bike they've been provided. The client does their due diligence and lets GS Africa know immediately. GS Africa then informs them that they can't ride the bike in that condition. The shock has to be replaced first.

GS Africa's perspective is that it is perfectly appropriate to withhold that bike, send it over to a dealer for repair (which can't be completed until Monday), not provide an alternative bike to the client over the weekend, and still charge them for the three days rental. GS Africa's perspective is that it's not their responsibility to actually provide a bike in working order (or refund the client's money if they can't), but only that they need to make some initial attempt at providing the client with a bike. That seems absurd. Even if it would be challenging or infeasible to get the client a replacement on short notice, the least they could do is not charge the client for a bike they can't use, that GS Africa has retaken control of.

This was the second time I'd rented from them. On a prior trip it took weeks of haggling and lots of photos to keep them from withholding hundreds of dollars for damage that a previous renter had done to the bike.

They're great to work with, right up until they've got your money. Then they take the full rental fee plus thousands of dollars in deposit before you start your trip so that you have no recourse when they don't deliver.

Beware. You may very well find yourself in a position where you've paid in full for a bucket list trip, only to be stranded somewhere for days, being charged for a bike you can't use.

It was fortunate that a virtually new bike had the shock failure, as you completed most of your trip and were heading to Kruger National Park for a 3 day safari, where motorcycles are not allowed to ride. So your itinerary did not have to be changed in any way and you thankfully reminded us that you would and could not use the bike for the 3 days. Although we were preparing to send a replacement bike for your use after your safari, all the BMW dealerships in the area assisted us to make sure your bike was ready for you to do the final leg of your trip. We know how important it is that our riders can continue with their plans, so if you could actually use the bike (no riding in national parks), rest assured you would of had a replacement bike to your avail as well as a refund for the period the bike was being repaired. Anyhow, all is well that ends well - we apologise for the inconvenience and sincerely trust you will continue adventuring in Southern Africa.

I had the most phenomenal time on a BWM 310 GS, thanks to GS Africa Motorcycle Rentals! From start to finish, everything was perfect - the reservation process was easy, the bike was in top condition, and the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. They even mapped out a route for me around The Cape, including penguins and the unimaginably stunning Chapman's Peak. I cannot recommend this company highly enough to anyone looking to rent a motorbike in Cape Town and will definitely rent from them again the next time I'm in SA. Thank you again for an unforgettable adventure!

My friends and I used GS Africa to book three motorcycles (two Street Glides and a Sportster). The team there was incredibly responsive through the whole experience and they even mapped out a great day-long route for us - which gave us an excellent ride through some of the most scenic parts of the Western Cape. I highly recommend this team if you want to rent a bike with little hassle and full support. Great team.

From initial contact to finalization of insurance refund the service provided was excellent, Candi-Lee was available almost 24/7 even over Christmas and New Years to ensure everything worked and got sorted. Thank you!

Bike was in mint condition and delivery punctual and well organized. GPS Tracking and Rider Down Alert provided additional security, particularly if one is riding solo.

Small detriments: Side panniers were missing and (return) pickup of the bike was delayed by some time, compared to the overall service provided these points are negligible however.

Rates are not cheap, even with discounts applied (almost on level of Western Europe), the perfect service and great bikes are worth it though, would highly recommend this rental operator if you are doing a trip around South Africa.

A lots of very good souvenirs for that Garden Route trip. GS Africa is a very professional and trusty company, every thing went well. The GS bikes was really in a very good conditions, we enjoyed that trip. All was really perfect with good hotels, good food, good roads. The welcome and the return were perfect. This is very high level of company you can organise a trip in the best conditions. We had NO problem during that 7 days trip, thanks also to the gS Africa team. Hope to see them again soon.

My son (age 28) and I (61) recently rented a pair of GS' African bikes (BMW GS 750 and 850) which we rode from Johannesburg to Cape Town through the Drakensberg, starting on the coast in Durban. What a trip and experience it was! The bikes performed perfectly and we felt fully supported by Candi and her staff the entire way. The many locals we met along the way were always friendly and obliging. The entire experience from booking with GS Africa, along with their vast knowledge and tracking was flawless (they knew I gently laid down my bike on the Suni pass (and called us to make sure we were safe) before we decided to park them 😀 and were fortunate to be asked to join a tour up the pass to Leshoto).

From the time the bikes were delivered to us in Johannesburg, when promised, till the end in Cape Town, our trip was rather effortless but incredible and completed without a hitch. Thank you GS Africa and Candi and all the staff for all your help and ensuring our adventure was a wonderful experience. All said, I highly recommend a 2 wheel trip booked and organized through GS Africa.

had an amazing experience using GS Africa motorbike rentals. We hired a Harley Davidson Sportster 1200 and a BMW GS 750 across two days. The bikes were immaculate and the booking experience was seamless thanks to very helpful and friendly staff. It was the perfect way to experience Cape Town and the surrounding areas. I would highly recommend GS Africa to anyone considering motorcycle hire whether novice or very experienced. At the shop was also a very handsome and friendly chap (dog) named Cougar, who was a delight.
