Can’t recommend a hike with Dominic enough. Very personable and knowledgable about Fynbos Biome. Lovely walk for 1/2 day, with tea,
Coffee and pastries on mountain top.

I was so impressed with Dominic after his guiding on my hike up Table Mtn with my daughter last year that when I returned this year I chose to rebook with Dom for a day of birding with my husband. Dominic’s easy imparting of info on all things flora, fauna, history and culture was out of this world. My husband ate up all the info, and I, never interested in geography, botany or other earth sciences, laughed and learned. A second amazing full day, a year later, with this guide confirms his skill as a naturalist and instructor. I very highly recommend.

From pickup to drop off Dominic was an amazing hiking guide. At every moment we felt that we knew where we were heading. He made us feel safe on the trail while fighting 30 kmh winds and torrential rains. He shared immense knowledge of the unique ecological makeup of table mountain, SA culture and history. Would recommend to anyone who visits.

A whole day private tour with Dominic was a Christmas present from my partner, and it was without a doubt the best tour I've been on in my life.
The scenery and wildlife in Cape Town is unparalleled. Truly the most beautiful landscapes I've ever seen, and being able to go to the less well-known places away from the massive tourist buses made it all the more special.
Dominic is a master at what he does. He has such a vast and in depth knowledge of the ecology, environment, and history of South Africa. Everything he taught us was beyond fascinating, and he's a great storyteller too!
He was able to tailor the tour to what we wanted to see, which was very much appreciated because there wasn't a wasted moment. It was such great value for money.
I can't overstate just how incredible our day with Dominic was. If you're looking to see what Cape Town has to offer, look no further than The Fynbos Guy.

I traveled with Dominic for two days around the wider Cape Town area on a birding tour. It was fantastic. Not only was his knowledge about the birds second to none, he also possesses incredible knowledge about the area's history. It made for a very comprehensive, 100% enjoyable tour. Dominic's a very inquisitive man and I got a lot out of our in-between birding location chats. My favorite birding site was the Cape Town Sewage Farm - no joke... incredible birds!

Family of four. 60-23 morning hike up Table Mountain. Learnt everything from apartheid to zebras. A real authority on fauna and flora. Got us up the hill with careful advice and encouragement. Came down with a real understanding of the ecosphere as well as a sense of achievement. Knowledgeable top bloke.

We were delighted to discover Cape Point off the beaten track and Stranfontein and its flamingoes with Dominic. He is patient and interesting with the kids as well as highly knowledgeable to guide the adults and serious birders. He is flexible and can change easily his plans to meet the group's mood and expectations. I highly recommend this guide in the Cape area if you like wildlife!

I scheduled a half day guided hike up the India Venster trail on Table Mountain with my 25 year old daughter, who, over me, has the advantage of youth, but lacks hiking experience. Dominic was a patient host and facilitator, who waited through our many breaks, encouraging my daughter in the “slogs,” and me on the scrambles. While Dominic nudged us forward with some determination, he shared his considerable knowledge of flora and fauna and history and, when asked, culture. I appreciated his candor and dry wit. Our water ran dry and he shared his. He also shared snacks that provided energy bursts, and took for us some celebratory pictures at the top. I would surely book another adventure with Dominic without hesitation!

Dominic led the 4 of us on a one day tour to Boulder Beach to see the penguins as the sun came up and before the crowds. We then went to the western cape and took a hike. We appreciated his knowledge, enthusiasm and curiosity in all of the natural world. It was a fun and full day and a great way to learn the plants, animals and history of the area.

I contacted Dominic and asked if he could find me a challenging hike--and that's exactly what he delivered, complete with waterfalls and picnic lunch--as well as an enormous amount of into about the history, plants, climate, birds and politics of South Africa. I had a hugely enjoyable day that was a highlight of my time in Cape Town. I hope to be back and would do it again in a heartbeat!

Hi, I'd like to book a half day table mountain hike, but we are packing a tight agenda and will be returning from Cape point at around 1PM, so probably not in Cape Town before 2.30 PM.
How can we arrange for the afternoon? can we start the hike at around 3 PM?
