We travelled, a couple in our early 30's from Ireland to South Africa in July 2022. I booked a 4 Day trip with Wild Planet Safari which included 3 nights in Kruger and 1 night at Blyde Canyon. Thale in the office looked after every aspect of the trip from suggesting itineraries, moving the accommodation to suit our wishes, transfer times, sending packing lists and so on. Nothing was too much hassle and everything was sorted via email without difficulty. From an admin point of view my experience was faultless. When arriving in Kruger we met our guide Chris who we will always remember for honestly giving us the trip of a lifetime. He was such a friendly, kind and helpful man who felt like an old friend after just a few hours. The game drives were exceptional and Chris really tried his best to show us everything Kruger had to offer. He was a wealth of knowledge on the trees, bushes, birds and of course the animals. Despite never being guaranteed to see the Big 5, it was clear that Chris really wanted us to see as many of the 5 as possible. Luckily we spotted 4/5 on Day one, but spent day two and day three without a glimpse of Rhino. Chris changed our day three itinerary to add more driving time in a final attempt to see a Rhino, and he was relieved when we found not 1 but 5. Each night was spent having a Braii at our camp, cooked by Chris (who should he loose his passion for tour guiding, most certainly has a cheffing career ahead). There really are no words to sum up our Kruger experience, but the memories will stay with us forever and we will be eternally grateful to Wild Planet Safari for making it so special. For our final day we ventured through the breathtaking Panorama Route towards Blyde Canyon and spent the night there after some spectacular sight seeing. In hindsight, we probably would have preferred the extra day and night in Kruger - but that was my choice! I cannot recommend WPS enough, every aspect from booking to being dropped back to the airport was exceptional, friendly, and easy! I would love to say I will do it again, who knows!

Don’t delay booking your trip to the Kruger National Park with Wild Planet Safari! We had to because of the pandemic, but now that travel is more straightforward (from the UK), we wanted to celebrate our fourth wedding anniversary with an adventure in the Kruger. Our Wild Planet Safari guide, Chris, made sure our visit was unforgettable. His expert knowledge of the areas we visited and his healthy and delicious cooking kept our minds and stomachs nourished throughout our trip. If it had not been for Chris, we would have missed some of the Big Five – we were lucky enough to see them all. For example, he spotted a rhino and its baby in the distance for us, and he drove us towards the call of a male lion to get close in our open safari vehicle. Chris was a very experienced guide and knew all about the animals, birds, trees, and landscapes. Often, we find it hard to eat healthily on holiday, but Chris cooked balanced meals with generous helpings of fruit, vegetables, and salad. On the night of our anniversary, we had a sundowner of Marula Cream Liqueur looking out over the park. Then, Chris cooked an awesome Brai served with a delicious wine. We felt safe throughout our trip because Chris or one or more of the Kruger National Park rangers always accompanied us. We could not recommend Wild Planet Safari more highly to our friends and family. Right from first contact, Thale expertly helped us plan our trip: our first night was at the Letaba rest camp, then we went to Satara for one night, Skukuza for two nights, Berg en Dal for two nights, and then the Blyde Canyon Forever Resort, outside of the Kruger for our final night. We experienced staying in a permanent safari tent, rondavels/bungalows, and camping. We found all the different kinds of accommodation comfortable and would recommend adding on the final day/night in Blyde Canyon to see some of South Africa’s most stunning landscapes! We want to extend our thanks to Wild Planet Safari and Chris specifically for helping us encounter some of the most beautiful animals and landscapes we’ve ever seen. Chris worked tirelessly to ensure we were always fed, comfortable and getting the absolute best from our experience.

We did an 8N/9D safari in June. The original plan was to go in 2021 but because of Covid everything was postponed. Thale was very understanding and was happy to accommodate us this year instead. She also made us a custom made trip where we skipped the beach but did only safari parks: We stayed 1 night in Blyde Canyon, 5 in Kruger and 2 in Hluhluwe. We had two guides: Chris for Blyde and Kruger and Trompie for Hluhluwe. Two completely different people for the two different parts of our trip. Both were very knowledgeable and gave tons of information, making us feel like we could be safari guides ourselves by the end. They also provided us with great meals. I loved the braai, the braaibroodje and the Durban Curry. Chris even surprised us with a typical African dish called Pap in South Africa or Sadza in Zimbabwe, when we told we wanted to eat as African as possible. I knew I was going to love South(ern) Africa but I fell head over heals. Wild Planet was fantastic in helping out reaching this feeling. I wish I could go back tomorrow! Thank you very much for making this all possible

We thoroughly enjoyed this adventure with Wild Planet. Ryan has the most amazing knowledge of animals and plants. We learnt so much from him. Lunga, Ryan's assistant was also excellent, so enjoyed his laughs. Down side, the Parks Management need to do maintenance to the accommodation.

Our ranger Ryan was amazing. Very knowledgeable and shared very interesting commentary about the animals. His route through the Kruger crossed different kinds of landscape that allowed us to see many animals and kept the trip interesting. We will definitely recommend Wild Planet Safari to anyone busting the Kruger.
