Well worth it! Bird life and sea life interesting. Boat ride was scenic and the views are really beautiful. Our guide Llewellyn was very interesting and had a great sense of humor. He was very good at explaining and he spoke clearly.

While the trip was undeniably interesting, I think it was at the same time undeniably tedious! After a while looking at all the prison cells seems like a chore, and also becomes quite depressing. There was only a limited amount of information available, unless you...More

Excellent value for money with the ticket including boat trip return to the island, coach transport with tour guide and ex-prisoner as the prison guide. Very informative and well organised trip.

Robben Island is another must-see when you are in Cape Town. The ferry leaves from the V and A waterfront, and takes about 30 minutes. The tour includes a coach trip around the island, taking in a number of prison facilities and the old leper...More

The visit to the prison was very interesting and the tour by an ex-prisoner offers insights in South Africa’s history. Therefore this is a visit one cannot miss out on. Unfortunately the organization was poorly excecuted; there were huge delays with the ferry, the busride...More

As said by others, you spend quite some time on the bus and while in the walking tour you can seat. Don't worry it's really worth seeing it

It is chaotic at the Quay and where there is chaos there are opportunities. You might find a hotel concierge, not necessarily your one, might be able to help for a fee.
