In this two-part safari, we drove to the national park in the morning. After a lunch break at the accommodation, the boat tour followed in the afternoon.
We were picked up from our accommodation early in the morning. We drove to the national park, which is about an hour away, in a 9-seater vehicle. Once we got there, we were quickly told that several lions had been spotted, which we really chased and luckily found. This animal encounter was a big highlight, but in our opinion there was no respect for the animals or other vehicles. Otherwise, this safari was relatively uneventful. The day before, we had seen significantly more animals (especially rhinos) up close in our own vehicle.
The boat safari in the afternoon was, as expected, a little less spectacular. Right at the beginning, right next to the bridge, we saw a nice group of hippos, and shortly afterwards the only crocodile. So it was certainly nice and relaxing, but not extremely worthwhile...
In any case, pack a jacket because of the wind or the wind on the boat!
