- Charles BPittsboro, North Carolina53 contributionsRelax, grab a bite and shop a bit!We enjoyed this visit on a Saturday. The food market was open and the options were wide-ranged, from vegan to breakfast to comfort food to regional foods to delicious alcohols. It was crowded, but not too much, and the prices for the dishes were reasonable. The boutiques and small shops had interesting options. Some were high-end and some were bargain, but it was a good first market experience for Cape Town. I recommend a visit to the Old Biscuit Mill! Be sure it's a weekend visit!Visited December 2022Written 13 December 2022
- Harald GracholskiCologne, Germany6,898 contributionsLaid back flee market & four courtThe Old Biscuit Mill weekend market is a chilled flee market / outdoor shopping mall / food hall combination that makes for a worthwhile afternoon on weekends. Next to the cute shops there's live music and various food and drink stalls to not just stroll around a bit and get some shopping in, but enjoy some high quality daydrinking to start off your Cape Town vacation in style. We loved the vibe and good looking young to mid aged crowd and felt absolutely safe there at all times.Visited February 2022Written 18 January 2023

- Momo3 contributionsNot as I expectedYou should go on weekends. It was quite smaller than I expected. They have weekends market so it might be fun on weekends but definitely not on weekdays. We went there on weekends but honestly the oranjezicht market near the water front is much better!Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 1 October 2023

Best to visit on Saturday! I did come on Monday ( early afternoon ) and it was very empty with hardly anyone else shopping and not all stores were open as well as no outside vendors

So many coffee shops and eateries for a good meal, wine or coffee. Spoilt for choice. Lovely stores with eclectic items to browse or buy.

Left a bad taste in my mouth , all various foods but decided to try Bunga Bunga between the two of us . Looks great he gives you the food then tells you you come back to pay that's when he tells you £25 for a pile of salid and meat you can't eat.

Thin estimates is to go there and ask one of the stall operators, they will be able to direct you to the relevant people. Hope this helps

What would be the best way of getting to the biscuit mill from the V and A waterfront? We are heading there for the Saturday markets. We won't have a car.

Hi there. The best way to get around Cape Town without a car is to use Uber. They are very safe, quick and efficient. It would only take about 15 minutes to get to the Biscuit Mill from the V&A.

A local told me in April 2019 that it's nearly empty any day except for Saturday. I only visited on a Saturday. Ask a local when you visit to confirm what is available on other days.
hey there if I wanted to have a stall at the old biscuit mill on a Saturday, how do I go about it?
