Excellent experience seeing ALL the animals. Simon went above and beyond creating a fun and informative safari showing the years of experience that he has in the park and with the animals. Great dinners too. Highly recommended company.

Yet again, Wild Wings Safaris excelled.
We originally booked a safari at the start of lockdown, little knowing the impact that the global pandemic would have on international travel for the following two years. However, from the very outset, Wild Wings were amazing, helpful, understanding and did everything they could to handle all of our travel worries. Despite unforeseen staffing changes, the company left us in no doubt that all of the changes, rearrangements, postponements etc could be accommodated with nothing for us to worry about. Whether it was Madi or Michael, Simon or Onne, they each went out of their way to reassure, to advise, to provide information and to help us make our dreams a reality, all against the backdrop of a lockdown that had seen their industry brought to its knees. A truly amazing company and real team.
We opted for a few days self-drive, followed by a private 5-day best-of-kruger safari with the inimitable Simon as our guide. Some of our party had been before, but for some, this was their first time in the Kruger. The Kruger National Park and Wild Wings Safaris in particular, did not let us down. Simon's knowledge and experience of the Park gave us some amazing sightings - a crash of 7 rhino, multiple lions, leopards and cheetah as well as superb bird sightings, insects, reptiles, spiders and of course Simon's unparalleled cooking. We really were spolied. And then of course there's the man himself - he's far more than just a guide... he's an amazing chef, he is always ready to listen and help, his good humour and conversation is always worth engaging with and as for his riddles... not for the faint-hearted.
I would thoroughly recommend this safari company to anyone wanting to visit the Kruger National Park. The only downside for us is that we probably won't be able to return anything like as soon as we would wish to.

I cannot recommend Wild Wings enough. We had such a wonderful time. During the booking process, Ilaria was so amazingly helpful. Once we got there, our guide Nicky was just beyond our expectations. She was so knowledgeable and you could tell she had a real passion. We saw the big 5 and so much more. Wonderful meals, comfortable stay in Skukuza, and great company. An experience we’ll never forget.

Wild Wings provided great service from start to finish. Ilaria helped put together a great itinerary on super short notice (like a week) involving a safari inside kruger with their contracted guide Simon and then a couple days at a private reserve in Sabi Sands. Ilaria handled all the arrangements including booking me a flight from Joberg out to Kruger when there were no land transport available - at no extra charge. Simon was an awesome guide, super happy I was with him instead of self-driving. We def saw a lot more wildlife due to his knowledge, spotting skills and being in touch with the other guides. Stellar service all around from Wild Wings!

Wow! What an amazing experience!
Ilaria was incredibly responsive and helped us book a perfect 3 day tour.
We were fortunate enough to have Simon the Barefoot Guide on our excursion in the Kruger National Park. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the park and knew exactly when and where to look for wildlife.
After working for Marriott and Choice hotels as a VP of Development I recently retired and know great hospitality when I experience it. Hospitality is truly in Simon's blood! He was genuinely friendly, a gracious host and a really good cook.
Simon, Ilaria and Wild Wings provide the journey of a lifetime!

Michael at Wild Wings Safaris was extremely helpful in finding suitable accommodation for our family with 2 young children (6 and 14 yrs old). We had a fantastic experience at Mohlabetsi Safari Lodge and the kids throughly enjoyed it. The Safari Lodge that Michael found for us was perfect for our needs. He was very responsive when we explained what type of experience we were looking for, and was able to come back to us quickly with any additional information we needed.

From start to finish, the trip was insane, from the get go there were no issues arranging the perfect dates, the length of the stay or choices of accommodation. Ilaria and I spent far more than most would deem necessary emailing back and forth making sure absolutely everything was perfect. From the moment I landed in Kenya I was greeted at the airport by the team and from then on, totally hands off on my part, everything was thought through by them. Once we arrived into the Mara it just kept getting better. James my guide was one of the most knowledgeable and thorough guides I've met while being super chilled out and great fun to be around, to the point I can't think of anyone I'd want more for my next guide, he also had an interest in photography so we spent time between drives going over each others photos to see what we each managed to capture! He knew exactly the best spots to go and how to get there as well as the ideal times to leave the camps and hotels to make sure we'd be one of the first out there for sunrise and being the first out there to see the wildlife on the morning hunts. I genuinely cannot rate this trip highly enough and will be planning another visit as soon as I can.

