I watched a production of Hamlet at this intimate theatre, with the smell of the gorgeous ocean greeting you as you enter. The theatre has a small restaurant on the first floor, with coffee and eats available at the entrance too. Staff were friendly and helpful. The production was excellent, sound was very good and the stage was creatively designed.... More

Date night at the theatre to watch 🎭! Pricilla, Queen of the Desert in Cape Town. What a spectacular production, complete with floating divas, ping-pong-ball-shooting (don’t ask) and a bus that is almost part of the cast. And, it's deliciously, happily, cleverly, upliftingly gay. Definitely not for prudes or homophobes! As a production, it's as good, if not better than... More

We saw the musical "Joseph and the amazing technicolor dream coat" at the theatre last night and it was excellent. The dancing, harmonies, costumes and touch of humour made for a fun, memorable evening. Jonathan Roxmouth as Pharaoh was a treat and Earl Gregory a great choice as Joseph with his musical and dancing ability. Highly recommended :)

Loved the Josephs technicolored dream coat. Great performers and service. Good food but the theatre seats are super hard. Can do with some loving.

The Theatre is well located and we were fortunate to find street parking right outside. Not a huge capacity and seats are comfortable with decent legroom. Bar service was snappy but the coffee side took ages (and made bad coffee) in the interval. Some ice creams would have been good (as with West End shows).

What a pleasant change going to the theatre one night of our holiday. We were staying just round the corner, so this was the perfect opportunity to visit. The theatre is not massive, but the quality of the production was really good. We went to see Josheph..... Great singing and dancing even if the show was not exactly true to... More

Fantastic evening for all ages, probably from about 8 years of age. The Pharaoh (Elvis) stole the show but everyone in the cast was great with a very amusing version of this well known show. Our only very small criticism was that the Joseph character was a bit weak compared to the others. However, a great fun evening for all.

Went to see Mark Banks who performed at this venue. This venue works very well. Parking is limited. The theatre is small and intimate and looks current. Always a pleasure to visit this venue.

Casual and intimate theatre at its best. Theatre on the Bay has hosted many popular small shows over the years. Relaxed atmosphere, with full bar service available. Parking easier than expected.

Theatre on the Bay has been around forever! It's one of the gems in Cape Town and well loved by Capetonions and visitors alike. Alan Committee is one of the regular comedians and good for "laugh out loud" entertainment! "Laughing Matters" was a tonic for me after a hectic season. The shows are varied - some better than others but... More
