The mountains are very pretty, many different animals in the reserve. We enjoyed seeing the sunset in the afternoon mostly!

Lovely and well maintained reserve but we have been robbed twice during our stay over the weekend. I was robbed while I was sleeping and someone unzipped my tent, came in and took what they wanted. It really was unpleasant. It seems people wait in the grass and as soon as you go to sleep they come by and try... More

About a month ago my brother and I decided that we wanted to do a hike. We were looking for something challenging. My brother being an experienced hiker said that they did the Baviaanskrans trail about 4 years ago and it was a really nice hike. He suggested that we do The Summit trail also in Kgaswane Nature/Mountain Reserve since... More

We liked Kgaswane so much that we actually went twice during our short stay in Rustenburg. Entrance fee was R40 pp + R20 for the car. On both occasions, there were very few other visitors. Consequently, it felt almost as though we had the place to ourselves. We went for a short hike on both occasions, a really pleasant thing... More

Kgaswane is a hidden gem. It is in the Magalies Mountain Range and has beautiful scenery. There are antelope like Sable Eland, Waterbuck, Reedbuck, Impala and many other to be seen. There is also a stunning waterfall which can be accessed in the company of a park official. There are two two-day hiking trails as well as a group camp... More

Great local nature reserve with small walks, overnight hikes, braai facilities, camping and accomodation. Easy to get to from Gauteng and in Rustenburg. Worth the trip.
