We have just completed a three day two night safari. The first evening is a hippo and croc tour with lots to see at a very pleasant speed on a boat. Day 2 was the highlight. John was the guide and was extremely knowledgable and informative. We saw lots of animals, rhino, elaphants, giraffe, but sadly no predators. The park is enormous so you won’t be guaranteed to see everything. The highlight had to be sat in between a herd of elephants as they slowly marched their way across the road.
The evening trip was equally good with Sibo finding a hyena, giraffe, buffalo, wildebeest and a huge list of other animals.
The final day is a coastal safari, whist there are less animals it was in no way any less enjoyable. The highlight (for me at least) was watching the dung beetles roll balls of dung up the road.
The accommodation is very nice and the team are great. I would thoroughly recommend this trip, it is also an easy drive from Durban if you have your own hire car.

We had chosen a 2 days package Safari and included pick up from Durban and staying in the At Heritage B&B lodge. It was more than we could have hoped for. Not only did we have a huge room with the biggest bathroom we have ever seen in our lives, we had great breakfasts and the ladies who are house keepers are sweethearts! The tours are amazing. The sunset tour was fantastic, saw a Rhino, saw elephants and a zebra and a baby crocodile and lots of singing or whistling frogs. But the main Safari was on the full day on Saturday and we saw all the animals one would hope for, including 3 lions on the prowl, except the leopard, but you name it they were there. The package tour also included the river cruise and that was that Saturday night at sunset, with a real beautiful sunset. Hippos everywhere. Then that tour guide said the hippos might walk into town so keep your eyes open. I couldn't quite believe that but lo and behold, later that evening, the hippo's , all 6 of them came walking right into town. Unbelievable! My jaw dropped to the floor( almost) The next day, which is really the 3rd day, they took us to Cape Vidal to see the beach and do some snorkelling. That was a great outing and I love that! That same they, they organised transport back to Durban.
The only thing that could have been handled better at the end was me paying at the desk instead of doing it later via internet and also we swapped the tours around because the day that we arrived, we missed the river cruise, which was just as well and we had the better one the next day( the sunset river cruise) But I cannot really fault anything because I would highly recommend this Heritage tours. They are very reasonably priced, and value for money.
I want to come back because I didn't see enough of St Lucia. So see you in a few years maybe.

When I spoke to Mandy, the owner, all I said was I wanted to have safari experience for my 50th birthday. She arranged everything, including accommodation perfectly. I was booked into all the tours they provide. The full day and half a day game drives to Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park were fantastic. We saw plenty of wild animals including a herd of elephants having fun in the water and brand-new baby giraffe with its mother. It was a great experience to see the animals in their natural habitat. Zayne was amazing, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable and I was very lucky to have gone with him on other tours as well. I was very surprised when Zayne brought out a beautiful cake and a bottle of drink for my birthday during our lunch during the game drive. There was also a card and a gift waiting for me at the hotel from the management when I came back from the tour. My guides Theo who came on the iSimangaliso wetland park full day drive & Cape Vidal and Thembo, who took me on the sunset game drive were equally great with their knowledge about birds and of the shoreline ecosystem. Cape Vidal was gorgeous, even though it was rainy day, and we didn’t get to go in the sea. I loved the Elephant interaction at Bayote Zulu where you can interact and learn about the history of their resident elephants Rachel and Rambo. They also offer Zulu culture tour as well where you can get to visit a traditional Zulu house, learn about Zulu culture, and watch Zulu dancing. Mpume, who was my guide was fantastic in explaining all about Zulu culture and she even made me dance with the Zulu dancers. I must mention how organized these tours were here, especially the braai lunch, breakfast, and snacks for the game drives. All the food was packed individually for each guest. Thea and her team from At Heritage House do a fantastic job organizing the food for each tour, including providing for all dietary requirements. I had tasty plant-based sausages for the braai and lots of vegetarian snacks. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience and making my birthday very special.

My family and I had initially booked the sunrise boat and safari tour for December 2020 but due to a covid scare we couldn’t travel and had to postpone to January 2021. I sent an email and got a phone call immediately, and our postponement was done with no issues. We thoroughly enjoyed both the boat cruise and the safari. Both guides were amazing and answered all our questions! I’ll definitely book with Heritage tours again!

