This lovely, smaller national park is a fantastic place to spot antelope as well as giraffe and zebra. The park spans two vegetation zones with the grassy plains of the Vaalbos loop best for Buffalo, Roan antelope and Black Wildebeest. The Camelthorn scrublands provided the best sightings of Giraffe. Don't miss the interpretive centre and the Stofdam bird hide. Allow... More

Arrived at Mokala just outside Kimberley. What a great park. Got a chalet with a view of a waterhole. No need to drive around. Which is great after being behind the wheel for eight hours! The park is clean and well managed. The restaurant is good, but not great. Normal SANPARKS fare. The service at reception is great, apart from... More

Beautiful setting although very dry during our visit - in serious need of rain. Vast grasslands and open spaces with easy viewing of all the major buck species including the gracious Sable. Had an awesome, excellent value for money breakfast in the Lillydale Restaurant.

We ate at the Mosu lodge restaurant a few years ago. I was surprised to see dishes like ox tail and bobootie in the menus. They still have them and they are very good. The lamb shank was also excellent. Very nice service and the setting is very nice as well. Prices are reasonable as well. I would return to... More

We opted to stop over at Mokala en route to a week long stay in Kgalagadi. Good decision. We stayed at Mosu "Lodge" as it is called although in fact it is a camp with around 15 or so chalets. We had 3 chalets booked for our party. One x FB2S - larger chalet with separate king size bedroom &... More

Mokala is a very special place, it's not the largest of the National Parks but it is certainly one of the best, If you want lions leopards and cheetahs then you will be very disappointed, there are no large predators here. However if you want peace and quiet whilst watching the wildlife then this is the place to be. There... More

Spent 3 nights camping at Motswedi. Every camping site has it own kitchen and private bath room. All six sites have their own braai place and you can enjoy your own private view on the water hole. We did self-drive game viewing every day and saw many animals including rhino and buffalo .

Saw so many animals, they looked well fed and healthy. Spent 2 nights at the Lilydale rest camp, self-catering and will go back any day. Mistakenly took the road to the Treehouse - no entry sign should be more prominent.

This is the best of the best of game parks. The accommodation is excellent, so is the food in the restaurant. What was amazing is the abundance of game so close to the road & sort of tame because there are no predators in the park. The veld was lush after very good rains and a bird lover's paradise.

We stayed here twice on our road trip, and enjoyed both chalets. They were clean and well equipped, and the air-conditioning worked well. The units are rustic but modern and well-maintained. The self-drive game viewing we did was fantastic in the mornings and evenings - we saw a great deal of wildlife including many antelope, rhino and buffalo. We also... More
