Akwaaba is a stunning place with the most beautifull animals that are very well looked after. Such a big variety of predators and even other animals.

We came across this place through our driver at sun city, reuben. All of the animals here are rescues from one place or another, mostly private owners.. The animals all seem happy and healthy, and the enclosures were large and clean. The grounds were also very well kept, and there was ample signage regarding cautions and safety. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable, and was very clear with all instructions. The walk through is fairly brief, but cool. The cub encounter is really nice, pretty peaceful. The lemur encounter is a blast. You just sit and hold a bowl of fruit, while they climb all over you to get at the grapes. The cheetah encounter is funny, you're a bit scared but they're purring the whole time and just being lazy like a normal cat. The lions though, that'll get your heart going pretty fast. All in all, it's a once in a lifetime experience that absolutely should not be missed.

I have marked down my experience as I didn’t agree with the parks lack of COVID protocols. The moment we started our tour (about 15 - 18 other guests made up of about 5 or 6 couples and families) the guide told us to take off our masks as it was too hot and then asked us to gather closer to her so she didn’t have to shout and for all of us to get a better view. If anyone one of those people had COVID it would likely spread as they were all bunched up together. Tip .. it does get hot and the walking tour is about an hour with little shade, so take water and an umbrella to shield the sun. I also felt some animals were made to perform to get food like the tiger being forced to jump onto the fence to get his treat and I especially didn’t enjoy when the guide pretended to throw meat to the wild dogs which sent them into a frenzy.

Worth every cent. The guide and the touching of the cats were a highlight. You must visit this venue if you are in this area.

Were staying in the area and decided to visit Akwaaba Predator Park on our way home. Had been told we could view the animals without a guide but that information was not correct. Are three main packages with various levels of increased animal interaction plus some additional packages eg Lemur interaction. Thought the pricing a bit on the steep side but went with Package 1 that includes only cub interaction. Our guide was Innocent and he was very informative and explained fully the various animals in the park. I have been to many similar parks and this one certainly had a number of additional unique predators including a strawberry leopard and some very elusive jaguars. Overall was an interesting tour and even if a bit pricey is worth a visit if you are in the area. The park is beautifully maintained and the animals are well looked after and if you want to see some unique animals this is the place to visit.

I have no idea how much this did cost but an awesome experience, throughly enjoyed. Once in a lifetime experience to get to touch a lion and cheetah, and play with the cubs, great fun. Place very well kept, clean and tidy.
