Great, safe, fun and amazing experience for the entire family. If you can...

Great, safe, fun and amazing experience for the entire family. If you can swim, we can teach you to snorkel. Hundreds of fish, corals and if you're lucky Octopus, Nudibranchs and amazing ocean life.

We have been amazed at this wilderness that is right on our doorstep. We have found tidal pools filled with corals and unusual creatures, watched dolphins surfing the back line, been awed by whales breaching offshore and been very chuffed with ourselves for finding secret coves and bays where you're unlikely to see a single soul....And all this in the bustling holiday capital of South Africa! We were surprised and sure you will be too.

If you're a visitor to the North Coast and wondering what to do / looking for things to do in Ballito or Salt Rock, then you should consider joining us on one of our Snorkeling Safaris - If you can swim, we can teach you to Snorkel. It's simple, safe and loads of fun for the whole family. Not to be missed.

We had a great time with our first time to snorkel. The visibility was great and as an inlander (or vaalie) we were very impressed with all the life going on under the water! The service was great and our guide was very good. The social aspect of drinking a beer afterword with the guide, was almost just as great... More

At first it seems like just a small pond. But after the very interesting introduction you go under water and are overwhelmed with what you see. Especially because you don't expect to find such a big variety of life in this tiny place. For my girlfriend it was the first time ever to snorkel - she enjoyed it very much.... More

We booked a snorkel with Tidal Tao Snorkelling Safaris and were absolutely delighted with the service we received. Our guides were friendly and helpful and we were especially impressed with our guide who rescheduled our dive to the next day because the visibility was not up to standard on the first day. We were treated to hot chocolate at the... More

I was blown away by what I thought would be a simple snorkeling event in Ballito. We were taken to Chaka's Rock tidal pool and were amazed at the variety of sea life available for us to see. The guide was highly knowledgeable and very keen to pass on her love for environment sustainability. I would highly recommend Tidal Tao... More

I'm so glad we decided to do the snorkeling which I found on things to do in Ballito in trip adviser. It was an eye opener to my family and I who have been coming to the Natal oceans for years. In this wonderful tidal pool lies a special world waiting to be seen. Coral of all colors. Fish of... More

This is a must do in Ballito. Mitchey who dose the snorkelling tour is very passionate about the fish and the ocean. She is very clued up on all the fish. The night and day snorkel was done by us and both were awesome. She is very good with children and has a way of making you very comfortable. The... More

We had a snorkel in one of the tidal pools, we were surprised at the biodiversity in it. The visibility was terrible on the day, but it was less of an issue as most of the fauna & flora weren't very deep. We had a great time.
