The reptile center is a small complex with a lot of good looking reptiles, spiders, Crocs and other animals. The manager explained the reason for the small cages so that made is easier to look at. Ask him, then he will explain it with joy! I loved the Chameleons, although there were only a view. Within an hour we had seen it all but with a tour guide it should be longer. It is a nice place that deserves our attention, especially because its is there for a long time and hopefully it will stay there!!

Really not nice at all, the first thing we saw was a tourist climbing around in terrarium spray water with a hard stream right in the snakes head and eyes. Then she took the snake out just to take a picture with it. We was there for a couple of minutes before claimed our money back. Animal abuse.

We had a wonderful tour with a very informative guide. He explained to us everything about each and every animal. The place is home to many abandoned pets, it’s really nice to see these guys giving them the best possible life!

It is a very beautiful park. You learn a lot about snakes and reptiles and the people there are friendly. The shows they offer are great and very educational and the stuff has a good knowlegde of the animals

My husband and I celebrated his birthday a few days ago by booking a full day photo tour of this wonderful place! Our guide, Praise, was a wealth of knowledge and was very patient allowing us to take great photos. You can clearly see he’s passionate about his job. We started by learning about scorpios and tarantulas and then moved on towards lizards, chameleons and iguanas. Lastly, we ended up learning about mostly poisonous snakes. It’s great to see what this team of people do such as rescuing snakes from people’s houses and releasing them back to the wild! They’ve also taken in several former pets when their owners can no longer keep them. It was a lovely experience which I hope to visit soon again and wish them the best!

What an extraordinary experience to get up close to often misunderstood animals. The staff were knowledgeable and the opportunity to hold a snake and lizards was unforgettable. The animals look as if they are in good condition, which is always good to see.

How much is paid (ZAR) to visit this place?
Written 20 November 2022
Can't remember exactly how much I paid, it was around equivalent of £150. Expensive I know but this was for full day private photo and handling experience which could be shared if you had 3 others joining you. For me ,it was worth every penny!! I think the "ordinary " price for non specialised photo tour is around £40 per person.
