A little let down
Dec 2020
I had great memories from going as a kid and was eager to share it with my daughter.
Unfortunately most the interesting & historical buildings seem to be neglected and too many inconsequential sponsored buildings.
The trains, planes and boats were nice.
In fairness my 10 year old did enjoy it.

Clean and nice for kids
Mar 2021
Good to visit with kids. All the buildings etc. seemed to be well maintained. We did not have any security issues when parking outside, security was a big concern to us.

Don't go expecting to see all of Durban in miniature
Mar 2021
You get what you pay for - or rather what companies wishing to advertise their businesses are willing to pay for. As other reviewers have noted, admission is cheap. This is, in part, because the owners don't seem to be doing much upkeep but also because it appears that numerous businesses have paid to have miniatures of their businesses included, complete with branding. I had hoped that Mini Town would be a nice, quick, and fun way to get a quick overview of Durban's historical buildings and monuments. Some of them are there, to be fair. But many of the mini buildings are inconsequential, uninteresting buildings of local businesses. My eight-year old enjoyed watching the miniature trains that move around Mini Town and the mini boats that float about. It doesn't take long to walk through. Be sure to adjust your expectations before you go. The staff are friendly enough and they helpfully pointed out that there is a good place to rent bikes on the beach just below Mini Town (at the skate park) so all was not lost.

Small World
Jan 2020 • Friends
Mini Town was very small. As interesting as it was, you can only spend 30 minutes maximum because there isn’t that much to see. It captures Durban but not entirely. I’d advise you all to check it out at only R30 per person but it’s a bit underwhelming.

Mini Town disappointed
Nov 2019 • Family
We visited Mini-town as part of a small photographic group but we're all disappointed at the dated exhibition and lack of enthusiasm for new stuff. Poor enthusiasm from the staff but overpowered by a "Stalag" type monitor who at every wrong doing spoke loudly over the PA. Even the ice cream lady had to use a calculator to add R11.00+R12.00.

A Good Attempt At Making Small People Big
Sep 2019 • Family
This is a miniature town with a railway track, supermarkets, an airport, a harbour, distribution centre etc all miniaturised. Kids and adults pay a small fee to walk among the tiny buildings and feel like the giant in Lilliput! My little boys were thrilled to be there. Perhaps a little dated but still good for the kids.

Mini Town Giant Experience!!
Aug 2019
I had such an awesome time walking around as this "GIANT" as an adult I really was giddy with joy. The attention to detail was beautiful. Its a must take! for people with children there's a nice shop to get goodies and lots of fun to be had.

Sad little town
Aug 2019
Many years ago, as a kid, this was always a highlight for me. This year I went there for the first time in many years and it was sad to see that there have been no improvements to it, no extensions and maintenance has much to be desired. Not worth the visit anymore, unfortunately....

Good place for kids
Dec 2018 • Couples
Really cool to see most of Durban all in 1 place. Adorable. Great for kids -the novelty wears off after a while
