I found this service online and liked the reviews they’ve had. So I called their office just two days ahead of time (I was less than adequately prepared for this trip). The owner Gavin Pfister was very nice and super helpful. He helped to arrange my shark experience trip right away.
The boat had about 30 visitors and a crew of probably 10 people. The crew, led by a marine biologist called Kelly, were fantastic. They were very knowledgeable, super pleasant, and eager to attend your needs even before you ask. For the trip we were very lucky: we saw a seal playing in ocean, saw a brown whale shark and even saw a young great white chasing a seal. The seal managed to escape, which made the entire boat cheer with happiness.
All in all, this was a wonderful experience and I could not think of anything negative to say about the experience and the wonderful crew. Thank you all!

There are not enough stars to rate the experience we had with Gavin and the Extreme Scene team. I worked closely with Gavin over a period of 10 months to plan an incentive trip to Cape Town for 50 people. The service provided from Gavin from day 1 was first class - professional, polite, concise, honest and so much more - Gavin really took the time to understand our group, listen to what we wanted to do and help build the most exciting five day itinerary (think sea kayaking, safari, table mountain, helicopters, bikes & sidecars, quad biking, private yachts and so much more) . Gavin then worked alongside me the whole time we were in Cape Town - not only did the trip run seamlessly, Gavin built a great relationship with our group and was on hand for anything we needed, nothing was to much trouble. Taking 50 people away to a different country on an action filled trip is daunting but Gavin eased all of those worries. It was an absolute pleasure to work with him and the team, we had the best time and I can't wait to plan next years trip.

10 of us visited Cape Town for the Cricket in January, and gave ourselves a few days at the end for excursions. We were recommended this company through a family friend and we are glad they did. From enquiry to booking, Gavin the owner was very helpful and knowledgeable in making sure our days were full and we got to see everything we wanted to do in plenty of time. We did the Shark Dive, Safari and Cape Peninsula trips. We had the same driver Richard for all the 3 days who was fantastic. On time every morning at the hotel to pick us up and such a brilliant guide, host and driver. The trips were amazing! On Safari, we saw 4 of the big 5 including getting a bit too close to an Elephant and being chased by a Rhino. On Shark Dive, we had 17 Bronze Whaler Sharks around our boat at 1 stage which was an amazing and scary sight. (Please note, there are Great White Sharks in the area – one was seen 2 weeks before we went, but they are not the biggest, don't expect to be seeing any huge Great White Sharks with any company you book, despite what you are told). Then the Cape Peninsula tour included a trip up table mountain and a trip to the Cape Point lighthouse. Richard was very knowledgeable on the drive and took us to a brilliant Fish and Chip shop near to where he grew up.

Gavin and his team were incredible resulting in us having the trip of a lifetime. Not only did he manage to arrange all accommodation, safaris and activities for us; he always made to check in and make sure things had gone smoothly. When a storm created a complication with our trip to Okavango Delta, Gavin was able to work magic and make sure we still made it there and had an incredible trip

My teenage daughter scheduled this adventure. I have never been interested in Sky Diving and was hoping the weather might prevent us from doing the jump. It did not and I am so grateful I was able to experience the thrill and utter peacefulness of sky diving.
From the moment I walked in the hanger, the 2 Oceans Team made me feel completely at ease. My jump master Rob, who has over 17 years of experience, said all needed to do was smile and have fun. This was 100% true. The flight up to 9,000 feet, putting my legs out of the plane and then leaving the plane was extremely reflective and meditative. I experienced great calm and not a ounce of fear and I attribute that to the very intentional ways of the Jump masters. I wholeheartedly recommend this company. They will take great care of you and you will have a once in a lifetime experience. I recommend the video service too. You will be so amazed with what they can capture on film.

Gavin booked a guide for me to do Table mountain up the India Venster trail which is slightly more challenging but more fun than the platteklip trail (in my opinion). I set off at 0630 am which Gavin recommend due to avoiding queues; it was a great way to start the day. I got the cable car down which was 220 ZAR and there were no queues. My guide, Xolani was great, very friendly, knowledgeable and took pictures and videos along the way. Gavin was great and very easy to deal with.
Gavin also booked Lalibela Game Reserve which was an excellent experience. I was really impressed at the efficiency of the staff and overall quality of the reserve. We saw everything I wanted to see minus the elusive leopard.

