I did the Mountains in the Sea 5 day trail and I would definitely recommend it! The hiking was great, there are spectacular and varied views, with some of the walking in the wilderness and off the beaten track. The trail was with a guide that has a lot of knowledge about the area and the nature. The accommodation was also really good and well located.

We took a free walking tour of Cape Town with Guru walks- fabulous guide Michael delivered!! We learned a lot! Michael was easy to listen to, happy to answer questions and gave us info on restaurants etc. He also reminded us of being safe!! We appreciated.

We had a great time over the course of 2 days of guided hikes with Khaya, and we appreciated Raphael's driving us around to our various locations.

Khaya ensured our safety and was continuously talking to us about the various happenings in daily life, along with providing helpful context about the hike and the views. We hiked Table Mountain one day from the Kirstenbosch area (roughly 4-5 hours), and we also went to the Cape of Good Hope for some smaller hikes and for the nearby penguin colony (Simons Town) on the other day. All the hikes we went on had great views in store, and they definitely challenged us. Unfortunately, we did not have the best weather for the Cape of Good Hope day hike, but it was still a good experience with Khaya. I also appreciated Raphael's contributions to our conversations in the car, as he provided us with a slightly different perspective.

We were provided with lunches and water from Khaya, and the lunches were tasty and filling, clearly freshly made. While the overall tour price is expensive, considering the additional fees you pay to enter the parks and attractions, I do believe it was still worth it for both safety and just to have Khaya's perspective during it all. I hope both of these guys are treated well, as they certainly enhanced our Cape Town experience.

We went on the city walk with Thandikhaya on a Saturday morning. It was fabulous. He is so knowledgeable about the history of the city and it’s buildings and tells wonderful stories both about the city and his own life growing up, the perfect combination for learning about the city, whether you’re a local like me, or a visitor.

Ambling up from Greenmarket Square up to Bo Kaap, with it’s lovely cobbled streets between brightly coloured houses and learning about the history, before heading back through town to Church Square and the Slave Lodge to the Grand Parade, I learnt the most incredible amount about the city that I call home.

A walking tour with Thandikhaya is highly recommended!

We had an absolutely great time. Beatiful views and excellent discussions  with Khaya, a very knowledgeable and kind gentleman, who was our guide for the hike. We were not in a hurry, so Khaya took his time to explain many things about the nature at Table Mountain and about societal questions as well. The hike was definitely the highlight of our trip in south Africa. Highly recommended

I had never before hired a guide for hiking, so I did not know what to expect when I went for the Cape Point Day Hike with Steve. Without him I would have missed most of the wildlife, the animal tracks, the scat along the trail, and the significance of the plants. He showed me how to look and what to look for. He has a great sense of humor and is easy to talk to, but he can also be quiet for longer stretches. And he makes a delicious vegetarian salad for lunch. The day I hiked with Steve at the Cape was hands down the best day of my South Africa vacation.

Wow Gudrun, thank you for the compliments. I'm so pleased that you enjoyed your hike. Apologies for the delay in responding - but I've been "on the mountain".

We had an amazing hike up Table Mountain and learned so much from Steve. We are a family of 5 and everyone's skill levels could handle Platteklip Gorge. Definitely would recommend!!

We had a fab experience with Steve (and the wonderful Meru) guiding us up Table Mountain. Not only did Steve guide us, but his knowledge of everything from the animals to the flowers to the rock formations was amazing. He answered every question for us, and made the experience unforgettable.

Whilst Table Mountain is doable without a guide, having Steve with us made the experience all the better.

We booked Steve through our travel agents as a private hike up the mountain. We are a family of 2 fifty somethings and two twenty somethings . I was a little nervous about the hike and whether I would keep up or even manage it. Steve was an extremely good guide, accompanied by his beautiful Belgian Shepherd Dog Meru. We took our time, as the route was busy and I had to keep stopping! However Steve managed to keep the others interested in the plant life on the mountain, the bird sightings and even trying to see the dassie.

The cable car was being serviced during our visit so we also came down the mountain, much easier than going up in my opinion! Steve's knowledge about the mountain and the other beautiful walks in the region inspired us to visit Cape Point later on in the trip.

There is nothing like personal service. he even brought snacks and water along to keep us going.

Highly recommended