Our experience with Wild Wings was nothing short of exceptional. Our booking agent Clare was very quick to return emails and answering our questions. She assisted us in moving our safari one year due to Covid and worked very hard to ensure we had a great experience. The lodge we chose, Kambaku River Sands exceeded our expectations in every way, and that is due to Clare and her assistance. I would not hesitate to utilize Wild Wings to book your dream safari!

Loved, loved, LOVED this trip. Wild Wings Safaris booked us an 18-day Southern Africa adventure that included a three-day Kruger Safari, private reserve safari, Victoria Falls, Chobe Botswana, Cape Town, Johannesburg, Outdshoorn, Kynsna, and Garden Route self-drive. Our Tour Advisor Michael took our request ("we want to see animals and Victoria Falls, here's our budget, and oh, one of our party has mobility issues") and designed the perfect trip of a lifetime. We had to postpone our original trip date due to COVID travel restrictions, and when we were ready to travel again, Michael rebooked everything exactly as we'd originally planned, no problem. He was gracious and accommodating of our many questions, and didn't even flinch at my naivete when it came to international travel. The trip was virtually flawless, and we felt we were in excellent hands.
Our Wild Wings Kruger Guide Nicky was amazing. We had a ton of sightings and got some amazing pictures. She even helped me with the settings on my new camera to be sure I could capture what I was seeing. Our full day really was a full day: Nicky picked us up right after the camp gates opened at 6:00, and we almost didn't make it back before the gates closed 12 hours later. In the middle, she cooked us a terrific meal in a public picnic spot with elephants chewing on trees right next to us!
I can't say enough about this company and its people. If you're looking for someone to handle all of the everythings that come with an international adventure, look no further. Highly recommended.

We went on a 4 day safari through wild wings and it was the experience of a lifetime. Nicky was our guide and was great-not only was she knowledgeable about the animals and Kruger in general but she clearly enjoyed the animals and was passionate about being a guide. We were able to see the the big five plus many more with great views. Breakfasts and dinners were delicious and very well thought out. Nicky was very consciousness of the pandemic and made everything feel very safe and comfortable. There were four of us who went in our group and this is a trip we will never forget.

Hi, we are planning to travel 8 (two teenagers) and get an safari, I want to learn how much will it cost for 3 or 5 days. thank you
wild-wings
George, South Africa2 091 contributions
Hi there, it's great to hear that you are planning a safari with your teenagers! At the moment (October 2019) our 3 day Kruger Park open vehicle safaris cost ZAR 8,900 per person (about $590 USD). This includes return road transfers from Johannesburg. The 5 day safari currently costs ZAR 14,200 (about $940 USD). Again this includes return road transfers from Johannesburg, as well as a guided bush walk and night drive.
The annual rates increase from SANParks is on 1 November, so these rates will go up after 1 November but we do offer an early bird discount if you book more than 4 months in advance.
What I would recommend is that you send an enquiry via our website so we can send you a free quote with no obligation to book. I can't give you the email or website details here, but you can easily find us on google.
We look forward to hearing from you!

Hello, are you able to provide halal food?
Thanks
wild-wings
George, South Africa2 091 contributions
We try to cater to all dietary requirements, which includes gluten free, vegan, vegetarian, Kosher and Halal, within certain limits. We offer what we call Halal friendly catering, which is not strict Halal or certified Halal, as we do not maintain a Halal kitchen or separate set of equipment. But we can purchase Halal food and will prepare food separately within the limits of what is possible and practical during a safari. Please discuss your dietary requirements with us before your trip, and we will let you know to what extent we can meet those requirements.

Hi! My family and I (2 adults/2 kids aged 13 and 10) will be in Hazyview next September. We'd like to do a Sunset Safari on September 20 and a full day Safari on September 21 or 22. Do you offer this kind of services? If so, could you please let me know what the costs would be? Thanks!
wild-wings
George, South Africa2 091 contributions
Hi Claudia, no we don't offer day drives into Kruger. It is much better to stay inside the Kruger Park and our safaris typically include your accommodation in Kruger, as well as all game drives. If you're staying outside the park in Hazyview, you would have to use one of the day tour operators that offer day safaris into Kruger. There are many of them, some better than others. The one I would recommend is The Other Animals Safaris.

hello, we are staying in hodspruit. we are interested in eary morning big 5 safari drive , do you provide pickup from our area?what is the price for a group tour? how many pepole in a group? what is the price for private tour?
wild-wings
George, South Africa2 091 contributions
Unfortunately we do not pick up from the Hoedspruit area for day trips, only for longer itineraries. We primarily sell safari packages and multi-day tours, not standalone morning game drives. We can arrange day trips into Kruger from the Hazyview area but in Hoedspruit you are better off contacting another local operator. Usually we do not recommend staying outside Kruger and going in for the day. It may be cheaper but it is not the same as staying inside Kruger. Day visitors can only start their game drive later and have to queue at the gate along with other self-drive tourists.

