Absolutely worth a visit. Vultures, eagles, lions, leopards, cheetahs, wild dogs, hyaenas - all saved from accidents. Great guides, learned a lot and had fun.

It was a very educational experience for my whole family!
Although it is never nice to see animals is cages one is reminded that this facility is there to help the animals in need.
It is rewarding to hear the stories of how many animals they managed to rehabilitate and release again.
Well done Team!

We did a mid-day private tour with Jason (the timing on our end didn’t line up with the standard group tour times they have in the morning and afternoon). This was honestly one of the best wildlife tours we did in our entire two weeks in South Africa. Jason was the most knowledgeable guide on our entire trip and just the way he interacted with the animals and comfort level he had with them was nothing short of spectacular. You would be doing yourself a disservice if you didn’t come here to experience the wildlife yourself - and ask for Jason specifically!

Our guide Moses gave us a wonderful tour of this Rehabilitation centre. It is of course sad to see so many animals in a caged environment that due to injuries and circumstances, can not be returned to the wild, especially the birds. However, wonderful work done by the staffing team!

This is a great stop for all travelers either before or after safari in Kruger National Park. The staff at Moholoholo is doing a phenomenal job of keeping some of South Africa's most precious animals safe and helping others to rejoin their wild brothers and sisters.
Our guide through the tour, Oscar, was knowledgeable and very engaging the whole time. Having seen some of these same animals on safari, we learned so much more about their behavior, habitat, and dangers presented by even well-meaning human intervention.
During the tour you will get to step into the same cage as raptors and vultures and will get to be very up close to white lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dog, honey badger, and even a very awesome and very rare black leopard. Oscar interacted with all of these animals and we were able to observe both their natural and their learned behaviors from human interaction.
This was a very worthwhile tour. It's good for all ages. Highly recommend!

We toured the rehabilitation center while in the area. Our guide was great and informative of each of the species we were shown. The information provided on each of the animals was excellent and his sense of humor made for a great tour. If you fortunate enough to be able to go here, you will not be disappointed.

We loved it. Oscar the guide was awesome and we enjoyed him. The centre is clean and neat and each animal has a rescue story.

We did the 15:00 tour with Oscar as our guide and wow what a guy! He is so passionate about what they do and about his job. The information was clear and abundant. The facility is well taken care of and the animals are well looked after. This is a MUST visit when in the area. Worth every penny.

Business
We had a most informative and entertaining tour of the rehab centre. The guide Theo was excellent and gave a lot of interesting stories and information in a very humorous and entertaining way. He also had an impressive relationship with the animals.

Is the cheetah breeding that this centre does ethical?
I have read a couple of things suggesting that the cheetah can't be released into the wild because they need to be raised by a wild mother to know how to survive and that therefore they are being bred for purely commercial purposes but am hoping that isn't true!

Is it possible to visit between the tours? Or only if you participate in one of the tours? This is on our way from one place to another so neither 9:30 nor 15:00 will be possible for us

No, you need to join a tour. It is all arranged and it is a guided tour. You cannot visit on your own.
Sad you cannot make it, may be next time.
Enjoy your holidays, we loved our too ! ❤️

I'm looking for a ranger course for our kids, 8&9 years old. It's a half day course. I know it's somewhere around Moholoholo. Anybody any ideas?

Groetjes, Monique

Would any one recommend Moholoholo as a place to take photos or are most of the animals in enclosed gates?

You can get some good shots, however, the enclosures do detract and animals don't pose where you want them. the vulture enclosure was a treat.

I think you would have to contact various Rescue/animal Orphanage Centres direct to see if this would be allowed! South Africa is an amazing place, mlots of Reserves etc around Hoedspruit. Enjoy!

Desidero esprimermi in merito..
LUCA
