I’m a teacher in a Village College in the UK and for the past two years I have been in charge of taking a group of students on our Mozambique and Swaziland trips to visit our partner school. The project has been running for eight years and has always Ntwanano run by Sertorio. One of the first comments I heard about Sertorio was “We couldn’t do the trip without him” but only after meeting Sertorio, did I truly understand the full meaning of those words. Effectively, we would not be able to have a successful trip without his help.

Every single year, he has gone above and beyond the call of duty. He has taken us through borders safely and effectively, taking care of all the paperwork. His vehicles have always been clean, well looked after, nice and comfortable even for the very long drive between Johannesburg and Maputo. He is always attentive to our needs and more than once we have boarded the vehicle feeling hot and thirsty to find he had anticipated our needs and a cool box full of cold bottled water was waiting for us in the nicely cooled minibus. His knowledge, life and experience in that part of the world is incredible and his stories spellbinding. He never gets tired or bored of answering again and again, years in years out, the questions our curious students come up with.

He always sorts everything out for our visit to Krugger, so all we do is enjoy the ride. He deals with all the booking, paperwork, problems and our luggage too. This year we’re going again and of course, we wouldn’t think of doing it without him. We trust him fully and we are very lucky to have found someone who is so trustworthy, knowledgeable, dependable and resourceful. He has always exceeded our expectations.

I cannot recommend Sertorio highly enough. It is a privilege to know him.

My wife and I booked a day trip with Ntwanano Tours and Travel to Maputo, Mozambique. We drove from our hotel in Hazyview to the Nelspruit airport to meet our guide, leaving our car in the airport parking lot.
Our guide, Sertorio picked us up and on the 2 hour drive to the border began to discuss with us the history of Mozambique and its rich history with South Africa. Sertorio is very knowledgeable, accomadating and a man with firsthand experience with living in both countries.
Once over the border we drove to Maputo where we first went to the Matola Raid museum and monument where local guides educated on the history of that event. From there we continued to the central Maputo for a panoramic tour including seeing the presidential palace, central train station, and the beach.
After a late lunch of local Maputo cuisine, we drove back to the airport. We didn't realize the airport closed at a certain time and were unable to get in to claim our car. Sertorio was able to get the guards to open the gate and get us our car.
I'm sure there are other tours that will take you to Maputo for the day that are equally comfortable and accommodating. Meeting and talking to Sertorio made the experience. He lived the history of the political and civil unrest in both countries and he is generally a cool guy to speak to. My wife and I were in great hands with this man and so will you and your family.

I had a wonderful experience in Johannesburg and Mpumalanga thanks to Ntwanano Tours and Transfers and its director Sertorio - a friend with whom we studied in the US 15 years ago.
I participated in a conference in Johannesburg in February this year, and decided to stay for three more days for some sightseeing. Time was too short, but I was so fortunate to meet Sertorio and have his assistance and guidance in my travel. Eventually, it appeared that for such a short period of time I managed to see pretty many important sights in this area of South Africa.
On the first day Sertorio took me to some houses of his relatives around Johannesburg, where I got a feeling of the authentic culture, of how people live here and how interact within families. It was such a valuable experience! Plus, the whole trip was accompanied with stories of Sertorio about the South African people and the country.
Then he took me to Mpumalanga province - closer to the Kruger National Park, one of the largest game reserves in Africa. I stayed at Sertorio’s hospitable family house over the night so that to be closer to the park and be able to enter it early in the morning, when there was more chance to see some of the big mammals. The whole next day I was on a safari and was so lucky to see all the Big Five - lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos and buffaloes as well as many other animals and unique birds throughout the day. In the evening I returned to Johannesburg.
On the third day I was traveling inside Johannesburg with a local guide arranged by Sertorio and managed to visit the major sights of the city - the Aparteid Museum, Soweto, Nelson Mandela’s museum, Hector Pieterson museum, Constitution Hill and some others. These places were located rather far from each other. As public transportation is not well developed in South Africa, for a tourist is not always safe and easy to travel around, so I would never manage to see all these within one day without the support of the guide. In spite of the fact that everything was well arranged, Sertorio kept calling during the day to make sure that I am fine and enjoy the trip.
This was the first trip in my life when I was not thinking about travel arrangements, tickets, accommodation, safety due to Sertorio’s exceptionally careful and responsible attitude. I am not sure about other companies working in this area, but I am highly impressed with my friend’s performance and would highly recommend Sertorio and his Ntwanano Tours and Transfers for travelers.

I decided at 11am on Saturday morning that I wanted to head to Swaziland and Sertorio of Ntwanano Tours was only to happy to oblige. So after picking me up from Chimp Eden in Nelspruit (an awesome educational experience in itself) we headed for Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctury later that afternoon.

What I hadn't anticipated was an amazing political and social insight into apartheid South Africa from a guide who had grown up in Soweto and ended up travelling the world. We arrived before 7pm at Mlilwane and after a buffet dinner and a cultural dance, I headed to my traditional "beehive" for the night.