We booked our trip with Extreme Scene on recommendation and Gavin and his team did not disappoint.
From our first enquiry, without having any experience of South Africa, we were guided through options and recommendations over countless emails but Gavin’s patience with our many changes resulted in one of the best trips I have ever experienced.
The organisation was impeccable, with flights, connecting flights, airport pickups, transfers and guided tours all on time and completely hassle free.
The hotels and safari lodges organised by Gavin were all way beyond our expectations and the staff in all of them were fantastic and could not have been more helpful and attentive.
We started out in Cape town which was fantastic with a top hotel on the Waterfront and our personal driver/guide for 5 days
who was very knowledgeable and took us on some great trips.
Our next stop was the Franschhoek Valley, again with an amazing hotel, world class restaurants and a wine tasting tour with our own expert guide.
On to Simbivati River lodge in Kruger National park and 4 days of safari game drives in luxury accommodation with the most knowledgeable guides and trackers and unbelievable food that you just wouldn’t expect in the wilderness!
Finally another 2 flights with one night in Jo’berg and a 2 night stay in Victoria Falls which is breathtaking.
I cannot recommend Extreme scene enough would definitely use them again.
Thank You Gavin and Team

I wish I could put into words how amazing the trip was, and this was solely down to Gavin and the Extreme Scene team. My colleague and I had worked with Gavin solely for a year prior to the trip to pull off what was a trip of a life time for our 51 guest we had travelling with us. Everything was planned to perfection and attention to detail was second to none. Gav and the team felt like part of our group and was a pleasure to have them join us on our travels around Cape Town.
I couldn't recommend enough!

Hi, we are ariving at Cape Town on the 14th of April and we have 4 days, we would love to do a cage shark dive.
We are a Family of four, with a 16 year old girl and a 13 year old boy.
Could you organize that day trip for us? With transfer from Cape Town
Where would you recomed to do it, I understand the great whites have been dificult to see these last year
Costs?
Written 18 February 2020
Hi and thanks for your enquiry. We can definitely assist you with the shark cage diving on 14 April. Your children are also old enough to do the cage diving. In April we would offer this to you in Gansbaai. While the recent activity of Great Whites has not been very consistent one of the boats last weekend had a very active Great White around the cage. On every trip there have also been many beautiful Bronze Whaler Sharks all year.
Cost for the shark cage diving is R2200.00 per person. Cost for a shuttle bus collection and drop off transfer is R550.00 per person. If you prefer a private vehicle transfer to Gansbaai and back for the 4 of you the cost is R4300.00. If you are interested please send me an email through our website. I am not able to post my email address on this answer page.

Hi Juan
Thanks for your message and request.
Fantastic! April is personally my best time of the year for Cape Town. We can certainly assist with the shark cage diving as well as some other fun adventures and sightseeing tours. Dont forget we offer sand boarding, snorkelling with seals and the Cape Peninsula tour to go and see the Cape of Good Hope and the penguins at Boulders. We can also assist with booking some amazing safari experiences.
Your children are both old enough to do the shark cage diving.
The cost is R1700.00 per person for the shark cage diving. If you need a shuttle bus collection and drop off transfer it is an additional R500.00 per person.
We also offer a private vehicle transfer that is R4300.00 in total should you prefer to travel to Gansbaai and back in your own vehicle and not with other paying passengers on the shuttle.
April is not in the whale season so the chances are not good to see them but being a big wild ocean anything is possible and there are some Humpback Whales that sometimes stay close to our coastline.
There have been some times this year where the Great Whites have disappeared. At Seal Island, False Bay another location where you can go shark cage diving there has not been a single Great White seen this year. However there have been many in Gansbaai which is where I have quoted above for. So there are definitely still some Great Whites along our coastline and you will see some of the recent reviews from our clients confirming this. However please keep in mind that the ocean is a big place and the animals that live in it including the Great Whites are wild and not in our control. So we are unable to guarantee any behaviour or sightings. If you want to send me an email for further details and questions you can send me an email via our website. I look forward to hearing from you.

