Wow, such an amazing tour! We booked the walking tour of Bo Kaap last minute and it has been a highlight of our trip. Our tour guru, Michael, was very knowledgeable and friendly. We learned a tremendous amount and got all of our questions answered. Michael even gave us tips of where to take the best pictures and how to pose haha. Highly recommend!

Enjoyed a good walking tour of the Bo-Kaap.
Michael Wilcox has excellent knowledge and presented the perfect blend of history, culture, and social awareness. His personal connection with the area made the tour personal and engaging.

Our tour guide Michael first explained the general history of Capetown before we then moved to the start of the tour at the first of 5 mosques in the small Bo Kaap area
He has a wonderful knowledge of how this area evolved in the context of the city and its Muslim population and we certainly saw elements that would have gone unnoticed without his expert eye.
Many of the locals seemed to know him and it meant that we didn’t feel that we were treating the people and their area like an open-air zoo.
We had reservations as to how such a small tour could take 90 minutes but in the end, we could have spent even longer courtesy of what he was able to show and tell us about Bo Kaap.
A nice guy, knows his stuff and is a very enlightening guide.

I booked Michael’s historical walking tour in Cape Town through Guru Walk. It was me (solo female traveler) and another couple on the tour. Michael was great. Very informative, clear communication, very polite and willing to answer our questions and get into different subjects (history, economics and politics). He also gave us some tips of what to do while in Cape Town. It was a different thing to do besides the natural beauty and landscapes that Cape Town has to offer. And I enjoyed very much the more historical approach and learning about the formation and importance of the city. I highly recommend.
