This trip exemplifies adventure travel: off-road 4x4, bumpy, dusty, steep, potentially dangerous in bad weather but with spectacular views climbing up through the Drakensbergs, ending in some heart stopping switch back bends before the prize of reaching the top at nearly 3000m and 3 hours

Great hiking trip for outdoor enthusiasts. The 9km hike between the South African border post and the Sani Pass hotel offers a great day out, excellent views and a good workout. An ice cold Maluti beer awaits at the top at the Sani pass hotel.

Fantastic scenery and a spectacular climb up the steep and rough mountain pass, Three hours outside Durban the climb takes about two more hours to reach to highest pub in Africa for a welcome drink at the Sani Mountain Lodge.

A reasonable 4/4 journey, some spectacular scenery and a fun drive. It was a good experience to revisit, stop along the way and explore, remember the passport, border crossing quick and easy, worthwhile

Transport is by 4WD up a REALLY rough track. In the best seats you will be thrown everywhere but I do NOT recommend sitting in the backseat as you have no legroom so have to sit sideways, so endure such an uncomfortable ride it's almost...More

I have been up Sani a few years back and the drive between border posts was not that bad. I drove up again in September 2018 and it took long. The road to the border post is getting ready to be tarred. It is very...More

I'm not sure but I don't see why not. You can go up on bicycle and on bike so why not quads? I think you'll be able to

Sorry for the slow reply. I think you will. All you need is reasonable ground clearance and 4x4 traction. You will be fine.
