Relaxing boat cruise
Sep 2020 • Couples
The boat trip was relaxing and informative, with a great guide and captain. We enjoyed the amazing natural scenes, seeing baobabs and the Three Rondavels from a different point of view. This was a good trip to do and I would recommend it for other. The ablutions are a bit basic and the road was a bit rough to get there, however we managed in a sedan.

Wonderful boat rides, ablutions terrible
Sep 2019
Getting to the Blyde River dam is rather challenging along pothole roads and construction in the park. But let that not detract from the wonderful boat ride on the dam with hippos and crocodiles and numerous water birds, but the main attractions must be the gorilla cave and the 2nd highest limestone (tofu) waterfall in the world. Seeing the three rondavels view point from a different perspective is interesting. What however curtails the experience is the bad state of the ablution facilities at the pier.

Beautiful spot
Sep 2019 • Couples
Visited here recently as part of a day trip from our camp. Unfortunately on the day it was quite hot so the views on the way weren’t great. Once we got there it was clear around the canyon and lots of great photo opportunities. There were a lot of people around, but lots to see and the water was beautiful, apparently you can even drink it! Definitely somewhere I would recommend others visit.

Its amazing to spend time on the Blyde Canyon and see the Three Rondavels from the river side. Saw hippos and crocodiles and spend a lovely afternoon on the water. Definitely worth doing!

Stunning part of the world

We recently went on this cruise of the Blyde River Canyon. What you see on the cruise is truly breathtaking. The scenery is beautiful and it was great to take it all in from a completely different angle to being at God's Window or the Three Rondavels. Would recommend.

Good views. Bad service.

The overall tour was nice and scenic but one staff member accidentally withdrew the payment amount from my credit card twice. Normally this is not a big issue and they could just transfer the money back to me. It's been three weeks now and five emails but still no effort from their side in sending the money back.

A must visit if you are in Mpumalanga

Easy access, the entrance is only R30 and you get to be really close to the Rondavels. There's small stalls that sells local art and staff are helpful

Waste of Effort and Money
Dec 2018 • Family
Family of 4 - with 2 small girls, one aged 8 and one aged 11. 11 year old pays the full adult price of R220, which was clearly targeted at foreigners, however we only had SAFFAs on our boat.
Boat is old and basic, and tour is very disappointing - both in terms of what you see, and the quality of the guide who seems to spend most of the time laughing at his own jokes for an uncomfortably long time. Information provided was not overly informative.
I expected to see more of the canyon.
All of this is just about OK, however the price of the tickets are a joke. R750 for a family - you are far far better off just viewing from the top. I'd rate this the worst excursion of the many we did over the 10 days we were in Mpumulanga and Limpopo.
Saw a small group of hippos though, which was the only saving grace.

Blyde River Boat cruise
Nov 2018
The Cruise could be so great but a poor Guide really messed it up.
We have always viewed the 3 Rondavels and Blyde river canyon from the Blydepoort view points above. So we decided on the long trip to Swadini and try out the Boat Cruise.
This trip could be such a great experience. But a self important and ill prepared guide named BED...something....messed it all up. I know the history of the area very well ,I also know our animals extremely well and felt extremely sorry for the nonsense and total incorrect information this imbacile was feeding the overseas tourists..The boat trip is well worth it and many stories and facts could make this wonderful experience instead this moron bombarded the guests with non related issues about the highest water falls and largest water falls OF THE WORLD. pushing the guests through irrelevant questions on water falls of the world and he was very proud of his knowledge of such irrelevant info... Get rid of him and get a knowledgeable guide there and it will be great. In the meantime tourists ::::read up on the area and do the trip and don't listen to BED...something ...then you will enjoy...….
