Durban was a bit of a diappointment overall on a onde day vist on a cruise, but the Ricksha Bus gives a good look around the city. They only have one working bus at the moment and it is in poorish condition. The sound stsyem did not work in half the seats, but the guide spoke up and was audible. Take water, a hat and sunscreen. It can get hot in the sun! The bus does not stop apart from a toilet break and a viewpoint, but you do get an overview of the city. The start and end point is on the beach and quite a distane from the centre. Take a Taxi. The bus filled up and therre are only teo tours a day, so book or arrive early. Some people mkissed out. Overall, met expectations but not a must do option.

This tour starts at the tourist centre situated on Durban beach front. The tour takes you to the main places of Durban. You don’t get to stop for many photo opportunities, and it takes a long time. You also don’t get the chance to hop on or off when you wish. The tour guide on board it knowledgable however hard to understand at times.

Good start to the stay in Durban. You got a good overview of the city, but sometimes areas were passed too quickly that would have been interesting to know more about. Fun and good guide, who I sometimes think spliced a bit with the facts. Got me a good laugh though.

Having been on a lot of city sighting seeing bus tours around the world this has to been the worse tour I have ever been on.
Firstly the website does not mention you have pick up the bus from tourist information centre. It took us half an hour trying to find the place before we decided to ask at the tourist information.
The tour it’s self takes you to no place of interest I was hoping for a lot historical places but nothing and why stop at shopping centre for half an hour just cut the tour by that time.
Wish I had saved my money!!!!

Having been a resident in Durban for a good many years, we returned in 2019 to visit family and friends, and not surprisingly found many changes, however this tour did not do the city justice as there were very few historic landmarks pointed out, not enough historic background, and the PA system was very poor. It was an extremely hot day with only a few front seats atop that were covered - thank goodness for my giant-sized hat! The refreshment stop was much to be desired - a one out of 10 for that.
The staff were most friendly and tried to accomodate us in a cooler spot, but to no avail. Sorry I cannot recommend

Did the 3 hours afternoon bus tour, the only one available.
Thoroughly enjoyable showcasing downtown Durban and surrounding areas.
We paid at the bus start point (Tourist Information Centre), much cheaper than booking through an agent.
I dont usually do bus tours but would recommend this one.

The bus was not equipped with the usual headphone system to hear the narration of the tour. It was broken. So there was a live person giving info. However, she informed everyone that they had to sit in the front of the bus in order to hear her. How could that be possible when the bus was full?! Therefore, we just drove around and had to guess on what we were seeing.
The tour was horrible. I should have spent my day in Umhlanga chilling by the water instead. It was a complete waste of time and no one in my group would recommend this tour. There were 2 stops - one to get a photo of a stadium and the other was for 30 mins in a shady area. Here you could go to the restroom or buy KFC or popcorn. I stayed on the bus.
Oh also, everyone had to keep ducking from tree limbs. Very unsafe!
I would not recommend this tour to anyone.

Having read the reviews before going on the bus i did not expect much. Boy, did we enjoy it!! The guide provided a lot of information we did not know. All of us have been to Durban too many times. We took the bus for something different. All of us embarked with plans to get more of our families & friends to try it.
The bus and the office were very ckean. Staff heldul & friendky. We assumed the security guard also kept an eye on our vehicles. Driving was good and the guide fantastic.

Lovely bus tour of Durban. Saw all the major spots in the city and it was good to learn about Durban.
The PA system wasn't working so it's a struggle to hear the guide if u sit at the back but overall it was a good experience

This 3 hour bus trip gives a great overview of what there is to see and do in Durban if you have not been here before. They give an informative guide as ou go along. There is a half hour break stop at a shopping centre for refreshment break.

Sorry for delay in answering, but the ticket office is down by the sea front on the coastal road near the main street. Just google it for exact location. It's easy to find.
