The access to the Malellane Gate was 3km away from where we stayed. The service was excellent, we arrived at the Gate around 05:00 and our passes were ready within 5 minutes.
The drive and experience worth all the time spent in the Kruger National Park.
we loved every moment and will definitely come back because the experience feels new every time one is there.

Perfect to stay before or after visiting the National Park - Malalane Gate.
There are not much choices of restaurants in Malalane. Their steaks are very good. Otherwise, have a romantic dinner at Hamilton, not far from Malalane gate. SUPERB.

This Gate is preceded by a high bridge over the Crocodile River. Having seen some cars stopped on the bridge we also stopped and we could see hippos and Nile crocodiles in the water while on the banks of the river there were many impalas and baboons. At the gate we found little traffic so we quickly registered (you have to feel a form with passport data for foreigners) and paid for the entrance. We were told that we could not pay an entrance ticket for more than one day and that this procedure had to be done at each entrance. Anyway everything was easy and simple including the check of the car which is done to all vehicles entering and leaving this park.

Staff at this gate is efficient and friendly, unlike Numbi gate. Vehicles were searched by security at entrance and exit, which is important in light of the poaching of rhino's.

The gate is well located as it is very close to the N4. Game viewing in the southern section of the park was very good with excellent birding.

Service at the gate was great and made our entry into the park super easy and fast. Parking has been upgrade so you do not need to walk far to the office's to have all you paperwork processed

Sept 2021 • Family
Family break away , our group of 8 stayed at the Rhino House…. We were so lucky to have had the most amazing sightings … also a pack of Hyena and wild dogs in addition to the big 5, super special. Did a self drove as well as the sunset and sunrise guided drive.
The house itself can do with better overall maintenance , beautiful house but requires some consistent TLC.
I wish mask wearing was enforced on the drives considering they were filling to capacity and not adhering to distancing protocols. We did have a run I’m with reception bookings manager and had to forego one drive and insisted on a 10 seater for our group. It was escalated to Johan who was gracious and understanding and got us a guide last minute.
Overall quiet a special experience for us all. In the spirit of the supporting the SA economy at this time … money well spent.

Would suggest during busy times to pre book for the park. They have a day visitors quota. Our 1st day we had no problems, second day park was full. The park is very lush full of water and the animals are in peak condition

Long queues in the heat, you MUST book in advance as due to COVID there are daily quotas and only a limited number of cars may enter.
