I experienced the charm of the Fugard Theater when watching Kinky Boots in January. The Fugard makes it easy to book your tickets on their website with the ability to view the stage from every seat before committing to them which is perfect if you haven't been to the theater before. Parking was easy enough to find but Ubering would be ideal to enjoy a drink or two before and during the show, as they have two bars and the option to pre-order drinks and food when booking your tickets. Row C to F are ideal. The Kinky Boots production was nothing short of brilliant. The passion and talent experienced here will leave your cheeks hurting from the exuberance and awe transferred from the stage into the audience. I'd recommend this to anyone to anyone visiting or staying in Cape Town and if you are going to wear boots, make them red!…

Based on a true story, Kinky Boots is brought to life by a stellar cast with Darren Craig as Charlie (who inherits his father's shoe-making business) and Earl Gregory as the gorgeous, legs-up-to-his/her-armpits Lola and a supporting cast that is quite spectacular. The words from the Seventies song say it all, "Well, I'm not dumb but I can't understand/Why she walked like a woman but talked like a man". My daughter and I visited for the 1st time on the 9th Aug to see Kinky Boots. Yoh! it was great, I enjoyed it so much that I flew my dad and brother from the Eastern Cape in.