What is the price for two people for cage diving ?
Lisy
Written 26 August 2019
Hi Lisy thanks for your enquiry.
The shark cage diving in Gansbaai is R1700.00 per person and same price if you only want to view from the deck of the boat.
We have 3 methods of transfer to Gansbaai and back. You also can of course drive to Gansbaai and back yourself if you wish:
1 - Helicopter flight to Gansbaai and back for 1 to 3 people is R45900.00 extra. If you are a group of 3 people we will need confirmed individual weights as we might have to upgrade the helicopter and therefore re-quote.
2 - Private vehicle transfer to Gansbaai and back for 1 to 3 people is R3800.00 extra. This is a nice option as during Whale Season(between July and December) we can take you to try and spot some of the huge Southern Right Whales in nearby Hermanus after the shark cage diving. Or we can take you to some fantastic wine tasting farms in the beautiful Hemel en Aarde Valley.
3 - Shuttle bus collection and drop off with other clients at R500.00 extra per person. Strictly for central Cape Town accommodation options only.
Please send me an email if you are interested. Let us know your preferred date and how many there are of you. Thanks and we look forward to hearing from you soon.

Hello! What is the price per person to do the shark cage diving? and what is the best month or time of year to see the great white sharks?
Written 17 July 2019
Hi thanks for your question and I am confident we can assist you with this. July and August are generally the best time for the shark cage diving but the trip is offered throughout the year as the sharks can be around at any time of the year.

Hi, I would like to know if I would be able to skydive without anyone connected to me.
Written 25 June 2019
Thank you for the question about skydiving. While it is possible to do a skydive solo it does require an intensive training course before you can do this. So if you have the time and budget it is definitely worth looking into.
If you are only looking for a once off freefall experience your only option is doing it as a tandem skydiving experience which means you go with a fully qualified instructor attached to you.

Hi, my partner and I are travelling to Cape Town on 6th Sept for our honeymoon. We'll be in Cape Town for around 3 days. Is this a good time of year to see sharks?
Thanks
Written 7 April 2019
Hi. The shark cage diving in Gansbaai is available all year round. Even in the peak activity season for the Great Whites between May through to end of August there is a chance that you wont see any. September is an intermediate season so you normally still have a good chance to view the Great Whites. Send us an email so we can assist you further with your travel plans and answer more questions if you have any. Dont forget some wine tasting and even the Cape Peninsula tour that we also offer clients.
Written 10 April 2019
Hi, my partner and I are travelling to Capetown on honeymoon in May and he is really keen to do the Shark cage dive! Is this a recommended time of year to do this? What type of sharks are you likely to see? Also, I am not very keen to do the dive myself but would I be able to travel with him as he does the dive even if I don’t want to do it myself?
Thanks
Written 23 February 2019
Hi and thanks for the message. The month of May is typically the start of the peak season for Great White Sharks so you can normally expect a good trip. Great Whites and most recently some Bronze Whaler Sharks have been in the bay. You are more than welcome to come and view from the deck of the boat as there can be a lot of surface action that you can see from the deck. Many of our clients choose to do this and then once on the boat decide to go in the cage. The price is the same however. Please note that we also offer many other activities, safaris and experiences in Cape Town. So please send me an email so we can send some info to you. We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Hi, I'm planning to go to Cape Town in March and would love to go shark diving on March 13th. How is the sighting on that moment of the year for white and other type of sharks? I tried from Simons Town few years ago with no luck, I'd like to give it another try, if white sharks the better. You provide the wetsuits and snorkel mask?
Written 12 February 2019
Hi Carin I have answered your direct email already but have also provided answer here below in case you havent received. Fantastic that you are coming back to Cape Town again and of course we look forward to your arrival.
There have a been a few Great White successful trips this year in Gansbaai but to be honest nothing like we are used to having. It does seem to be improving and perhaps a whole lot better by the time you get here. False Bay is out of season at this stage and have had no Great Whites. Gansbaai is getting Bronze Whaler Sharks on a daily basis with the occasional Great White. False Bay has some Seven Gill Cow Sharks.

Written 29 June 2018
Hi. While we can assist with the cage diving in False Bay in September the breaching part of the trip is unlikely. The peak season for the predation and breaching of the Great Whites is June, July and early August. So by September this type of behaviour has normally slowed down or stopped completely. Sometimes by September the Great Whites in False Bay have moved away from island and shark activity can be very limited. We send most of our clients to Gansbaai in September. Either way we would like to be of assistance to you so please send us an email so we can book you in. Thanks
