It's close to Long Street. Very good place to shop traditional gifts. But it's not that cheap. You can bargain the prices, so the first price is always expected to reduce a little.

It is a market like many others in South Africa but it still is one of the nicer locations. We've been looking for dog collars with African bead work and have been to a lot of markets, low and behold - we found it on...More

Since this is located a few blocks from our hotel where we stayed for four nights, my spouse and I, and other persons in our 36-member tour group were able to easily visit during our leisure time. Early farmers once sold their produce on the...More

Lots of stalls selling a lot of similar, but to the tourist eyes, unique items. Worth going here and you can bargain and get a good price. I bought a beautiful lion painting for 300 ZAR (started at 500) and also an ostrich egg on...More

Of course the ppl are willing to haggle, but be prepared with cash. They are all locals that set up and tear down each day... so working harder than those at the shops. Prices are a little better here than elsewhere, but again, be prepared...More

I don't think I would make this a special trip, but as part of a long ramble round Cape Town, you should include it. It's very colourful, and a good place for souvenirs. You can probably bargain and negotiate.

My hotel was nearby so I walked past Greenmarket Square a few times during my 6 days' visit to Cape Town. Vendors cart their wares and set up their stands by 8:30 am daily and are gone by 6 pm. Most sell African theme clothing...More

If you after a very African feel with lots of products made in Africa, this is your place. Some nice coffee shops in vicinity and lots of beggars. We were approached by 3 different people within walking two blocks. Be aware but no need to...More

Having read various reviews of this market prior to our visit we were disappointed with the overall quality of goods and the surroundings. Many souvenirs are "Made in China" items, be cautious! The prices may be negotiated but be prepared to be pestered. In addition...More

No, they won't ship unless you buy inside a store, which might be more expensive, but sometimes they can surprise you with great bargains. There are plenty around the market. And if you fin something outside, It is always... More

The market isn't enclosed, it's just out there on a closed-off street. In the middle of downtown, so yes, wheelchair accessible for sure. As for parking, it seemed to be just street parking. We were on foot so didn't pay much... More

exchange your dollars for rand at ATM or exchange shops. You can usually purchase items of half of the asking price. Keep your hang bag, wallet close to you as pick pockets will have an eye on you.
