We had an awesome snorkling trip in the so called aquarium in Kosi Bay. Cristal clear water and so many different species to see. Rick was really nice, explained a lot and answered all our questions. After the snorkel he took time to discuss the sightings with a warm coffee. We enjoyed it very much and recommend to do that snorkling when visiting the area of Kosi Bay (Kosi mouth). Thanks Rick for that experience 😀

We wanted to snorkel in Cape Vidal. Unfortunately it was mega windy that day, so the start was delayed by an hour. That wasn't bad on such a beautiful beach. An hour later, the conditions were still not optimal, but we decided to go snorkeling anyway. Unfortunately, only part of the reef was accessible to us and the waves and the current were so strong that you had to hold on to it properly. The water was also so shallow that I was a bit afraid of hurting myself somewhere. Next time, why don't you borrow a Neo for 50 R? So we unfortunately saw little, but the guides were super nice & we were glad to have been in the water.

We did both the fish trap kayaking tour, and the aquarium snorkelling... What amazing trips, highlights of our stay in Kosi Bay! I would highly recommend both. We were in the hands of highly competent and skilful guides, who were passionate about the area and their work.

We have just returned from our second adventure with Rick and elìse, but this year with our daughter jade and her husband Harry.
It takes us about 20 hours to get here from England, but boy is it worth it, everything thing they do comes from the heart, the snorkeling trip is the highlight of our trip, in fact so good we did it twice, somewhere between 80 and 100 varieties spotted all in total safety.
We found ourselves constantly calling rick and Simon over with what's that one and that one?
from them, not really knowing what to expect, food was delicious
Acomodation was sublime beautifully constructed, private and relaxing.
We also went on the bird walk, right on our doorstep beautiful unspoilt countryside. We have been to an awfull lot of beautiful locations but this is our favourite.
All made possible by this gorgeous couple.

Time for us to start building the next Forest Hideaway unit in Kosi Mouth and for you to bring the whole family! Looking forward to that one! Warm regards, Rick, Elise and Maya

Ian was great and patient especially as my youngest daughter was nervous. Once in the water, we had a blast. We didn't use wetsuits because it was a hot day (34C) and the water temp was also warm. However, you do get close to rocks etc and I think wetsuits would be a good idea to prevent scratches and cuts. I suppose it depends how deep you go. Also follow the advice given by the team- get there a little earlier and enjoy the whole Cape Vidal experience. The water was crystal clear with no large waves although we warned about currents further out. The hides in the park are well maintained and we spotted hippos and many bird species. We also saw a white rhino about 5 m from the road as we drove back.

Safari & Surf basically took care of all our activities. Everything was well organized and really the only way to experience the area is with Rick, his knowledge of the birds, fish, insects, fauna and flora means you leave with a new appreciation of the area. Thanks for going the extra mile Rick!

We had such a nice experience with sakhile. We could book the walking safari the evening before as we had not quite organized our trip. The next morning, we met at the croc center and began to explore the neighborhood. During 2 hours, Sakhile showed us how to call the birds, how to open and taste fruits, and most important, how to understand better Zulus traditions and language. The route was easy and quiet. We saw zebras, warthog, impalas, and he would explain every time everything to us.
We warmly recomand safari and surf !!!

Thank you Sakhile

Super chilled day with Ian from Safari and Surf team. Spend the day first snorkeling 🤿 Cape Vidal is beautiful. Good for beginners as well. Lots to see below water. Great guidance and support. And a coffee afterwards. Off to a great start.
In the afternoon we went on a walking safari. Next to the sightings (Buffalo, Zebra, Turtle, a Scorpion, tons of birds and insects) it was cool to get some facts and figures about the environment, nature and history of the park and the life it contains. Again, super friendly, relaxed vibe throughout the whole day.

We visited Kosi Bay December 2020 and went snorkeling on two occasions at Kosi Bay mouth. We were fortunate to see stone fish, moray eels, manta rays and many other fish species. The turtle tour was a wonderful and unique experience. We would definitely recommend Rick and Elise from Safari and Surf and would like to thank them for their knowledge, patience, kindness and their willingness to go the extra mile. Tembe Elephant Park is also a must. Truly an unforgettable experience.
