In this two-part safari, we drove to the national park in the morning. After a lunch break at the accommodation, the boat tour followed in the afternoon.
We were picked up from our accommodation early in the morning. We drove to the national park, which is about an hour away, in a 9-seater vehicle. Once we got there, we were quickly told that several lions had been spotted, which we really chased and luckily found. This animal encounter was a big highlight, but in our opinion there was no respect for the animals or other vehicles. Otherwise, this safari was relatively uneventful. The day before, we had seen significantly more animals (especially rhinos) up close in our own vehicle.
The boat safari in the afternoon was, as expected, a little less spectacular. Right at the beginning, right next to the bridge, we saw a nice group of hippos, and shortly afterwards the only crocodile. So it was certainly nice and relaxing, but not extremely worthwhile...
In any case, pack a jacket because of the wind or the wind on the boat!

Jason did a great job - he told stories about the animals’ lives and their lifestyles as we were driving over some of the most rugged roads and countryside in Southern Africa.

I had my two boys, my wife and two female friends that we’ve known most of our lives.

We all felt very comfortable and relaxed as Jason took charge of the Safari.

We stopped on a beautiful hilltop with 360° panoramic views as Jason prepared breakfast coffee and pastries.

We then proceeded to observe large herds of giraffe, water buffalo, rhinoceros, warthog, impala, monkeys, birds and elephants.

For lunch, Jason stopped on the river side and, as we looked for crocodiles, he prepared grilled steaks and sausage.

After, I took a nap on the riverside as Jason regaled the ladies with stories of his Ranger training and surviving in the African bush for a year with nothing but a pocket knife and his bare hands…

We would definitely return, perhaps during a different season for a different experience with the animals, to the park for another Safari.

If you do, make sure to ask for Jason the Ranger and you’ll experience an amazing Safari!

My family and I had initially booked the sunrise boat and safari tour for December 2020 but due to a covid scare we couldn’t travel and had to postpone to January 2021. I sent an email and got a phone call immediately, and our postponement was done with no issues. We thoroughly enjoyed both the boat cruise and the safari. Both guides were amazing and answered all our questions! I’ll definitely book with Heritage tours again!

Visiting from Australia.
We participated in a Sunset Safari, Full Day Safari and Sunset river cruise.
The guides were excellent for all 3 activities, professional, knowledgeable and friendly.
The breakfast and lunch provided on the full day safari was lovely!
The snacks for the Sunset safari were also great!
We had some amazing wildlife encounters across the 3 parks including black and white rhino, a bathing elephant, hippos and so much more.
Heritage Day Tours & Safaris was wonderful, from the moment we booked until the drop off at the end of our final safari. Communication was excellent. Pick up for each safari was punctual.
Loved every minute, will return!

We did the sunset, the big 5 and the wetlands. One of our guides was Kyle. What a great guide he is. You can feel that he really loves his job. As he said: he has the best job with the most beautiful view. We did the sunset tour, the big 5 game tour, the wetlands and the boat cruise to the hippos. The organization is great!!! Also their stay: Heritage House is great!!! We can only recommend this to everyone to book with Heritage Tours & Safaris. I can post 1000 pictures, but Africa has to be experienced, and through Heritage Tours & Safaris is the best way to fall in love with this beautiful country.

I could not be more satisfied with this adventure. The best aspect of this tour was definitely the guide - Senzo. He has enormous knowledge about animals and local culture, what's more he is very passionate about work he does. I wish everybody to have Senzo in charge of their's Safaris. His skills in the field were amazing. He kneew where to find animals, especially the "big five". I was very impressed that he found lions that are not so easy to see. Everything was well planned including breakfast and lunch. We were not in rush at all. That was very chillin' day when I really took rest and forgot about the surrounding world's problems. I recommend this Safari, especially with Senzo to everybody - families, group of friends or lone travellers. You will not be disappointed!

Very good service, they pick you Up in the morning at your hotel/Apartment and Drive with you to the park.
The Drive lasts around an our in the morning and you geht blankets against the cold morning Wind.
They try to Show you all the animals in the park. WE were Lucky and saw nearly all animals, lions, giraffs, rhinos, buffalos, elefants, ....
After some time you will get a small breakfast and Coffee and also some juce and water.

Our Guide Lindo was very good! He told us a lot about the animals we saw, was very polite and a good Driver. He tried everything that we could see all animals and the best Panorama Views over the park. I can only recommend in choosing Lindo!

The Price of ~60€ (1050 ZAR) for a half day Tour is vindicated. There is also a full day Tour with Lunch for around 1250 ZAR. But in my eyes there is no need for this Tour because half day is already very Long and in the noon hours of the day the animals are either way hiding or sleeping because of the Heat.

One little improvement proposal are the seats of the Car, they are Not that comfortable but its okay anyway.

Would book again!

We have just completed a three day two night safari. The first evening is a hippo and croc tour with lots to see at a very pleasant speed on a boat. Day 2 was the highlight. John was the guide and was extremely knowledgable and informative. We saw lots of animals, rhino, elaphants, giraffe, but sadly no predators. The park is enormous so you won’t be guaranteed to see everything. The highlight had to be sat in between a herd of elephants as they slowly marched their way across the road.
The evening trip was equally good with Sibo finding a hyena, giraffe, buffalo, wildebeest and a huge list of other animals.
The final day is a coastal safari, whist there are less animals it was in no way any less enjoyable. The highlight (for me at least) was watching the dung beetles roll balls of dung up the road.
The accommodation is very nice and the team are great. I would thoroughly recommend this trip, it is also an easy drive from Durban if you have your own hire car.

My cousin and I had a wonderful full day safari and we were very pleased and impressed with every aspect of the tour. Our driver/guide Senzo and his assistant Vusi were professional and extremely accommodating. Senzo was particularly knowledgeable having grown up in the area and answered many questions asked by everyone on our trip. There were 5 of us in total. Breakfast and a braai lunch were both fresh, delicious and well presented. We saw a great variety of animals and birds but unfortunately were not lucky enough to see any of the big cats. Maybe next time.

I would highly recommend this safari - you will not be disappointed.

We went on a full day Safari with our guide Kyle. We saw Rhinos, grumpy looking Buffalos, Elephants, cute baby warthogs and many more animals.
Breakfast was provided, as well as a delicious braai for lunch: sausage and steak, masterfully grilled by Kyle. He took his time to explain us all about the animals and our surrounding and was overall cool to hang out with for the Safari.
Would recommend.
