I have a great time with Christine and lucky to have her as our tour guide. She is just simple amazing lady, passionate about her work, very knowledgeable, funny , helpful and have a great sense of humour.
I enjoy every minute of the tour; all the activities from canoeing, hiking, wine tasting, braai - experiencing SA favourite past time & safaris. It is well thought through the itinerary. I am a solo female traveller, I choose to stay at guesthouse option. some of the accommodation just stunningly beautiful with their deco and a great sea view.
Highly recommend this tour to anyone who wishes to explore the garden route. Sometimes if you have a tour guide like Christine, just make a huge difference, so many happy memories and an unforgettable holiday.

Hello, Thank you for the beautiful review! It's wonderful to hear that you had such a great time on the Garden Route with Christine. She is a passionate guide and loves to show off South Africa. We are very blessed to have a fantastic team of guides doing our Garden Route tours. It's very true what you say; the guide is such an important part of the experience. We're so happy you enjoyed all the activities, safari and our specialty - a South African braai! :) Thank you for choosing Earthstompers. Safe Travels, Cindy & the Earthstompers Team

Earthstompers was the first stop on my African vacation and it went off perfectly.

I wasn’t able to make the first day of the tour due to flight schedules, but Earthstompers office was able to arrange transport for me to join the tour the evening of the first day. The transfer was seamless and well co-ordinated.

I joined a tour with Christine and she was all around excellent. She clearly loves her job and her enthusiasm comes out that makes the tour that much more fun.

The tour itself offers a balance of seeing the highlights of the garden route in a 5 day period. You could easily spend two weeks doing it yourself, and I could have used more time in the national parks but I can’t fault the itinerary Earthstompers built out for 5 days. If I had more time I would have rented a car in Port Elizabeth and drove back myself to focus on points that I was interested in.

I went with the solo room hostel option, and be aware none of the accommodations had generators. Load shedding in parts of the garden route was up to 12 hours a day, so don’t expect electricity when you need it. This is outside of the control of Earthstompers so I don’t fault them for it, but I wish they would offer a set of accommodations that consistently offered generators. For the early spring in South Africa this meant rather cold nights without heaters, generally sufficient blankets were provided though.

I would recommend just flying back from Port Elizabeth the same day the tour ends, the drive back is along the same route and just seems very long.

Good day, Thank you very much for giving us a 5-star review! We're happy to hear that you enjoyed our Garden Route & Addo tour with Christine. It's great to hear that you enjoyed the sites visited along the way. As you suggest, many of our guests opt for the one-way tour to Gqeberha, and then make their own way back to Cape Town at a leisurely pace, returning to places they wanted to spend more time in. The Garden Route has so much to offer and this tour is a good introduction to see a lot in a short space of time. Our accommodation partners do their best to accommodate guests as best they can, despite loadshedding making things inconvenient at times. They supply additional lighting, and can usually assist with charging your devices at reception, should you urgently need power. We also have the option to charge devices while driving in our vehicle. The power outages' duration is usually about 2 hours at a time. Guides have the loadshedding schedule so they assist in preparing guests when there will be a power outage. Thank you for choosing to travel with us. Safe Travels Cindy & the Earthstompers team

We did 3 separate day trips with Earth Stompers, we emailed to say what we would like to do and they organised the trips for us (with an option to change/add things as we wanted). They emailed to let us know who our guide was going to be, Mark was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable, an excellent driver, accommodating to our requests, suggested excellent places to eat and was happy to take family photographs etc.

Would certainly recommend this company, a customer/friend of ours recommended them and we would have not hesitation in passing on recommendations. We are planning to revisit in a couple of years and will be contacting them again to organise some more trips (hopefully with Mark).

I don't even know where to begin as there is so much to say! First, Cindy in the office is an incredible person and so knowledgeable! We were planning trips to take safely in a post lockdown/travel now allowed world so it was unique! I first did West Coast trip for 2 days and Garden Route for 4 nights/5 days on separate trips! AMAZING. I can't possibly write this review without mentioning the Guide, Rochelle. I can't say enough amazing things about Rochelle. She has incredible energy, enthusiasm, professionalism and is dedicated to her job. She is meant to work with people. It is her focus to ensure you are having the trip of a lifetime, she cares so much about each client. I know we will keep in touch for a lifetime. I haven't often traveled with a guide so it was wonderful to learn more about South Africans. She would chat with locals and we truly were connected to the people in each area. She ensured we saw whales and spectacular scenery. She knows I love food so was particular with all the foodie stops. I am so thankful for Earthstompers, Cindy and Rochelle! No matter where you go with them it will be great! They have many fantastic relationships with accommodations and local onsite activities in each area etc.. Thank you team!

