About
You will get to visit world famous estates. BUT even better...as you will also get to taste the wine lands in a more real way by visiting hidden farms only known to locals. Share stories with the local wine makers, drink wine directly from the barrel, endless cheese, local treats, cellar tour, vineyard walk, various wines, Stellenbosch etc. This is what we pride ourselves in. It’s a must for the traveller wanting to experience the best of everything the wine lands has to offer. Our tours are something memorable, immensely fun and mostly a real South African experience in the heart of one of world’s most renowned regions.

Great selection of wineries and you get food at every stop - Biltong, cheese, braai, and chocolate. Great value for money would definitely recommend!

An amazing day of wine tasting with cheese and chocolate parings.
We visited several vineyards, each hosted by owners who were passionate about their wines and tried around 25 wines in total.
Our guide, Alethea was both knowledgeable and highly entertaining throughout and made it a great day.
I would highly recommend this wine tour to everyone!

I booked the Franschhoek & Stellenbosch Wine Tour because I wanted to specifically visit Franschhoek and it's main town. In the description on Wine Flies website, it states "In Franschhoek you will have the chance to walk off your lunch, strolling down the main road." Well, imagine my surprise when I learned that we would not be anywhere near Franschhoek, let alone able to walk down the main road. The tour description is nowhere near accurate, and I was incredibly disappointed to learn that the vineyards we visited were all basically in Stellenbosch.
On the plus side, our guide, Pieter, was fantastic and so knowledgeable. He was the saving grace for this tour and the only reason why I gave 2 stars instead of one. Aside from that, I would not recommend this tour. Our transportation van did not have a working microphone, so none of us could hear him while he was guiding us along the drive. And clearly the company does not care to provide a tour as described on their website. Wine Flies, do better.

What a great day! From pick up to drop off - entertaining and educational, great group of people to spend the day with. The winelands are beautiful and the vineyard visits well timed and beyond our expectations. We cannot recommend this tour highly enough - thanks especially to Yaz for leading us, full of energy, knowledge and enthusiasm.

Did the 4 farm wine tour with Etienne. Etienne is a very friendly and enthusiastic guide with an amazing amount of knowledge on the farms we visit, the wines, the grapes, and even the history about the area and vineyards. He’s been doing these tours for a long time and that shows in how mich he can tell about it and answer any questions you have.
We had an amazing time. All the wines were fantastic and the cheese and chocolate pairing that we did at some of the farms were such a nice touch.
Best wine tour our there and not a coincidence that I booked this tour 7 years ago too! (Didn’t know this at time of booking)

We chose the gourmet tour so it was just the two of us and Julian our guide who was extremely knowledgeable and easy going. The range of estates we visited was spectacular, from the larger high-volume to the small scale family owned ones. The food pairing was great and each host took time to chat and explain the production methods and the stories behind the wines. If you follow our choice, ensure that you go to Lovane Estate the smallest and friendliest of them all.

We went on a full day wine tasting tour cheese and chocolate paring and a lovely lunch. Legend our guide picked us up from our hotel and dropped us back we ended up in a group of 8 lovely people of varying nationalities but all good fun to be with .He gave us a in depth talk about the history of Cape Town on the way to Stellenbosch We visited 4 vineyards all very different and had about 5-6 different wines in each with a lot of information about the wines etc. Legend was passionate about wine and very knowledgeable which showed in the talks he gave us about the wine region the process and tasting and paring. I would definitely recommend this tour . My husband enjoyed it too and he doesn’t usually drink wine 🍷!

The best wine tasting ever! The trip was amazing and our host/driver was the best storyteller I have ever met. So a big big recommendation from Denmark!

Myself and a colleague had a wonderful, full-day experience with an amazing and well-educated guide named Julian. As locals, we still learned so much about the Winelands area, the history of the area and the history of winemaking in South Africa. I highly recommend Wine Flies tours if you would like to experience different wineries and learn more about the history of winemaking in South Africa.

Hi, I am staying in Misty Cliffs just South of Cape Town in December. My wife and 2 teenage 17 and 19 year olds will be traveling with my wife and I. We are only staying for 6 days but keen for one of those to be spent at local vineyard. Which one would you recommend? I’d be grateful for any guidance on how to spend our limited time. Thanks

Hi, wine tours take you through 6 different vineyards and even though it seems like a lot of wine tasting it works really well! Out of 6 that we visited I would definitely recommend Mitre's Edge in Stellenbosch - their wine was delicious and it goes well with cheese. Since you are going as a family I would also recommend Middelvlei wine estate. You can sit down and eat at their restaurant, have a tour of their wine making facilities and try the famous South African Pinotage. They have farm animals and provide accommodation, in case you would like to stay the night. Unless the teenagers get bored of seeing too many vineyards I would definitely recommend the whole tour! Enjoy! : )

Hi,
My husband and I were hoping to do a vineyard tour however we are away with our 9month old baby, are we able to bring her along?
Thanks

Probably not best to join a group tour, but contact Wine Flies and ask about a private tour, mentioning you have a baby. I'm sure they would be more than accommodating
"Please speak to us should you like us to design a tour that fits your preference. We have lots of experience not just in the wine lands but all areas around Cape Town. Once again, we guarantee the tour to be unique and memorable. Contact us at info at wineflies co za"

We made our plans through Ursula at our Hotel, The Rouge on Rose hotel in Capetown. She set us up with our Wineflies tour, our Day Tour of the Cape and gave us excellent suggestions for the time we had to spend.
One thing we did not do and would do if we were there again...We would spend two days in Stellenbosch itself. We only drove through it while on our wine tour. It's a lovely place and I found myself wishing we'd allowed time to stay there.
Another thing we didn't do and would if we have another chance is to drive through the Garden Route. Along those lines, please do not miss the chance to go to Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens in Cape Town. It's easy to get to by one of the Tour Busses and you should spend the entire day there. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, even in the off season. I can't even fathom how they might look when everything is blooming! There are wonderful shops and eateries galore. Plan to have breakfast there as well as a late lunch with wine in the afternoon. Just spectacular.
Good luck Lorenzo!
