I had not visited Greenmarket Square for years but we spent a night with our friends in their AirB&B last Monday and walked down the impressive Avenue and St George's Street and had lunch in Greenmarket Square. The stalls appeared to be less numerous. This...More

It’s pretty kitschy, loads of vendors. They can be a little aggressive. But they do take no for an answer. Many stalls claim to have made the item, but then you go to another stall and it’s the same fabric, the same carving, even the...More

Typical tourist tat with pseudo-African products and a host of fake t-shirts and football shirts. Disappointing

This place is where you can spend your money and get quality stuff souvenirs for a good price. Also a good place to talk to locals and get some history. Oh the most important part free unless you spend. LOL

There is a variety of local stuffs, like bowls, t-shirt, African dress, hats, etc. The merchants are nice to chat with.

This is nothing else than a big open area souvenir shop but worthwhile doing it. You can find nearly everything here: from t-shirts to paintings to jewellery to souvenirs. Don't forget to visit the small – walking only – streets around Green Market. There also...More

African art and artifacts, household goods, clothing and accessories, jewelery, and lots more, including Burger King. Tourists should be ready to have some fun and haggle; don't go for the first price.

The space has and always is a highlight of cbd visits. The chaos is well ordered with a great variety of stalls. I liked the second hand cd stall, the t-shirts on sale. The girlfriend was mad about the scarfs. It is a truly universal...More

Greenmarket Square is a great place to visit in the daytime for souvenirs. There is a completely hassle free environment. With vendors ensuring your not harassed by people on the periphery. Bargaining is usual but it’s not aggressive in any way. Our hotel was directly...More

Officially, 9am-5pm, but they'll sell earlier if you're there with money and they'll start closing up at 4 if it's a slow day.

9 to 5 according to their website. Be cautious and watchful in this area. We witnessed a necklace snatching and credit card theft just feet from the market perimeter. Once inside the perimeter security is tight.
