TAILOR MADE CHARTER FLIGHT

We needed a tailor made charter flight to view a farm in Tulbagh with foreign clients.
NAC's Mishkaat was professionalism embodied. The request was sudden and over the weekend, with NAC coming in a a quote 30% lower than their competitors.

Not only are they efficient but offer the best value for an experience which went without any hitches. We were on time, the pilot engaged with the passengers with regards to the operational aspects of the chopper, which was interesting and informative.

We won't bother to obtain quotes from any other helicopter company in Cape Town....GO NAC GO....and thank you.

We were in Cape Town with 2 friends and decided it would be good to see the area from the air. What a good choice.
It’s not cheap, but definitely worth it. Although our helicopter was a 6 seater, we had it to ourselves which made it even better. The views were just incredible and I think I probably took several dozen photos !! You can’t help but just keep snapping away.
We also had an extra bonus. One of the other helicopter pilots contacted our pilot to say that he had seen a whale in the bay. So our pilot turned the helicopter around and set off to see if he could find it. Success, there it was right below us, amazing.
Fantastic experience that I would certainly recommend to anybody.

Completely smooth and professional experience. I had planned the flight as a surprise treat. NAC's communications were responsive and helped me sort out times and dates, and facilitated our experience.

I picked NAC because of their aviation pedigree, and their service during the whole experience just confirmed my choice.

We flew the Cape Point circuit in the Bell 407 machine, and got a surprisingly smooth ride even in a 25 Knot South Easter at Cape Point.

I would recommend NAC to anyone wanting an experience out of Cape Town harbour.

Poor helicopter experience

When you spend this much money you expect to have a good experience. Unfortunately, I was placed on the right hand side of the helicopter and didn’t have much of a view and absolutely no a view of Table Mountain. When I asked the pilot if he could let the people on the right hand side have a view of Table Mountain, he said yes but then didn’t bother. Very disappointing flight. The pilot was called Julian and he was very much like a robot didn’t really listen to his passengers request. We were also put in a group of six into one helicopter so we were packed in like sardines, when others in the group I was traveling with went up in fours threes and twos. Why did we have to be in a six? We paid the same money but definitely didn’t get the same experience. Not worth the money! Treated poorly. When I explained how I felt to the staff they just said oh well!!

We are truly sorry to hear that you were placed on the right-hand side of the helicopter and did not have a clear view, especially of Table Mountain. Our pilots are communicating between the base, and with other aircraft and passengers whilst flying a helicopter, and it is possible that he never heard you. I was able to go a Helicopter ride wit NAC helicopters in March with a tour group, Zebra Adventures. The pilot made it so much fun and we had beautiful views of Cape Town and table mountain. It was a great experience.

The NAC team were very accommodating, it was a windy day and they indulged me to wait out the weather for the helicopter tour experience. The whole experience was VIP from the hotel pick up, reception at the office, golf cart drive to the heliport and experience with the pilot.

I recommend them a 100 times over!

Being a solo traveler it was great to have the ground staff meet me on my return and offer to take my photos on my phone.

Amazing, Amazing, Amazing!!!!

What an amazing way to spend 12 minutes! The most spectacular views and the best hospitality. From the smiling office staff who were fab to the pre and post flight wines, this was truly a wonderful experience. We were supposed to do the flight the day before but the rain had set it. We were able to change the flight with the wonderful staff to the next day with no issues at all.

Can’t wipe the smile off my face 😁

Amazing flight over Cape Town and surroundings

We did a flight with Nac helicopters on 28th of august. It was just spectacular and a must do thing in Cape Town. You see the whole area from a different perspective, which is fantastic. What a beautiful city! Our flight was great and so was our pilot, everything was smooth and perfect. I would do it all again in a sec.

Stuck in middle seat for same price!

I bought this as a gift for my husband for our first wedding anniversary. We are from Cape Town but this is something he has always wanted to do.
We did the Three Bays trip for about 45 minutes. The actual scenery of Cape Town was obviously breathtaking, from what I could see...
There were 4 of us passengers altogether on this flight. Due to the weight balance, my husband and I were split up as one of us had to sit in the front seat to balance the front of the helicopter with the pilot. I insisted he take it as it was his gift, and luckily he got this seat, as he had a wonderful experience and saw everything!

I on the other hand, was placed in the back in between two large men.. The seat was tiny and I had to sit forward with my arms crossed. Thank goodness I gave my camera to my husband as I definitely could not have taken photos, let alone move my arms. As I was in between two strangers, I couldn't lean over and could not see much from where I was sitting.

I emailed the company to complain about this as I don't think its fair that someone sitting in a middle seat pays the same price as someone with a window seat.. Its actually ridiculous considering this experience costs a lot of money in the first place!
I never did hear back from the company regarding my complaint.

For this reason, I would not recommend Nac Makana and if you do plan to do a helicopter trip over Cape Town, be sure to check the seating before you pay thousands of rands.

Dear Karin K. We are sincerely sorry that you did not enjoy the experience with us, unfortunately with the single seat option we cannot plan seating in advance as we only have access to passenger weights on arrival. This as you can understand leaves room for error when one or more passengers arrive and are "slightly larger". The helicopter you flew in was a Bell Jetranger which is used worldwide for scenic flights and provides four passenger seats. Civil Aviation regulations require us to work out a "weight and balance" calculation before each flight and we pride ourselves on providing the safest possible experience for our passengers. We do however value any feedback as it allows us to improve upon our service and work on ways to make sure that all Clients leave NACMakana with a memorable experience. Fabulous flight on a beautiful day

Breathtaking views of Cape Town and the glorious coastline and mountains. I was lucky with the weather so got to see this city and the picturesque mountains in all their glory. Opted for the 30 minute ride and glad I paid more than I had originally planned. The facilities and professionalism of the company is second to none. Liked the pickup and drop off from the hotel. Driver was a great guy. Even the safety video was good and you got a glass of champagne or a soft drink too! Pilot was informative about what we see and was very professional too. Everyone had a headset and could ask questions during the flight. Felt completely safe.

As with all helicopter flights you can be on the wrong or right side but firstly the seating layout meant each got a window. One lucky guy got to sit next to the pilot. This is usually decided by the ground crew based on weight distribution so don't expect if you are single or first in line you will get the seat.

Secondly the best seating side is the passenger side (left). You get the most to see and photograph. Those on the pilot side (right) mostly looked out to sea and don't get great views of Cape Town and Table Mountain and the rear of the mountain. The other side do see the islands and inland as you go round but views are not as good. You can see the views but it is difficult to take pictures across the person next to you and they may be taking photos a lot too. I offered to take some pictures for the people on the other side which seemed to be appreciated.

For me I was thoroughly satisfied. But just be aware of how being on one side could better or worse than the other. Ultimately if this bothers you pay for a single or 2 people trip but obviously you pay a lot more.
