About
The Two Oceans Aquarium is a window into the spectacular oceans surrounding the southern African coast. Through displays ranging from the small and almost fantastical Knysna seahorses, to sea turtles and shoals of shimmering fish, the aquarium holds wondrous discoveries around every corner. Come face-to-face with giant spider crabs and have an adventurous tactile experience at the Touch Pool. Be sure to visit the I&J Ocean Exhibit, with its 9m long window, and 10m long full tunnel. Qualified divers can also make use of the opportunity to dive in this exhibit with shoals of fish and turtles. The Jelly gallery is sure to mesmerize and enthrall.

    Great couple of hours
I was surprised by how much we all enjoyed the Aquarium. The tanks were full of beautiful coloured fish, reminding me of our holiday in the Maldives snorkeling over the reef. We sat and watched the divers in the large Ocean tank, then the sharks and visited the Penguins. So much to see and enjoy. Well worth a visit and kiddies will love it. (You can return to the Aqaurium after you've left by having you hand rescanned...we went back to use the toilets when we couldn't find any at the Waterfront.)

Fun afternoon with clownfish and penguins
I was pleasantly surprised how nice the aquarium is. I loved the clownfish tank. Hundreds of them surrounding your head. They are too cute. The jellyfish area was good. We enjoyed the penguin exhibit and the feeding. The African penguins are so fun to watch. Most of them knew feeding time was coming. The rockhopper penguins are equally cute and fun to watch. Going to aquarium is a great way to spend an afternoon in Cape Town.

    Under the sea 🐙
We visited the aquarium as a family - parents, young children (5 and 3 years) and grandparents and it was enjoyed by all. My mother uses a wheelchair to get around and we were glad to see that it was very wheelchair friendly. We visited on the weekend (Easter weekend) which was super busy as expected, probably best to try and visit on a weekday if possible.

    Fantastic Aquarium In Cape Town
We visited the Two Oceans Aquarium whilst using our City Pass Cape Town card. Usually, I give Aquariums a miss as the ones in the UK are fairly sub-par, however, Two Oceans Aquarium really surprised me. I would go as far to say it’s a must-see for any visitor to Cape Town. It is home to over 3,000 marine animals from all over the world, and is divided into two sections, representing the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. The Atlantic Ocean section is home to a variety of marine life, including sharks, rays, turtles, and fish. The Indian Ocean section is home to a variety of marine life, including penguins, jellyfish, and seahorses. The aquarium is well-maintained and the exhibits are informative. The penguins are a particular highlight of the aquarium. They are playful and curious, and I could spent hours watching them and their little personalities. All the staff we came into contact with were both friendly and knowledgeable, and always happy to help. I would definitely recommend Two Oceans Aquarium to anyone visiting Cape Town.

    Rainy day getaway
A wonderful way to spend a rainy day in Cape Town. Not too crowded on a weekday, but I imagine it being packed with kids on the weekend. Beautiful exhibits with jellyfish, turtles, sharks, penguins and stingrays among the attractions. A strong message throughout the experience was caring for our oceans and its inhabotants. Would reccomend to any ages and any constellation of visitors. We would gladly go there again in the not top far off future!

    Great aquarium!
We were a bit cautious of including this on our Cape Town itinerary, having read some of the reviews, however given the location (Waterfront) we thought if giving it a try. It was an excellent decision! The aquarium includes well designed exhibits with several large tanks where one can watch in awe stingrays, sharks and many other fishes. Our favorite part were the penguins. We spent close to 30 minutes watching the rockhopper penguins preening themselves, hopping around and swimming!

Really Good Quality and Value for Money
I was pleasantly surprised how good this aquarium was. The jelly fish display was very different. In the dark with the jellyfish illuminated. However my personal favourite was the large tank containing the sharks. Amazing, beautiful, powerful creatures seen up close. Also love seeing the hordes of kids on their school trip. So well behaved and well monitored.

Perfect hideout for a rainy day
Our Table Mountain plans were dashed on account of adverse weather and we didn't want to be cooped up in the hotel room with the kid. So suddenly planned to visit the aquarium. Tickets are available online. Tickets for visit after 3 pm are comparatively cheaper and you can easily see everything in 3 hours. The aquarium has plenty of marine exhibits including sharks, penguins, jelly fish and a variety of other fishes. The entire area in under 1 roof and you dont have to step outside. There is also a play area for children below 1.2m in height. We bought a family photograph package for R300.00 which included 3 photos and 2 key rings with our pictures. The souvenir shop was a delight. Dont forget to look at the seals basking on the pier behind the aquarium ( you don't have to enter the aquarium for this) . Overall a great day despite torrential rains.

    Diverse aquarium…a must see
We had such a wonderful time at the aquarium. You absolutely need to do the behind the scenes tour…ask for Bamanye, he’s been there 10 years and knows all the ins and outs of the aquarium. They have 3 huge aquariums to reflect different ocean ecosystems. The layout makes it so easy to navigate. Ask the guides what time the penguins “waddle”…it’s an experience you don’t want to miss. I can’t recommend this aquarium high enough. A must see!

    Very entertaining visit!
Very entertaining and interesting visit. The Aquarium is well run and has friendly staff. Displays are kept in good condition and are very informative. There's lots to do for the kids, but there are also plenty of attractions for anyone. The shop has a good selection of goodies. The location is also convenient, and there are restaurants and shops within walking distance. The tourist bus stops at the Aquarium.

Love the fish, sea creature atmosphere. Great for all ages. Coffee's good. The African and macaroni penguins are a must. The plushes in gift shop look of good quality. my toddler sister got a penguin whilst I got a great white shark. Compare it with Mauritius'
Odysséo. Two Oceans is way larger.

We went on a Tuesday and it was extremely busy. We paid R470 for 2 adults. We thought we would be there for about 1.5 to 2 hours, but we were there for almost an hour as it's not big at all. If you have been to Ushake marine world in Durban, it's easy to say that the 2 oceans aquarium was a BIG let down and there was not much to look at. I wish I knew that the tour would be much shorter and that the correct entrance price was given online. It wasn't worth the money. It's difficult to give such a bad review as I love going to aquariums, and it was really a waist of money and I won't recommend it to anyone as you won't miss out on anything.

Amazing! I loved the place and all the animals… especially the turtles 🐢 there’s a nice coffee to eat just next to the aquarium and it is located in a really nice area of Cape Town. You definitely have to visit this location if you travel to CapeTown.

I was pleasantly surprised to see what work is being done in this aquarium, including plastic art (from plastic collected as garbage from the ocean) and turned into beautiful art hanging from the ceiling!
I also enjoyed watching the feeding of the manta rays and the penguins 🐧

We're from Chicago so I expect most aquariums do not measure up to the Shedd, so this aquarium was a surprise. Compact, modern, and well organized with displays that highlight the oceans and rivers in the Southern Hemisphere. Seeing seals and from above and below and if you're adventurous the opportunity to actually scuba dive in the big tank with an instructor. I'm not that adventurous, but it was fun to watch. Another plus was seeing the excitement and joy in the groups of schoolchildren.

It was beautiful but it’s day light robbery, we paid R580 for 2 adults and 1 child and it was less then an hour their are no shows or lecture's it’s just a circular walk then you done, we walked in they took a photo then at the end they want you to pay another nearly R300 for the pictures, for the amount of money paid it’s not worth it for a day path there isn’t enough to do to justify the amount, at least in Durban you get full value for money