Extremely efficient but unhurried safari packages. Enjoyed full day safari to Hluluwe-Imfoloze park. Saw many rhino, elephant, giraffe, zebra, cape buffalo, impala and other hoofed animals, warthogs. No big cats, hyena, or wild dogs on our visit. Late afternoon float trip to see hippos was fascinating. Highlights of the night safari were hippos out of water and chameleons believe it or not; no leopard siting. Trip to the beach and picnic lunch at Cape Vidal was wonderful, just watch out for giant flying dung beetles (they are huge) when driving and velvet monkeys at the picnic grounds which will poach your food in the blink of an eye if you let them! Highly recommended.

This game park is easy to access from Durban. Just a couple of hour drive. We stayed in St Lucia which the tour departed from and is a great area to stay - loads of great places to eat and next to a river with loads of hippos.

We booked a private tour as there was 4 of us and very happy we did as we could move around the vehicle as needed. The company looked after us well. Lovely breakfast, a basket of snacks, treats and biltong and great barbecue for lunch. There were even blankets when things got a bit cold and rainy at one point.

The game park was fantastic and the kids loved it. I've been to loads all throughout Africa and this was one of the top for me. Saw a ton of elephants, rhinos, giraffes, warthog, impala, warter buffalo up close as well as baboons, cameleon, a pack of young male lions, tortoise, vultures, eagles, wilderbeast and more. The full day was 10 hours but the kids were never bored.

Big thanks to our excellent guide Jabu. Even though he was driving it was crazy the amount of animals he could spot often well hiden in the distance. He even spotted a cameleon on the road in front of us, stopped and carefully placed him back in the bushes so he was safe. He was very knowledgeable and looked after us well even having to cook the barbecue lunch outside when we were hit by a sudden downpour. He was great with the kids taking time to help them look through the binoculars and generally spot the animals.

From arranging our tour with Bev via email, transferring to and from Durban and during our tours and safaris we were looked after.

Right from reception we were submerged in old world charm with the rooms and staff topping off the experience.

The staff were very knowledgeable, friendly and welcoming making us feel very safe.

The rooms are spacious and very clean with comfortable large beds and large bathrooms.
Breakfasts were scrumptious and delightful with our dietary needs catered for thoroughly and the house staff Thea, Lee and Zanelle looking after us like royalty.

We enjoyed every moment of our trip as we compiled a custom package which included an extra safari as well as a horse ride on the beach and in the bush with the zebras.

Theo, Jabu and Bheki conducted our safaris their knowledge of the area and animals was unmatched, making us feel very safe and comfortable. The guides work hard to get you the best animal viewing.

Theo had an immense knowledge of the animals in the wetlands and Imfolozi, Mission Rocks and Cape Vidal allowing us the opportunity to snap some very memorable photos. While Jabu had an outstanding repertoire of bird knowledge and calls associated with the uMkuze game reserve. Bheki showed us the most beautiful sunset over the wetlands and found a family of elephants crossing our path allowing some excellent photographs.

We saw so many animals and birds on each of our safaris, the only one we missed seeing was the illusive leopard. The scenery in the parks is breathtaking.

St Lucia is a vibrant small town hosting numerous restaurants within easy walking distance to our accomodation. We were sad to leave. Saint Lucia has left an indelible mark on our hearts.

My cousin and I had a wonderful full day safari and we were very pleased and impressed with every aspect of the tour. Our driver/guide Senzo and his assistant Vusi were professional and extremely accommodating. Senzo was particularly knowledgeable having grown up in the area and answered many questions asked by everyone on our trip. There were 5 of us in total. Breakfast and a braai lunch were both fresh, delicious and well presented. We saw a great variety of animals and birds but unfortunately were not lucky enough to see any of the big cats. Maybe next time.

I would highly recommend this safari - you will not be disappointed.

unfortunately we were disappointed with the poor service. we only had one night in saint lucia and were really looking forward to the hippo tour. We reserved the tour via whatsapp and asked to keep two places free because unfortunately we had no internet. the next day it was announced that the tour is fully booked. we are terribly upset. that is not possible. attached the screenshot of the chat history.
