We would rate Matt, from African Blue Tours, a 10 if TripAdvisor allowed it. He was fantastic! Matt was waiting for us with a sign when we got off the plane after landing in Cape Town. He welcomed us with warmth and enthusiasm to South Africa. After pointing out the sights on the way to our city hotel, we arranged a pick up time for the next morning as we had prearranged a winery tour. We spent Friday happily having Matt drive us to (as well as decide on) some fantastic wineries. Nothing was too much for him. We mentioned one thing and the next thing we knew-he was making it happen. We even had late dinner reservations that went very late- and he was more than happy to accommodate us. He never rushed us nor made us feel like he was “working.” What a terrific attitude to have with tourists! We had prearranged for a Saturday City tour as well. Matt was waiting for us once again as we walked out of our hotel. He encouraged us to make Table Mountain our first stop. We were so glad he did as the day was crystal clear. We thought he would just drop us off but nope- he joined us as our very knowledgeable tour guide pointing out the varied flora and fauna as well as all the different areas of Cape Town we could see from the top. It was wonderful and made our visit so much better because Matt was with us. We also saw Simons Town, Cape of Good hope, Cape Point, and the Penguins at Boulders Beach. Matt even called ahead for lunch reservations at a great place along the water. What an absolutely perfect day. We could never have done 1/2 of it if we were driving ourselves. After having two terrific days with Matt, we asked him if he could add an additional day to our tour -he was that great. We laughed, learned, and saw so much of the city and it’s history. So our last day in Cape Town Matt met us for a tour of Kirstenbosch Gardens. He was an amazing guide taking us all through the gardens pointing out interesting plants or vistas. He was patient with our picture taking and he was amazing at taking pictures of the 4 of us (yea, no selfies needed!) through tour stay. We then headed to some beautiful beaches as well as Groot winery. We so enjoyed the day! Please don’t think twice about booking with this tour guide. Usually, we self drive all our vacations but Matt has convinced us not to do this going forward. He was so personable and so knowledgeable (you must be certified in SA to be a guide) that our time in Cape Town was flawless. We saw more in a few days than most people see in a week. We were so relaxed and could leave all the decisions and driving to him-and he did an amazing job! Thank you so much for our wonderful time in Cape Town Matt!

Excellent tour of the Cape Winelands. Our tour guide, Matthew, was very knowledgeable about the local wines and also provided very informative details on the history of the region and South Africa in general. He was very personable and we had a great time. I would highly recommend.

Hi Bill Thank you for your 5-star review. Matt told me he had a great time with you both in our winelands and hope it exceeded your expectations from that Youtube clip where you first learned about our little company. Kind Regards from Cape Town, David Smith

Booked with African Blue Tours on 31 December 2021. Matthew was our guide. Except the he was very knowledgeable, an excellent communicator, he took the best photographs. It was the most exciting day of our holiday and would recommend using the company any day.

We traveled to South Africa as a family with 3 adult children. We were amazed by the beauty, kindness, and professionalism of the country and its people. We used African Blue Tours based on a recommendation. We booked a full day wine tour from Cape Town. David Smith had amazing contact and recommendations for us via email prior to our departure from the US. We were paired with Broose, our guide and he did not disappoint. Broose contacted us prior to pick up to ask what types of wines we liked and tailored our day to our preferences. He was a wealth of information and was happy to answer wine, culture, and political questions about South Africa. After the first stop he asked our opinion and based on our feedback, Changed the itinerary slightly and we were thrilled. We were concerned about covid in South Africa and could not have been more impressed by African Blue Tours and everywhere we visited. I highly recommend a day or two with Blue African Tours- very flexible and professional.
