We booked a canyoning tour with Fearless Adventures. It was just the two of us and our guide Branden, which was amazing. He was a very relaxed and experienced guide with loads of knowledge about the area and forestry. It was raining slightly, so the path to the gorge and the rocks were quite slippery. Still, Branden guided us through it with ease. The views are amazing and you really feel like you see a part of the country that only few people get to see. We definitely recommend this experience!

Unbelievable time with Branden in the caynon. He was so knowledgeable and the activity is just brilliant fun. The name of the company is very apt because you must overcome fear to make it down safely. Definitely a trip not to be missed for anyone with a sense of adventure or adrenaline junkies. Reasonable rate too. It is quite easy to find also, just off the N2. He meets you in the car park in Wilderness and you follow him through the mountains to another location where you get changed. Decent walk then down to the valley floor through bushes and shrubs. Wetsuits and a helmet are also provided and a dry bag for your phone. To top it off we went for food in a fabulous restaurant called Pomodoro and a coffee in the Green Shed,a perky little gem in the town. The beach is just around the corner to bring you right back after the high. Overall a top notch activity.

I've been twice now on an activity with Fearless adventures and both times have been amazing. First time was with Roche climbing and second time with Branden canyoning. You can tell how well they know the area and it really feels like they show you some stunning parts of Wilderness you wouldn't otherwise see. They adapt the activities to your skill level so you're always comfortable while also pushing yourself if you want. Im sure we'll book with them again when back in the garden route.

Let me start by saying that we didn’t get the chance to actually go on any trips offered by this company, so I can’t give a review of that part of the service.
My only experience is based on booking online and my subsequent experience of their customer service, which was majorly disappointing and to be honest, pretty nasty.
On 12th September, I booked and paid around €90 for my husband and I to go on an abseiling trip the following day. After making payment, I assumed I would get a Booking Confirmation email with instructions, but this did not arrive. So I emailed the company asking for guidance. I got a response from Roche advising that they were fully booked on the date we booked for and couldn’t facilitate the booking. He offered to transfer the booking to another date or provide a refund. I asked for a refund. (We were only staying in Wilderness for a couple of nights and so, couldn’t book for another date).
We returned home to Ireland about 10 days later and I realised we hadn’t been refunded and requested an update. A chain of emails went back and forth between Roche and I from the end of September to the beginning of November.
Roche told me it was ‘quite difficult’ to refund internationally but nevertheless asked for my bank details, which I provided, so I assumed he was going to send the refund via bank transfer.
A month passed before I requested an update, as there was no sign of the refund.
Roche then advised that he couldn’t refund internationally unless it was through PayPal or Paysafe (seems to be a South African version of PayPal). I have since sent 2 separate requests through PayPal for a refund and have not received a response to either despite being assured by Roche that he would process it in early November upon his return to the office.
I don’t like airing complaints via TripAdvisor reviews but in this instance, I feel other potential customers should be made aware of my experience.
When I told Roche that I felt I had been scammed, he accused me of being small-minded, of not understanding how things work internationally and told me he is happy they didn’t take us on a trip. He also threatened legal action if I left a negative review on TripAdvisor.
I have emails from Roche to back up everything I have stated in my review and I won’t be insulted or intimidated into not leaving honest feedback.
If a company cannot give the customer what they paid for, I would imagine that it is standard practice for that the customer be refunded.
We had such a fabulous time in South Africa, enjoyed great trips, fantastic accommodation and meals. It’s unfortunate that this experience was the one black mark on an otherwise great holiday.

This person, which I never met, thankfully, tried to blackmail me in trying to get her money back, by telling me she was going to leave a bad review if we didn't immediately pay her full amount back, when she got back to Ireland. This is her sad action, and she doesn't realise that she is costing my employees to go home to their families without money to buy food for their families. This is the direct result in cancellation because of her review to now show that she has followed through with her blackmail. The same employees that have worked so hard in getting a 5star rating to date, to better their income and secure more work. I sincerely hope that the adventure seeker will look past this sad review and see it for what it is. A sad person who tries to force her will and actions on people, without having the patience to go through due prosess to get her refund. Fearless Adventures director Roche Schoeman

I still can‘t believe that whe had such a breathtaking canyoning adventure today!

Whe called Fearless Adventure only a couple of hours in front of our arrival in wilderness, asking for a trip on the same day - what we expected: Being squezed into a group wich is too big to experience an adventure or the nature...what we got: A private canyoning adventure with THE most experienced and nature dedicated Tour Guide we‘ve ever had! Roche took us on a visit into a world you can‘t even imagine!

The canyon he chose for us was just out of this world and with his knowledge about EVERY animal which whe saw, heard or imagined (Glad that we didn‘t meet with the Cape Leopard;) ) together with the adrinaline rushes whe had abseiling and jumping was just amazing!

Thanks Roche for that once in a lifetime experience! (And for saving a puffotter‘s life!

All the best,

Freya and Lars

We booked a canyoning tour for a group of 4 after it has been recommended to us multiple times and it was definitely the right decission. The canyon and the nature surounding it is absolutly breathtaking, as well was the canyoning itself. The group was small, just the 4 of us. Roche is a very experienced and professional Guide and also a super fun guy, wich addet alot to an authentic and more personal experience. Thanks alot to Roche and his team, we highly recommend booking with Fearless Adventures.l

I booked a canyoning trip for me and my girlfriend with Fearless Adventures. She was pretty nervous about it beforehand, but ended up loving it! Branden was a great laid-back guide that brought us safely down the gorge with interesting little facts about the local landscape and surrounds. Awesome few hours with amazing scenery down the gorge. Thanks Branden!

I was there to do abseiling and canyoning with another girl. So we were just two participants who took part in the adventure. We had an awesome time together. Roche, the guide, is very skilled and pays much attention to a atmosphere in which everyone feels comfortable, to the equipment, and the right use of it. Even tough I was a little bit scary about the height Roche helped me to reduce my tension by explaining everything in detail and just providing support without being in a rush. If you don't take part in any of his tours, then you must be an idiot! :-) I really appreciated his professionalism.

One of the coolest things me and my family have ever done. Roche was a great guide and everything felt so safe. Abseiling from 16 meters down a waterfall was unforgettable... I RECOMMEND THIS!