I came across Earthstompers on the internet and so glad I did! We wanted a bespoke tour starting from Cape Town to the East Cape via the Garden Route. We gave them a 'wish list' and several emails later we had our bespoke itinerary. We met our guide/driver, Steph, who soon became part of our family. The weather mean't some of our activities were cancelled (or changed), but Steph always managed to suggest an alternative activity. She kept our spirits up, when they were down due to a drizzly and cloudy day. There was always a 'coffee stop' to start our day off with Steph knowing the best places along the way. She was fun and enthusiastic with a vast amount of knowledge. (Thank you to Cindy too who helped reorganise some of our activities in the background.) We had a snapshot of SA and would love to return in the future to explore more of the Garden Route (Hermanus/Knynsa/Plattenberg Bay) in the warmer weather. Cannot recommend Earthstompers highly enough. Their team whether office based or on the road are an absolute credit to them!

We took a full day trip on Cape Peninsula with Earthstompers after our very positive experience planning our Garden Route trip with them. Our guide Khotso was remarkable, extremely positive and knowedgeable man, who not only made his best in taking us to all the placing avoiding the crowds (we visited Cape Peninsula few days before New Year), but also provided us with so much info not only for the places we visited, but also about South Africa. He was extremely flexible to our wishes and spending a day with him was truly one of the best experiences in SA. Highly recommended :).

Hi Pierina, Thanks very much for the great review and mentioning both the group and private tours you did with us. We're happy to hear that you had a good tour on both occasions. Thanks for the compliments and for recommending our services. It's so awesome to know that you enjoyed your visit to South Africa and managed to avoid the major crowds over the busiest time of the festive season in South Africa! :D Great! Thanks for taking the time to give us feedback, much appreciated. Safe Travels Cindy & the Earthstompers Team

The tour was overall really great. Unfortunately some parts had to be cancelled due to weather, such as the ostrich farm being flooded, and the road to the penguines had a mudslide and was closed. But or guide Garette did his best to replan and work with the parameters given.
Everything that we was able to do was super fun. And Earthstomphers had a good communication channel giving us information every step of the way. Only thing I have to remark on is if you are vegan, some of the places we stayed at didn't really understand that vegans need protein as well. So be prepared to secure your own proteins for the meals. Usually doable when the tour stops at supermarkets.

As part of our honeymoon in South Africa, my husband and I had a private three-day tour of the Garden Route with Christine, a tremendous guide who seamlessly molded the experience around our needs and preferences. The tour included a stay at a beautiful waterfront hotel in Knysna; a luxury sunset cruise and dinner in Knysna; a breathtaking coastal hike at Robberg preserve; visits to animal sanctuaries near Plettenberg Bay / The Crags that included feeding elephants, an open-air monkey sanctuary (more like a rainforest, filled with amazing monkeys!), and a large, lovely aviary; and canoeing on a river in Wilderness. She then drove us all the way back to Cape Town with lunch near the beach in Mossel Bay and, finally, a stop at a scenic winery in Stellenbosch. We had an incredible experience that far exceeded any reasonable expectations. I highly recommend Christine and Earthstompers to anyone looking to check out the Garden Route.

My wife myself spend some wonderful days in South Africa not in the least due to several activities that we booked with Earthstompers (
To begin with, we took three one day tours around Cape Town. Wine district and wine testing and Table Mountain, Cape Peninsula and a foodie tour. These three days were absolutely extraordinary not in the least due to our guide Rochelle. Very attentive to our particular interest, always with a smile on her face and a joke but mostly with a vast knowledge of the area and its history.
Thank you so very much Rochelle for your spirit and enthusiasm.

Then we went on a 6-day Garden Route tour. This is a very well-organized tour with lots of activities. From the whales at Hermanus through canoeing in the wilderness, the elephants at Ado Park, skydiving and bunji-jumping or the spectacular cost views. Special thanks to our tour guide Brad for being not only very knowledgeable in everything related to the covered area (fauna and flora and history and much more) but also great fun to be around and very attentive to our requests during the tour.
Brad you were great!

We chose Earth Stompers to help us plan the most of our time in South Africa, visiting the most beautiful places along the way.

We received an amazing service from beginning to end. Cindy was brilliant at planning the trip, working with us and responding super quick to all our questions.

Our tour guide Ferne was just awesome!! So friendly and knowledgeable… we hit it off immediately and felt totally at ease and safe under her expert guidance ( if you’re lucky she might even point out the elusive broccoli trees :) ).

Their combined experience ensured we visited the most amazing places, making memories that will stay with us forever.

High five to everyone at Earth Stompers… we’ll definitely be back!
