About The Other Animals Safaris
Guided Tours through the "Kruger National Park", with world famous guide from the Battle at Kruger, Frank Watts. As a safari company, we focus on sharing our wildlife heritage with our guests – be it on a single game drive into the Kruger National Park or spending multiple days and nights on safari. Based in Hoedspruit we also offer shorter morning and afternoon game drives into the nearby private reserves, which are part of the Greater Kruger and home to the Big5. Enjoy coffee while watching the sun rise or sip a G&T as the sun sets. Our love for conservation, wildlife and nature is only surpassed by our love of sharing in the experiences of “The Other Animals of the Kruger National Park” – our guests!

Frank is great guide: knowledgeable, kind, interesting, and engaging. We did an afternoon/evening drive with him on the Pridelands Reserve and he went above and beyond to accommodate our requests and answer our questions. His partner Diane was fantastic to work with as we booked our time with him.

It was a really nice full day private safari in the Kruger NP. Pick-up was punctual at 5 am which allowed us to arrive at gate opening and having a huge lot of time in the park (until gate closed again at 5.30 pm). Guide Frank was a very friendly and knowleadgable guide with a looong guiding experience. We took a lot of the much nicer side roads and he stopped at the right places for the right time (no rushing) so that I could enjoy plenty of photo oportunities. We saw a big lion family, zebras, ellies, girafes (all with babies and youngsters), buffalos, hippos, antelopes etc. They also do morning/afternoon safaris in the much closer Pridelands Reserve (part of Greater Kruger) what I will do maybe next time. Thanks for this amazing day.

We had a wonderful safari with Frank in a private concession 5 minutes from Hoedspruit! Frank is genuinely so passionate about nature. One of the best guides we have ever had. Highly recommend using this company - the organization was effortless and the price was the best we could find!

Frank Watts is a magical land mermaid that will take an already amazing experience to new levels with his quick wit, infectious passion, and infinite wisdom. We spent 5 idyllic days in the remarkable kingdom of Kruger. We saw the most amazing things from elephants that were so close that I could hear their ears fanning themselves to an actual lion hunt that ended in a kudu escaping with it's life. We drove through mass open Savannas and breathed in the freshest air that fully cleaned my soul and reset my overstressed spirit. However, the memory I hold the dearest is the one of our guide. Frank made every moment special, he turned me into a morning person, and showed me what it looks like to truly love your job. Book this safari, book a trip with Frank, give yourself that once in a lifetime adventure that you have been craving.

We did the morning safari and it was well worth it! Sam was an amazing guide. We saw 4 of the big 5 by 9 am. We had 2 separate lion sightings largely due to Sam’s ability to analyze droppings and tracks in the road and his vast network. We were always one of the first three cars at the sightings and had a good 3-5 minutes before tons of other Safari trucks arrived. Sam has an eagle eye, which is a great quality to have in a guide! He would also help self-drivers out when they asked, which is an extremely kind thing to do. When we self drove the next day, no safari trucks helped us out (Echo Africa was especially unfriendly). Sam isn’t the most talkative person but if you want to make sure you see as many animals as possible, then book him. We did another tour with a different company but this was definitely the best. We also really preferred this truck to others we were in because the front is closed (but can be opened) and the driver’s cabin is higher, which cuts down a lot on the wind. We would 100% book with Sam again!