I will be Joburg on May 27 and leaving May 30th. My husband and I want to do a two day safari. What is the cost? And what does it include? What time can we get picked up from the airport?
Thanks.
wild-wings
George, South Africa2 091 contributions
Hi Marie, it will depend on what time you can depart on May 27 and what time you need to be back on May 30.
Our scheduled small group safaris depart from Johannesburg airport or surrounding hotels at around 7 am on the first day, and return to Johannesburg by about 5 pm on the last day. Maximum group size of 9.
So if you have all day available on the 27th and 30th you can fit in a 3-night / 4-day Kruger Park safari. Else you can do a 2-night / 3-day safari.
A 3-day Kruger Park open vehicle safari costs ZAR 8900 pp sharing (about $635), and a 4-day safari costs ZAR 11800 pp sharing (about $845).
This includes return transfers from Johannesburg, accommodation inside the Kruger Park in standard en-suite bungalows, two meals per day (breakfast and dinner), entrance fees and daily conservation fees, and all game drives on an open safari vehicle with highly experienced English speaking guide.
If you arrive off an international flight it is better to arrive the day before, so you can rest a bit and be ready for an early pick up on the first day of the safari. If you’re catching an international flight on the last day, don’t book a flight that departs earlier than 9 pm.
I hope this helps. Availability is a key issue so my suggestion is that you look up our website and send an enquiry from there to find out availability and get a more detailed quote, with no obligation.

Boa tarde!
Qual é a programação que vocês recomendam fazer para quem vai pela primeira vez?
wild-wings
George, South Africa2 091 contributions
For a first time safari, I recommend spending at least 3 or 4 nights on safari in Kruger. The scheduled Kruger Park safaris starting in Johannesburg are perfect, with a small group of up to 9 people. The 4-night 5-day safari takes you to two different camps in Kruger, which is a great overall safari program. If budget allows, you can also spend 2 or 3 nights in Kruger, followed by 2 or 3 nights at one of the more expensive private safari lodges in the adjacent private reserves, which provides a slightly different safari experience.

Hi myself and a friend are staying in Capetown and want to do a safari on the weekend of the 12th Jan we only have 2 nights as back to work on the Monday, I have looked into the one near Capetown and it does not sound too good from the reviews.
Can you advise on Kruger and the cost to get us there. We do not need anything to posh to sleep in.
wild-wings
George, South Africa2 091 contributions
It can be done, but will depend on availability. You can either fly to Johannesburg and join a scheduled safari from there, or fly directly to Nelspruit, Skukuza or Hoedspruit from Cape Town, but these flights are quite expensive. Best is to send an enquiry via our website to check availability and get a quote.

We have a group of 8 traveling together in Sept. 2019. We will be in Johannesburg for 7 days. We would like to Tour Kruger Park. We only have 2 nights available to see the park. What would the average cost for travel to get us there and accommodations per person ?
wild-wings
George, South Africa2 091 contributions
Hi Sherri, great to hear you are planning a trip to the Kruger Park while you are in Johannesburg!
For a 2 night safari, including return transfers from Johannesburg, entrance fees and conservation fees, accommodation in standard bungalows with air-conditioning and small private bathroom, all game drives with expert guide in an open sided safari vehicle, and breakfast and dinner daily, the price for Sep 2019 should cost about ZAR 8900 per person which is about $645 USD at the current exchange rate.
Safaris that cost more than this usually have more upmarket accommodation, and safaris that cost less than this have more basic accommodation (for example tents with shared ablutions) or they don't include everything, such as transfers from Johannesburg.
September is popular so for a group of 8 it is advisable to book early to ensure availability.
Hope this helps, please do not hesitate to send us an email to get a more detailed quote!
Kind regards,
Onne from Wild Wings Safaris
Hi, is it possible to drive in the Safari with my own vehicle?
wild-wings
George, South Africa2 091 contributions
It is possible to visit the Kruger Park with your own vehicle. This is called a self-drive safari. The downside of a self-drive safari is that you have to drive yourself, in a closed vehicle, you won't have a knowledgeable guide with you, you won't have the benefit of an open safari vehicle, and you will have to cater for yourself.
