We did a spider walk with Ryan and Jana whilst staying at Bushwillow. Ryan’s knowledge is second to none and made for a fascinating couple of hours. One highlight was discovering a cicada (I had heard but never seen!) that had just ‘hatched’ and was still drying its wings. Scorpions big and small, spiders with many ingenious methods of trapping, the walk was both educational and fun. I would thoroughly recommend you add one of these walks to your holiday.

Dear Rob and Rosanna, It feels like just the other day when we had this amazing walk with you, can't believe it's been 5 months! Time is flying! I missed placed my log in details so I am sorry that I am only responding now! Thank you so much for writing the review for us! We are actually in the process of relocating to the Northern Cape, Karoo maybe we will see you there one day? We are on social media if you would like to follow us! We hope you are both keeping well!

We did the spider walk with Ryan through the south african bush and were amazed by the diversity of the spiders we found and the knowledge Ryan has. You feel like an explorer in a new world. This walk is not about touching spiders and doing crazy stuff or getting close to them. It is educational and gives you a different perspective of looking and thinking about spiders. Ryan knows everything and spots spiders and scorpions in places you would not see them. The walk is really personal, it was only us (4 people) and Ryan. I would recommend this walk for everyone that is fascinated in the world of small african animals or spiders in general. Even though two of us have arachnophobia they did the walk and were really delighted. I wished there were more activities like this!

We did the spider walk with Ryan last night- it was so cool! We saw so many scorpions (!!!), and an incredible number of spider species. The trapdoor spiders were absolutely amazing! Ryan is so knowledgeable and obviously loves these creatures. We've done lots of the Big 5 stuff recently and this was such a refreshing change. Can't recommend enough.

Our family enjoyed a memorable morning walking tour with Ryan in the sand forest at False Bay park near Hluhluwe. Ryan took us on the Ingwe trail and was superb at pointing out fascinating trees, interesting insects and sought after birds. He was able to find "jumping beans" for our two small boys. Best of all he found a number of wanted birds for me, including Neergard's Sunbird. If we return to the area we will definitely look up Ryan again.

We had a lovely early morning walk in the sand forest near False Bay with Ryan. We learned so much abbout the trees, the flora, fauna, buterfiles and birds and even saw a leopard pug mark! We loved his focus on all the other aspects of South Africa's wildlife beyond just the Big 5. Can't wait to go back. Highly recommend Ryan!
