Solo female traveler.. I was somewhat apprehensive about traveling into Cape Town alone however working with Cape Fusion Tours and one of their tour guides was a wonderful experience.
Cath listened to what I wanted to see and do and due to a bicycle race which interrupted our costal site seeing tour she still managed to get it all done. Her knowledge of the area, history, plants, birds is endless and to top it all off she has a quick Witt and wonderful sense of humor which made our 2 day adventure even more fun. I had a foot injury from my travels in Zimbabwe and Cath insisted in coming to the emergency room with me.. She definitely went way above and beyond the call of duty. Thank you Cath for a wonderful time in Cape Town.

We booked 4 days with Cape Fusion, and were honestly a little apprehensive when we found out we would be with the same guide for 4 days. That is a long time to be with someone if you don't click with them! But our anxieties were quickly put to rest when we met our guide, Ryan. We were laughing and getting along right off the bat, and by the end of the four days, it felt like we were leaving an old friend.
The first day, we did the Cape Peninsula tour. It was a great way to spend our first day in Cape Town, and Ryan gave us lots of interesting history lessons while we explored the peninsula. He took care of lunch reservations and made sure we saw the more popular spots early in the day before they were super busy.
The second day, we did the Table Mountain tour and the City Eats tour. We loved getting to Table Mountain so early - we beat the crowds and had almost the whole place to ourselves. We wanted to walk a little more at the top, and Ryan was a great sport and came with us and took lots of photos for us. My husband and I did not have huge appetites for the food tour, and Ryan made sure all of our leftovers went to people experiencing homelessness. He took us to the botanical gardens and gave us lots of interesting local history info as we walked around downtown.
My husband and I really enjoy wineries, so we booked two days in the Winelands. I was worried we should've only done one day, but we absolutely loved spending 2 days. Ryan drove us from Cape Town to Stellanbosch on the first day, took us to a few wineries for tastings, and had an amazing lunch at a restaurant we never would have picked. He dropped us at our hotel In Franschoock and picked us up there the next morning for a second day of wineries. When he found out that my husband liked cab frac, he made sure to take us to a winery that was known for their cab francs. He handled reservations for all the tastings and lunches, and it was so nice showing up places and having a table waiting. It was clear that Cape Fusion is well known in Cape Town and the Winelands.
We used WhatsApp to communicate with Ryan over the course of the 4 days. One day we were running late bc I wasn't feeling well and he was very patient and told us not to worry. He made sure to have water in the car, and we had great conversations over the course of 4 days - it honestly was sad to part at the end of our time together. We felt so taken care of and would highly recommend all of our tours to anyone visiting Cape Town. I feel like I learned more about South Africa's history in 4 days than I did in all of my years of school.
Thanks again to Ryan for an amazing 4 days - cheers until we meet again!

Lisa was absolutely fantastic. A bright soul that knows Cape Town like the back of her hand. I couldn’t have wished for a better experience to start my first day in Cape Town!

Shelley was our guide for half a day in Cape Town, plus we also enjoyed a full day experiencing the wider Cape. Shelley met and picked us up on first day from hotel and provided us with many insights and information for us to gain a greater understanding of South Africa and its culture. Shelley was friendly and fun, didn't dress like a formal guide, and was super flexible, including making a few tweaks to the itinerary so it really worked for us. We only had a short stay in Cape Town and would never have been able to experience so much if we had done it ourselves.

Everything was perfect on this tour. Shelley is a wonderful guide. In a few short hours we enjoyed everything from an out of this world French toast to Cape Malay treats to a Japanese cocktail. Everyone should make time during their holiday in Cape Town to get to know the vibrant food scene (and a little history) of Cape Town.

We had the most amazing time with Ryan! We saw and ate so much. We never would have seen Cape Town the way we did without Ryan and Cape Fusion. We found out about your city, not just see your city.
Ryan is a special man. As my wife and I were ubering home she said to me”It’s like we hung out in the city for the day with an old friend.”
We got to see hidden gems we NEVER would have seen on our own. And hanging with someone local we felt very safe throughout.
And don’t worry about the food volume. At the first stop Ryan mentioned that any leftovers would be packed up and given to someone homeless. After each stop each person was grateful (and respectful).
You don’t have to be a foodie to go on this tour. Go for the experience!

Amazing Tour - Amazing People.
I booked a two day tour with Cape Fusion, being met at the hotel on the first day by Lisa. I could leave an absolute essay on how amazing the tour was, what we saw, ate and where we went, but this is definitely something you need to experience all for yourself. If you love food, wine and sights, this is the only tour company you’ll need. If you’re really lucky, you’ll get Lisa. An absolute amazing person, who has travelled the world and knows her stuff, with tons of local knowledge.

Had a most excellent day with Ryan (Cape Town Eats) touring the food diversity of Cape Town. We enjoyed classic favorites such as croissants, coffee and roobioos tea to begin the day. We then progressed to several well curated local food offerings that were as flavorful, vibrant and enjoyable as our conversations about the history, culture and daily life in Cape Town. Walking from stop to stop was a great way to experience the neighborhoods within the city. We loved every minute of the tour.

I have been visiting South Africa for years and can honestly say this tour opened my eyes to a country and a city I have visited dozens of times before.
Pam and her guides keep their fingers on the pulse of the very best and latest foodie trends so each experience is bespoke and informed by real local knowledge.
From a peaceful coffee under the trees at on the slopes of Table Mountain to sampling Cape Malay spices in the colourful Muslim neighbourhood of Bo Kaap, each fresh stop was a revelation of the creativity and cultural richness that Cape Town has to offer.
We were lucky enough to be guided by the founder, Pam, herself, who is a fount of knowledge on the sprawling, colourful metropolis she proudly refers to as ‘my city’ . From the latest hipster haunts to the habits of the local homeless people, there is nothing and no one she does not seem to know.
If you want to experience Cape Town like a real local, Pam and her team are the ones for you.
A MUST for your next visit to SA.

There were some initial concerns as we weren’t sure of navigating around Cape Town ourselves, yet we wanted to explore and experience local food. I started to do some search and Capefusion seemed to provide the balance we wanted. We booked 2 days with Cath and it surpassed our expectations, the team were not only responsive towards queries pertaining to the tour, they also helped us with other unrelated questions.
The experience didn’t feel like a service, rather it felt like having a good friend bringing us around, which is the best if you prefer to have a good time rather than a standard tour. To be honest, the full day food tour was above our initial budget, but after thinking back I felt that the amount of things done, the variety of local cuisine and experiences gained was something we could never have done within a day. During travels, time is very important.
Everything was well planned, flexible and most of all, unique experiences. Even after the trip, the team continued to get back to my queries regarding the beautiful city. Highly recommended.

How much was charged per person for the Capetown eats tour?
Written 24 July 2017
Hi James. Please can you email us and let us know how many people you will be with. The tours are private tours and as such the rate is dependent on the number of people. It does not want to allow me to put the email address here - so please
Click through to our website
Can you also advise what date you are looking for? We are a small team and as such we sometimes have limited availability
Many thanks

Written 12 May 2016
I actually have no clue how much it cost as it was included in our itinerary and booked by our agent. Call Pam at 27 21 461 2437 or send them a DM via Facebook. Have a wonderful time and don't forget to try the ice cream bunnychow!
