Cape escape Tours was founded in 1995, we cater for sightseeing tours as well as active holiday such as hiking, mountain biking and trail running tours. Our offices are based on the slopes of Table Mountain. We are passionate about nature and take great pleasure in sharing it with our guests. Our outdoors activities cater for the novice to the more advanced and include multi-day tours.

Patrick was an excellent communicator, punctual and prepared. He has intimate knowledge of the mtn bike trails in the area and can customize your tours to fit your riding style, fitness and tastes. The trails around Wellington were especially good and the Table Mtn Loop should be on every biker's bucket list. There is much to explore and we just scratched the surface in three days. There are all level of trail difficulties and you will find what you are looking for. Covid mitigations restricted us but Patrick helped make the most out of a difficult situation.

Four of us had an amazing Cape Point ebike tour with Patrick.
The ebikes were racing bike style, which was a little challenging at first for us a group of occasional cyclists in our late 50s, but once we got used to them they helped make the day, they were so quick, nimble and smooth.
We did 3 rides during the day including Chapmans Peak and the Value of Good Hope reserve, with a comfortable mini bus ride between rides and then up the east coast.
We saw great wildlife, Ekand, Ostrich, Penguins, Baboons and more.
Patrick was an amazing host and guide, very knowledgeable about the area, fauna and flora, and was very flexible and patient with us on the day. Organisation and logistics were great, and we loved having the photos he took of us ebiking WhatsApp'd to us.
Merci Patrick, we hope to be back for another ebike tour soon.

I had the most incredible day mountain biking with Patrick! I had a small window of time but really wanted to get in a memorable ride and this one delivered. I used to do a lot of riding in western Canada/ Rocky Mountains and this was the same calibre if not more so. Epic XC trails, quite technical but well maintained, and of course the most stunning scenery imaginable. Patrick was an excellent tour guide and cycling buddy and was extremely understanding and accommodating when I asked to shorten up the ride slightly. I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone who wants to hike or ride in the cape and if you want something tough but memorable, so the Stellenbosch to Boschendal ride :-)
Also the bike was a very very nice carbon Specialized full suspension trail bike. All in all a perfect day.

The moment I sawe this tour on the Cape Escapes website I knew I had to do it. As a former resident of Cape Town and only very occasional MTB rider, I was really looking forward to this adventure and it 100% delivered. The trail is challenging, but anybody with good fitness can do it. It's also a bit technical, but anybody with a small amount of offroad experience can do it. The route and the views are spectacular.
Patrick is everything you want from a guide; fun, interesting, very punctual and very knowledgeable. He took me around the course at a pace which suited me and made the day very enjoyable. Highly recommended.

A terrific few hours on the trails around Table Mountain to the vineyards of Constantia, Patrick is a friendly, helpful, and informative guide. Very well organised, collected from hotel with a nice full- sus rented bike, we were on the trails within minutes. The trails are a mix of jeep track, with some single track descents. Some climbing, in parts a little technical. Any mountain biker on holiday will be smiling. Rounded off with some easy cycling in the vineyards and a great cup of coffee. Lots of chat and information from Patrick. I'll be back.

I try to get a ride in at least one, everywhere I travel in the world and I have to say this was some of the best riding I’ve had. Patrick is a fantastic guide and riding companion.
The Stellenbosch ride offers challenging climbs, buff single track along with great flow trail-like descents with jumps, hips and some bike park features. The bike was spot on too which isn’t always the case.
I highly recommend booking a ride if you have the time. It was a highlight of my trip.

I had the pleasure to (try) the "Mini" peninsula all day tour. Patrick met me at the lower table car station at Table Mountain to start the tour. I was his only guest, so we had lot's of time to chat. Being in CT for 30 years and doing mtb for more than 15, Patrick definitely knows the ins and outs and is a very good guide.
The views and impressions, but also the inside informations on the tour were very special and even though I had to realise I would not make it back to the cable car station (I was around 250 / 1500 altitude meters short...), I still loved every meter I rode.
Patrick was kind enough to go on on his self to get his car, after which he fetched me and brought me to my car.
In a nutshell: Patrick is a very nice and fit guy you enjoy being around with that knows the Cape very well. I can recommend booking him–should I be travelling to CT again, I will do so myself!

Two of us visiting from Kenya did a half day MTB trip with Patrick around Paarl Rock to Rhebokskloof Wine Estate where we finished for lunch. The ride was magnificent (mix of steep uphills at the start to some incredible view points, serious downhill on a well maintained track and the last hour of single-track to the finish), the Specialised bikes we hired were top of the line and Patrick was a really fun host. This was the best MTB day of my life. Highly recommended

After 2017 we asked Patrick again to organize a Mountainbike tour in the Cape area, and he did not disappoint us. Guided by Patrick and Rafik we did ride the most beautiful trails in Cape Town, Stellenboch, Paarl and Wellington. Both are excellent riders and guides, but they are also good entertainers. A good joke from them and you forget that you‘re in the steepest part of your uphill section.
Accomodations were great, all what we did need after a long day on the bike.

We booked the MTB Mini Peninsula Tour with Patrik. A very beautiful and varied 80km along single trails and the coast. Patrik was a friendly guide who took care of everything. We were always in good hands with him. You can enjoy great views that are not accessible by car. And with a lot of luck you can even see the Cape Epic champion training ;)
