Accessed from the Sun Central building at Sun City, this maze is brilliant. High feature walls prevent you from seeing any visuals that will help establish your bearings or the required route. The maze commences after an uphill walk, including an incredible suspension bridge. This attraction is now free once you have secured entry into Sun City. The entry and exit to the maze is less than 30 metres from the entrance to the Valley of Waves. I suggest you allow 60-90 minutes for the maze (which includes sufficient time for a slow maze solution and a refreshing drink after you succeed) then you can hit the wave pool and the slides.

Usually a one time payment (currently R140 per adult) allows access for the duration of your stay but due to COVID the Maze is closed most days, so you don’t get the same value. None the less it is a novel attraction. I was sad it wasn’t clean. We came across empty beer bottles in the maze, random paper litter and some plastic items such as bottle tops and lip ice that had been discarded on the path. This was surprising as the rest of the resort is spotless. Tip - go in with a plan. Keep left or right only and you should get out of the maze quickly. A bar offering craft beer, soft drinks and ice cream is at the end. There is a quick access route which bypasses the maze if you want to skip it when leaving.

Visiting Sun City for the first time we really enjoyed the Maze, in particular the bar at the end of the maze. This is a well-maintained maze.
It was quiet during our visit, which I think made the experience better.
It was a very hot day when we were at Sun City so the drinks at the end were very enjoyable, particularly the beer sampler board!

As everything in Sun City, admission paid separately. Improvements such as adding characters and paintings in the walls could be made. It’s a nice but not wonderful experience, and the visit ends in a bar.

The maze was fun, perhaps we were lucky but we only hit 3 deadends before getting to the bar at the end.
But at R120 for entry, it is an expensive outing. If the first beer was included in the R120, then it might be more worthwhile.

It was actually quite hard. Great set up
Though, as we paid once we can return as many times as we like throughout our 11 day stay.

Takes a few minutes to complete but the cold beer available at the end makes it all worth it along with a great view.

What are the activities that I can do in september
Written 22 August 2017
Yes you can do it all year round
Written 23 August 2017
We would be visiting 2nd/3rd August. What are the best attractions to go to at that time of year?
Written 3 May 2017
Hello, as its winter, it will be too cold to swim.
You can do the maze, go on a game drive, do the segway tour, play golf, zipline, quadbike, go to kwena crocodile farm and off course visit the Gary Player club spar and get pampered with facials, masages and more. They have a floatation pool there.
Have a good stay

Just wanted to know entry price. We are a family of 2 adults and 4 kids aged 15, 13, 11 and 8.
Would it be possible to incorporate a visit here and an African village tour on the same day?
Thanks
Irena

Hi Irena. The Maze is R120 per person. Not sure about the price for children. It is a nice activity and from the reviews it seems you could do a village visit on the same day.
Cheers
