The shopping area around the market is very interesting . the markets however sells mainly the same African souvenirs you see everywhere . Do not start to bid unless you want something as the shopkeepers are very persistent

The Greenmarket Square is a park like area with individual vendors set up to sell their wares. Most of the booths had the same things, lots of handmade items that you could bargain for the price. I got some good deals on souvenirs, but the...More

A great location, but this is not south African and it all just feels like a rip off, tacky, sad and an insult to such a locations...I really think someone needs to take this over.

The vendors have a wide variety of merchandise here and they are NOT overly aggressive so looking at the items for sale is fun. The people in the stalls are friendly and definitely willing to bargain slightly, but remember, they work hard for the money!

Everybody needs to visit an African market (or twenty), if only to haggle and purchase a few curios and gifts for the folks back home. The Greenmarket Square is a good place to do this.

Stall owners friendly and not too pushy. Typical market stuff. Price negotiation as per all markets! If you are Australian, wooden goods not allowed back in the country I think.

This area of the market is over priced, you have to knock them down, night time it's not safe at all .. make sure you only visit during the day

The market isn't enclosed, it's just out there on a closed-off street. In the middle of downtown, so yes, wheelchair accessible for sure. As for parking, it seemed to be just street parking. We were on foot so didn't pay much... More

All items being sold on this market are manfactured in the so called Townships. Buying here is helping the local community. Quality sometimes is questionable but they have nice give-aways to take home with you. Always... More
