Didn’t quite know what to expect, and what we got was world class (dahlings)

From arriving on the red carpet and being met by the tall and glamorous Cathay Specific, and being made to feel fabulous, maybe an act, but that is the point. Picture opportunities do not disappoint!

You enter into the bar area, where you can have a drink and relax before the show.

You are then shown to your seat (personally)we liked the ‘business class you are on the balcony at the front so can see every twist and turn of the fabulous stage play they perform, and as it’s a small venue so you never feel Detached from their fabulous performances.

We saw the pantomime (three blind mice) and also the ‘non specific’ we absolutely loved both but non specific is your more expected ‘drag show’ with a massive difference which outclasses any other, they actually sing the songs, and they belt them out! Wow, it’s like a London drag bar meets the west end! But WITH talent!

They are very international, and although there were some parts that we couldn’t understand as they switch into ‘Afrikaans’ it doesn’t cause you to lose track of what is happening, and English is used 95% of the time. However, it does remind you that you are in the most beautiful city in the world.

Finger food is on the table, and you are given time to snack and drink prior to the show, everything is so well timed, but not rushed.

They have got this concept amazingly to point.

Gate 69 is now part of our visits, and we are here from the UK, every year... if you find no where else, we will be here.

Advice, get there prior to 7pm, the red carpet and pictures is a must.

And what ever you do in the mother city - GO!

We were a table of 8 and every one of us thoroughly enjoyed our evening. From the kisses on the Red Carpet, the delicious finger food and our gorgeous towering, bare-bummed, fairy-lit "waitress" to the belly laughs, great music, insane talent and chat with the AWESOME Three Blind Mice after the show, it was just a magical experience and definitely one to be repeated! The Farmer's Wife was also just gorgeous, the Cat was hysterical, the Dog was great fun and Luanna is such a stunning bad ass..... I want to be her when I grow up! Thank you Brendan and crew, we will be back soon :) xxx

We were expecting crudity and bad language so it wasn't a surprise. Anyone who doesn't like that should stay away. Found the start of the show a bit drawn out but it improved and we enjoyed the rest where more singing was involved.
The food was delicious and beautifully served.

Where do I start. One of the best shows I’ve seen. If you are in Cape Town don’t miss this, you will only regret it. Brendan and the team are fantabulous entertainers, we didn’t stop laughing. Food glorious. Seeing this just once is not enough.

Drag, drinks, dinner and a damn fine time was had by all.
A truely wonderful evening out in Cape Town.

Many thanks to the super professional gate 69 team. We had a booking issue that was dealt with with both gracefully and generously.

It was our first visit, but certainly not the last.

Highly recommend

What a wonderful evening, from the moment you arrive and are greeted on the red carpet to the moment you leave with love & hugs. And, in the middle of all that great food and a fabulous non stop show. Thank you boys you do yourself proud! You certainly impressed us boys from Manchester UK!

Why a blushing bride? Because I left with aching cheeks I had laughed to much through the evening.
This was my first time at this magnificent venue. What a brilliant evening it was. Firstly you are greeted by the lovely ladies at the door and made to feel welcome, the bar staff are brilliant and the drink selection, even more so. The venue is opulent as it should be and crowded by adoring patrons. The servers were also the performers who were exceptional both on and off stage. The tapas style dinner was simply out of this world, I would love to spend an evening in the kitchen to steal their brilliant trade secrets.
The show, well that changes every few months, but I can tell you it was slick and the sound balance perfect.
If you are a visitor or a local, you have not been to Cape Town unless you have experienced Gate 69.
