My husband, my sister, her husband, and I traveled to Namibia and Victoria Falls with Neil de Jonge in June of 2021. It was a wonderful trip. Neil did a great job planning the trip. Neil met us at the airport in Johannesburg. From there we traveled to Windhoek, Namibia. Then we visited Sossussvlei, the Skeleton Coast, Twyfelfontein, and Etosha National Park in Namibia. From there we went to see the falls at Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. Neil booked us in beautiful places. He guided us through each transition and drove us to various locations so we did not have to worry about driving ourselves. Neil was the consummate guide. He is extremely knowledgeable and fun. Everything was planned to the last detail, including COVID-19 testing. We plan to book further trips with Neil and Jewel of Africa.

Jewel of Africa was such a pleasure to deal with. Professional and efficient. They were so helpful with finding us the most perfect 3 day Safari in Hoedspruit that met our budget. Doris and Elize were friendly and on the ball with replying to all our needs and questions. Their service is 6 stars and I will definitely be in contact with JoA on my next safari holiday booking. Thank you Elize & Doris!

I started planning our trip to South Africa and got immediately overwhelmed. That is when I came across Elize with Jewel of Africa. She and Doris worked with us closely and guided us creating the perfect itinerary for our family, youngest 7. We travel frequently and by far this was the most relaxed and well-planned trip that we have ever taken. The personalized touch and constant communication was much appreciated. I highly recommend speaking with Elize for any travel to Africa.

I worked closely with Neil to come up with the perfect itinerary for our group of 6. He recommended very good small game lodges and boutique hotels, which are always our preference when traveling. Also recommended great restaurants. All the many logistics worked perfectly. Neil was our guide in Johannesburg and Cape Town. He is lots of fun to be with and is full of information. He is also very flexible and able to move things around easily on your schedule when time constraints or weather dictates. We enjoyed being with him very much.

From the first contact with Jewel of Africa through to the end, everyone at JoA was helpful, friendly, efficient, knowledgeable, and professional. This is a first-class operation that delivered the hoped-for trip of a lifetime. The transfers were seamless. They put us in very nice accommodations throughout the trip; I was stunned by some. The food was always excellent. Pricewise, I would say this is a great value! They really deliver for the money you spend. I found JoA online and was especially excited about their 14-day trip to South Africa's Kruger National Park and nearby game reserves, Cape Town, Victoria Falls, and Chobe National Park in Botswana. Neil was great at working with me to customize the itinerary, including long nights and early mornings for him. He suggested alternatives to some of the specific activities I was less interested in, and waved me away (gently) from a couple of ideas I had that I see now were not the greatest. The online, customized itinerary Neil sent me, including pictures, really brought the trip to life in advance, and it was a terrific planning tool. All our transfers operated smoothly, so we didn't have to worry about what to do when we arrived or departed between locations -- both air and land transfers. Our guides, Jurgen at Kruger and Phelwana and Dave in Cape Town, were knowledgeable and interesting and just simply good people to be around. Great stories, background and context, practically any topic. Jurgen arranged for us on the spur of the moment a walk with lions. Who knew you could even do this, and it was just next door. I look at the video I took on my own phone, and I can't believe I actually got to do this. We had a private lodge at Phelwana with our private pool. The food was excellent! Did we see wildlife! Leopards, lions, buffalo, crocodiles, wild dogs, hippos, giraffes, ostriches, hyenas, zebras, all sorts of warthogs, wildebeast, elands, etc., birds...on and on. So, thanks, Jurgen and our other hired guides on the many game drives. And up close, too! Thanks, Dave, for showing us around Cape Town - the city center, Table Mountain, the Cape Drive, all the way to Cape Agulhas. And wildlife - whales, sea lions, and penguins! To be at the intersection of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans was amazing. The Commodore Hotel near the V&A Waterfront was very nice, and the breakfast was overwhelming and delicious. At Victoria Falls, we loved being at the Royal Livingstone Hotel - top flight resort on the banks of the Zambezi River. We were treated like kings, and the food was great. It was dry season so the falls were really low. However, the helicopter ride was amazing and you could really see the falls. The ride through the canyons was what an IMAX film hopes for. The boat drives on the Chobe River may have been the best of all. With binoculars you could see across the marsh grass to herds of elephants and buffalo and get close to hippos and crocodiles. I would not hesitate to coordinate another trip using JoA. I would 100% recommend it to friends. Thanks, Neil and all, for an astonishing trip.
