We spent over 3 weeks with Greg touring South Africa from Cape Town, through the Garden route, and on to Durban, Umhlanga Rocks, and Swaziland. It was absolutely wonderful. He planned an extensive and very varied itinerary and made arrangements for all accommodations. He made it a point to plan for different kinds of accommodations and we loved them all. Greg is a "walking encyclopedia"; he knows so much about the South African history and culture. South Africa is such a diverse and beautiful country and he knows the best places and attractions to take his clients. From a large beautiful city like Cape Town to the wine lands and wonderful wine tasting, and of course game reserves where we could view the Big 5, there was never a moment that we felt unsafe with people or animals. Greg can plan a trip for any number of days and to meet whatever attractions his clients want to see. South Africa is very economical destrination, and Greg's prices are more than reasonable. We are planning a return trip in 2021, and we are counting the days already.

I was part of an MBA group that visited Durban in May 2018. We had the pleasure of having Greg as our tour guide during our stay in the port city. His local knowledge was only surpassed by his exquisite and compelling storytelling. Our travels included Umhlanga Rocks, Shakaland, Victoria Street Spice Market, Mahatma Gandhi's home, Inanda Seminary, and much more. Greg was always accommodating our travel needs while also making sure we saw and learned about all his home city has to offer. I would not be shocked if Greg was a retired politician as he seems to know almost everyone we came in contact with. Truly a one of a kind trip.

Ha ha! Politician.! They are not always my favourite mammals(Mr Mandela aside). There.... I've destroyed all future politician - induced touring. You were a wonderful, informed and challenging delegation. Please return. Warmest wishes from Mama Africa, G

I recently travelled to Durban for a conference and set aside one day to go on safari with my colleague. I did a lot of research before departing for South Africa and decided to go with Garsons Expeditions and I could not be happier. Greg Garson is an absolutely amazing tour guide and an absolute pleasure to deal with. From the moment I contacted Greg he was extremely attentive and helpful. He was able to work with me on my tight schedule and a cater a tour that best suited my colleagues and I's interests. Greg is extremely knowledgable and his tours are very reasonably priced. Our safari experience was by far the highlight of our trip and we can not thank Greg enough!

We are so glad we booked with Greg. This trip could not have been a better introduction to the continent and its rich history and diverse geology. We felt honored to be with Greg as we made stops both on on off the regular tourist trail. First stop was Cape Town including cape point, Robben Island and Table Mountain. From Cape Town to Port Elizabeth (don't miss Hermanus and Knysna). Then up to 'Durbs' for interior battlefields, mountains, Zulu culture and Lesotho via Sani Pass (a must do white knuckle day trip). Two days at the Oyster Box and a cocktail at Luigi's (Hello to all of our new freinds) then off to our bush safari adventures to end our two weeks. We could write a book. Awesome! Mix and match the day trips on Garsons' website into the vacation adventure of a lifetime. We will be back and with Greg for sure. Cheers! Patti and Joe USA

I did the most amazing trip with Greg Garson to the battlefields of the Anglo-zulu war. Greg did the whole trip in a day which was perfect for me and my father and was so knowledgeable. He catered the whole day to work around where we wanted to go and see and on the journey gave us the history of the pre battles etc.
The whole day started with door to door collection service, picnic breakfast, and lovely lunch. Greg also knew places not on the usual tourism track that he would stop and show us small British war Graves... See pictures below.

Greg went where other tour guides didn't take people so we had an amazing view of the site of isandlwana before we went to the site of the war graves, being Welsh the journey onto Rorkes drift was very special and the time there again very moving and magical. Again Greg's historical knowledge and his relationship with the staff made the whole experience even more special.

I cannot recommend this company highly enough..it was excellent value for money and a truly amazing day both me and my father will never forget.

During my stay in Durban...Greg took me on a tour through Inanda (Known as A tale of Two Cities). Tour was amazing, and includes a visit to Phezulu Safari Park (witnessed a zulu cultural dance, and went on tour through the crocodile and snake park), then travelled through the Valley of 1000 Hills. Went to Ohlange Institute, Inanda to witness where Nelson Mandela voted for the first time in 1994. Visited the house of Mahatma Gandhi, situated in the heart of KwaMashu, which he resided in for over 20 years. The tour ended with a tour through the City of Durban taking in the sights (Architecture - City Hall) and smells of Durban (Spices of Indian Culture).

Our small group did a one day Great Leaders tour in the Durban area with Greg. We were so pleased with it that we arranged a six day tour with him, to the game parks, the battlefields, the midlands and the Drakensberg Mountains. Loved it all! Greg is a font of interesting facts and stories, plus he can organize a delightful trip.

Many thanks for the review! It is truly appreciated and, I may add, to field-guide your lovely group of American and Canadian yachts people was a great privilege. Wishing all in the group, a wonderful 2018. Greg Garson

Greg took my 17 year old grandson and I on a 3 day safari to Hluhluwe and iMfolosi game parks. The drive there, the information he gave us, the game viewing, the accommodation, and in fact everything, was perfectly booked, organised and detailed by Greg. The game at Hluhluwe was abundant and the scenery was beautiful. Whilst watching a beetle on the side of the road, Greg told us exactly what a dung beetle and his wife do with the huge dung balls they make. They have now become one of my favourite wildlife characters! Val Emberton
