We were not golfing and were still able to enjoy this attraction. The helicopter took us to the tee and we enjoyed a picnic lunch on top of the mountain. It was just our small group of five and it was one of the most breathe taking locations we have ever had lunch!

The picnic was arranged by our lodging and the beautiful lunch came with china plates and cloth napkins. I just wish we had brought golf balls just to give it a try!

Our heli ride was just to the top for the picnic. I wish we had requested the scenic ride (12 minutes or so) to enjoy the area from the air.

This was not something I had planned to do. We were with a group from a game lodge and heard about this excursion. The helpcopter ride was fabulous. The pilot was great and made the flight fun. It felt at times like you were on a rollacoster.
We were accompanied by a golf-pro. We were given 6 balls. We have 5 chance to tee off from the top of the mountain. The 6th ball was saved for you to use on the tee if you did not get one of the first 5 balls in bounds.
The view was amazing from atop the 19th hole. We all received certificates and a small gift to remind us of this amazing experience. This was a great experience. A must do even if you are not a golfer.

It was a group of us experience this fantastic trip!

Helicopter picked us up, feeling special already! only one club was needed-depends how good you are, your choice, golf balls provided by them.

It's breathtaking views on the top, then you will discover a South African shape green not too far from you-400m, that's the green, take a deep breath, it's a Par 3, vertical height is 430m, so nearly 30 seconds of ball's hang time, don't worry, everyone has 6 chances.

Then get ready for the green, helicopter will take you there, what a ride! absolutely enjoyed it although I didn't share the same feeling when I was on my way DOWN, we still talk about this ride, absolutely amazing.

Each person's golf ball was marked, so I was trying very hard to search and pray to find mine, one at least, many balls were found but none of them were mine, so it's a must come back and try again sign, i take it.

It's highly recommended.

one suggestion - water is much appreciated if it's for a group.

We booked the Extreme 19th about 2 months in advance of our stay in South Africa. It was the very last activity we were going to do on our vacation, and we were so excited. We stayed at the Protea Ranch Hotel, which was about an hour or so away. Imagine our surprise after we drove there to learn that the helicopter was out of service, so the activity was cancelled. Unfortunately, I had emailed the Extreme 19th from work, and they replied to that email address saying the activity was cancelled, so I never saw it. I would suggest always calling first before you drive out there, because like other reviewers stated, there were problems and we were cancelled on.

I can not fault their communication since they emailed the only contact information they had. What I can fault is the rude woman who worked in the pro shop. When we arrived and told her we were there for the Extreme 19th, she just looked at us and said, "no you aren't... that's been cancelled. I don't know why the manager didn't call you, but you can't do that today." No apology, no trying to reschedule with us/offer an alternative... just rudeness. We drove back to reception and were able to find out that the helicopter was down for an indefinite period of time (we were trying to ask if we waited for a little while if the helicopter would be up and running again so we could still play). The man at the front at least seemed like he cared and did apologize. The woman at the pro shop made the experience awful. What a way to end a trip :-(

The main course is in horrible shape with damage from warthogs and drought. Amenities were fair at best.

The 19th hole (longest par three in the world - which is not included in green fees) was fun and a memory that I will not likely forget.

I paid $190 to play one hole of golf, scored a 12 and never enjoyed golf more. The helicopter ride was really fun, standing on the tee 5 feet from a 1,200 foot cliff was scary, and hitting five tee shots over the cliff into oblivion was thrilling. If you don't hit the green in five tries, the sixth shot is saved for the drop area after you helicopter back down. Our group of 7 hit 35 shots without having one hit the green. The sixth shot is dropped down below, lying 10. I managed to finish with a chip and a putt for a 12. The average score is 15. If you get the chance to play the Extreme 19th Hole, don't pass it up.

If you love Golf, and love a laugh with your mates, then do the Extreme 19th Golf hole. The Helicopter ride, the views, the fun of attempting it, the banter, the everything! They have it pitched just right, with great organisation. A one to tick off the Bucket List!

visited this site - it was beautiful even with the cloudy weather.
We were not there to play the extreme 19th but it whetted the appetite - who knows one day?

Fantastic thing to do, not just if you're a golfer, it was exhilarating to be up there hitting golf balls over the side of a mountain, I have no idea where mine ended but it didn't matter it was an amazing experience. Our golf pro was so helpful and there was no pressure, he made it quite clear that we were just to enjoy ourselves and that we did.

I booked my husband and three friends to play the 19th hole in November. Not only were they not taken up to play due to weather (which is understandable) and then general laziness once the weather cleared up, this was over a month ago and Legends has yet to refund us over $700!!! All of my emails and calls have gone unanswered, so I've resorted to posting this review.
