Good wall and chapel but long gravel road drive to the area and gardens are not so green and flowery, lack of greenery. Situated up in the mountain. Dont like walking on a dusty road to the reception venue if u got married at the chapel.

We celebrated a birthday at the venue - a beautiful view and peaceful environment comes standard.

You travel on a dirt/cemented road to the venue, a fair road that does make access easy.

The venue offers accommodation, a cash bar and a couple of different venues, based on the size of the celebration.

Our tables were on the veranda and it ended in a spectacular sunset as evening drew near. The meal was a spitbraai - a tasty meal with salads and more

Take cash with you to spend at the cash bar if you're looking for something to drink

Beautiful newly build rooms at Umbali Wedding Venue just 4km outside Nelspruit. Bushveld feel. Ideal for group bookings.

Amazing wedding venue. 5 star service. The decor and ambiance for our friends wedding was some of the best we have ever experienced.

My son's wedding celebration was held at Umbali.
The wedding ceremony itself was held in a lovely newish good-sized, stonebuilt chapel. Inside lighting was excellent and must surely have had some intense attention from either, architect, builder or owners, as it veiled the interior in a soft light enhancing the whole. (Incidently, my new daughter in law was truly one of the most lovely brides I've ever seen. Totally natural, but filled with an ethereal beauty from within, which could only be named Love ...)

The venue where we came together for the festvivities was a short distance removed from the chapel ~ just a short walk away, enabling guests to enjoy the views and future surroundings which already showed what a prize-winning venue for any kind of celebration Umbali was going to be, once everything would be in place.

The Wedding Meal:
Now this was what I would call Trou Kos (wedding food) Exceptionally delicious food attractively presented ~ all of it, but I have to mention the most wonderful pumpkin fritters I ever had in my life ~ and so said all of us. The meats were succulent, the veggies were cooked just right, with still a bite to them.

Although the non-traditional wedding cake and some cupcakes ~ both gifted to the couple ~ were extremely attractive and tasty, my own yearning moves in the direction of an old-fashioned obscenity, thick with a lemon, honey and butter sauce with cream and/or ice cream on the side, I decided to save this for my very own 50th wedding anniversary to be held at Umbali ~ there will be some Karoo lamb and naturally a lot of pumpkin fritters. I also hope to talk the management into my dream desert with my own homemade ice cream to boot, hiehie

Of course any crowd can and will become boisterous after some imbibing of enough of everyone's own taste of beverage, and this can sometimes spoil some guest's experience, mainly the elderly ;~) she says softly. This however doesn't really happen at Umbali. There are separate seating which guests can use according to their own wishes. The dance floor is big enough to contain a good crowd ~ there were ± 120 people at this wedding, and it didn't seem crowded at all. The venue also supply various smaller nooks an crannies for setting up equipment and having a photoshoot with guests for the making of a memory book to later on remind the couple of all they didn't notice while seriously getting married themselves.

It was a night to remember for most of us, such as can only happen when the people in charge are really taking responsibility for everything happening and we were all filled with joy that the wedding couple's feet were in a matter of speaking lead to Umbali after very bad experiences with two other so-called wedding venues.

My personal thanks and congratulations as mother of the groom goes to Theresa who managed this lovely wedding celebration at Umbali with such charm and savoire faire, never leaving things to just happen, but always moving through the rooms ~ eyes dancing over tables, floors, waitron's handlings, guests requests, and in general being a fine and reassuring presence at the back of all proceedings.

I can recommend Umbali under Theresa's management for every kind of celebration a couple or a group would like to have; any workshop, prize giving event, any company festivity, any gathering where people would depend on being in the hands of someone absolutely professional and totally capable for steering their event faultlessly to completion.
