What an awsome experience to visit with the quite ocean it made it alot of fun to snorkel the rocky sides and swimming for the little. Walking on the island was also relaxing.

This was a beautful beach for locals and visitors NO there are no pelicans so not sure why it is called pelican island but it was a very nice clean place to take your family and have a wonderful day kit surfing where you could also take your dogs BUT the last time we took a drive it was again full of litter and glass bottles.

Absolutely gorgeous beach, although there was some litter around, which was a shame. Beautiful scenery but be careful on the access road, as there are some huge potholes.

Summer is upon us, the Pelican Island in Richards Bay is the best place to be, you can just chill in the sun or do some swimming if you like, you can walk about on the sea sand, for people who enjoy fishing, this is the best place to do fishing, picnic areas are available for those people who wish to do braai's. Such a wonderful place to be in summer.

Definitely NO PELICANS to be seen when I was there. Little in the way of facilities but an ordinary walk about place.

Nice to relax. Take walks on and just enjoy the area. beautiful area in richards bay. Bring food as halaal food not available

Quiet place to walk the dogs

My wife and I take our dogs to Pelican island at least twice a week. It is nice and quiet and you get the most beautiful sunsets.

the island is one of the best island I ever visited before, there are lot of friendly security officers and other people working at the beach who are always and willing to show us the views and the beach sites.
