I believe one of the best ways to truly get to know a city is through a walking food tour, so we've been on lots of them. The eat like a local tour with Rupesh was one of the best! His food selections are impeccable, and his knowledge of culture and history just added to the experience. I highly recommend this.

We are Cape Town locals and went on the food tour with Rupesh for a birthday celebration. He managed to pick the best versions of food South Africans eat every day and package it together with the history and food stories of Cape Town in a fun and interesting way. Rupesh has a great sense of humour and is engaging and generous. His love for and interest in food is contagious.
If you are not sure whether to choose a private or open tour, go for the open tour. There is much joy to be found in sharing a meal with someone from another country.

We love to start any trip to a new city with a walking tour to familiarise ourselves with where the locals go, the history and especially where to eat! The great news about Eat Like a Local Cape Town is that we got all of this in one tour! Plus it’s just a small group so you get to know your fellow travellers as well as having time to ask heaps of questions, get recommendations and experience a really personalised food journey. Rupesh is awesome, friendly and fun - so many tasty bites, unique locations and interesting stories along the way - plus you can really see the passion in their team of tour guides supporting their fellow small businesses in the Cape Town community. Thanks for a fantastic day out! Highly recommend.

We loved our tour with Rupesh. He was very knowledgeable about the food scene in Capetown and had tons of suggestions for us. It was a great way to get our bearings, learn a bit about Capetown and experience some delicious food. He even offered to answer any of our food related inquiries for the duration of our trip!

We had the opportunity to participate in this food tour on the last day of our trip to Cape Town. Each restaurant we walked to had it's own unique experience of South African traditional flavors and dishes which gave us a true taste of the culture. Not only did we eat delicious food, but Rupesh was highly knowledgable about the history of Cape Town which added such value to our experience. My wife and I were so grateful we found this tour and highly recommend it to anybody who appreciates food as an expression of the culture they are visiting.

Our friends daughter and her husband raved about this food tour when they were in Cape Town for their honeymoon earlier this year. They said it was a must-do and they were so right! Rupesh and Andrew led our group of 8 friends and we found them very knowledgeable and passionate about their beautiful city. The food experiences were all unique and fantastic! Well done gentlemen!

Rupesh and Andrew led an absolutely fantastic eating experience through Cape Town. From a beautiful tea room in the park to the best samosas I’ve ever eaten, this is a tour and highlight of Cape Town that is not to be missed! You will leave happy and full with a desire to dig deeper into the food culture here.

This is a really fun way to see Cape Town. We are i our 60's and the walk was very easy. Great food , great history information and nice easy pace. A must to do in Cape Town as you get away from Victoria Albert dock area and into some of the lesser tourist parts of town. The whole time we felt extremely safe.

Fantastic food tour with Rupesh and Megan. No-one was left hungry (honestly do skip breakfast before the tour because there is SO much delicious food). Friendly knowledgeable guides, really good company and a great way to absorb the city’s culture and history as you graze your way round it.

Our family went with Zee on a wonderful walking day food tour & it was just fantastic! A very immersive experience not just with food! Zee was able to show us some important landmarks and tell us the history behind them and also throw in a lot of cool South African culture! She was super knowledgeable and took us around to eat some amazing food! Wonderful experience!

For some reason, i can't email you from your website. We will be in Capetown and the only free day that we have is April 18th. I don't see any tours listed on that day! I hope that you just haven't updated your calendar! There would be 2 of us going on the tour. Thanks in advance!

The tour is about 4 hours and we stop at 8 food and drink destinations to enjoy their offering. We cover a distance of 3.5 kms walking through the central district of Cape Town. We also pass through historic areas like the Bo Kaap and taste some traditional food.