The next morning at 7am, I ventured off on my 2 hour walk with my guide Stu and what a walk it was. After placing an order (McDonalds style - I'd like some crocs, hippos, monkeys and warthogs - hold the cane rats) we'd ticked the lot off within the first 30 minutes. Stu then showed me how to stalk wildebeest before we headed back to watch the hippos frolic in the waterhole over breakfast.

Later that morning, I decided the round trip via Mozambique was in order and again Sertorio was only to happy to drive to Maputo, a city he'd spent 14 years in. This gave us more time for more insight into both Swaziland and Mozambique's somewhat dubious leadership.

We made it to Maputo in time for sunset after an adventure off the beaten track into a small Swazi village and headed to Caso do Sol for dinner. Whilst the locals continued some serious post-beach partying at the waterfront.

It was the most amazing spontaneous adventure and I can not recommend Sertorio highly enough. If you are in the Nelspruit region and looking for something a little different with an insight that you wouldn't ordinarily get, try Sertorio on www.ntwananotours.co.za.

We booked a 5 days safari (4 days in Kruger + 1 day panorama). First of all let me say Khensani was wondeful and soooo patient with me planning this trip. My plans changed a lot, it took me a while to make up my mind and she never gave up on me. I could not be more happy with what we finally decided on. Then, Sertorio. His skills as a guide are amazing (we spotted the big 5 within the first 24 hrs of our our safari, unbelievable), but on top of that he is a wonderful person, very inspiring. All the work that he does for people with specials needs (ex, tours for the blinds) completely blew my mind. I consider myself lucky to have met him and enjoyed his company immensely. He also was very kind and patient with us, fulfilling all our expectations, and more. I definitely can't recommand them enough, everything was simply so amazing, there is no words for it.

I had a great experience with Ntwanano Tours. I did not have much time or money for an expensive tour. They develop a tour to meet my budget and limited vacation time. On the journey from Mozambique to Swaziland I learned a lot about the history, culture and life of Swazi people. For the tour, I was able to see both natural beautiful wonders and historical sites. I was also able to do some shopping which was a great bonus. I highly recommend this tour company. You will not be disappointed with the service.

We wanted to travel from Nelspruit to Maputo by land. Doctor at Sand River Lodges arranged the transport with Sentorio.
As the information regarding the need for prearranged visas were inconsistent it was a blessing to have Sentorio accompanying us through the border control and visa at arrival counters.
The ride went smooth and we learned a lot about the history and development of the region since Sentorio does now his history and the countries together with a perspective acquired by studying and living abroad.
Highly recommended

We had arranged through another tour operator for a driver to be take us from Kruger to Maputo, Mozambique. Due to a last minute passport issue with that driver, Sertorio Mshothola, owner of Ntwanano Tours was contacted to take his place. Talk about fate working in our favor!?! Not only did he arrive in a large, brand new vehicle, what a joy to spend 5 hours with him on two separate occasions. His background encompasses immense insight into South Africa-- in fact he was chosen to be Matt Lauer's personal guide for the Today Show episodes recently shot in South Africa. He has also lived in Mozambique, totally fluent in Portugese, English, and numerous African dialects. He has a wonderful sense of humor, loves classical music and every need or last minute request we had, he honored. We thought we'd have to stow some luggage--no problem, he'd take care of it. We wondered aloud about needing some information about Johannesburg--a quick phone call lined us up with a guide and a driver if we wanted them. We also had the delightful surprise of getting a chance to see some handmade silver and bead jewelry is daughter made that was so well done and affordable, we purchased some for our children and grandchildren on the spot--all while being comfortably chauffeured between countries. He made sure we made all our helicopter and airline connections and steered us through all customs encounters. To say he exceeded our expectations is an understatement. All we needed was a driver and we got so much more. Great gentleman who we are happy to give our highest praise--thank you Sertorio!

We were collected very promptly from Cheetah Plains in Sabi Sands by our driver Sertorio in a lovely clean 4WD vehicle - very comfortable and spacious.
Sertorio was very engaging and chatty and we very much enjoyed his company.
He was very knowledgeable and made the long drive very pleasant. Lots of stops along the way and was very mindful of ensuring we were very ok and got to our destination in good time. The entry process at the border was very easy as we had visas already.
Thank you Sertorio and we hope you have many clients travelling with you in the future

Mr Sertorio, our tour guide was very professional and always punctual not forgetting knowledgeable. Upon arrival at Maputo International Airport we found him waiting for us to shuttle us to our hotel. The next day we had our tour of Maputo. He took us to most if not all the places of interest and his knowledge of the area was very impressive. Some of the tourist attractions included: The Botanical Gardens (with Samora Machel's Statue); the white church; the beautiful Maputo train station; the Markets; the Governor's House made from zinc which was shipped from Portugal as well as the murals depicting some of Samora Machel's famous quotations. We also went to the township and the entire experience was an eye opener.
The day after we went to Macaneta Island where we spend the day. It was a day well spent - the island is really beautiful and the lunch was scrumptuous in particular the fish - my son still salivates when he talks about it.

Although he couldn't shuttle us back to the airport on our departure as previously arranged, he made sure that he made proper arrangements with the hotel for shuttle services.

It was an unforgettable holiday made it even better by Ntwanano Safaris.
