My wife and I spent 2 nights here on our way to Cape Town. It was our fourth visit to the park but, owing to the horrific drought and high heat, game viewing. was disappointing. Our accommodation was, however, most comfortable and the airconditioning highly efficient. There is a really nice, large swimming pool. We went for both nights to... More

Great place to chill out for a couple of days, the cottages are fairly new and have all the amenities. good views of the mountains watching Kudu and Zebra;s passing by. There is also an easy to follow excellent fossil trail worth spending an hour or two on a slow walk, there is also a bird hide.

We arrived at our cottage and had not even started unpacking and were treated to Kudu walking and grazing on the plains in front of our cottage and the next morning the amount of birds on the verandah and in the surrounding scrub was amazing the breakfast menu was substantial (included if you stay in the chalets/cottages) and they also... Stayed before but in the cottages. Camp pitches are fine on S African standards not over large. Kitchen area, Bathrooms, Showers are all well kept and clean. Restaurant only open Breakfast and Evening Dinner but rersivations are required via Reception. The shop is well stocked with essentials, Gifts and Alcohol. Game Drives and Supervised walks can be booked but expensive.... More

Stayed two nights at the Park rest camp. The Chalets are very well appointed and give great views over the wide expanses of the Karoo. The camp was quite very restful with a nice pool for those hot days. Lots of tortoises in the camp looking for something green to eat. It was very hot 38 to 40 degrees C... More

It is recommended. Beautiful landscape with a couple of animals and not so crowded. Good for a morning drive. Very chilly in winter !!!

We stayed for 2 nights on their campsite, we were lucky that it wasn't full, so we could find a nice spot with some shade and good privacy (again : 'pick your spot'). The campsite had at least 10 big tortoises walking around, in the evening a couple of spotted eagle owls came by too.. The NP itself has very... More

My best friend and I camped in Karoo NP in a tent for two nights in December (peak/high season). We were amazed at how quiet the park is - blissful! In total, we camped in 6 national parks in one holiday, and Karoo NP's facilities were the best by far. Clean ablutions, a working urn/boiler in the kitchen, taps and... More

The wildlife is not the most interesting, but the view on the mountains and valleys and planes itself makes the park a wonderful experience. The 21/2hour loop is an excellent way of visiting this part of the karoo with its geological history. The fossiel walking loop is very interesting. Don't miss it, it is excellent.

Although this is not a ' big five ' destination the plain's game is plentiful . It was my first sighting of a Cape mountain Zebra . From the porch of your chalet one could observe several species of game while sipping on a cold glass of wine . The sunsets and sunrises are nothing short of spectacular . We... More
