Be aware the African Art Centre is no longer at 15 Station Drive. It is now in the same building as the Phansi Museum, 500 Esther Roberts Road, Glenwood. Both absolutely worth a visit.

Very pleasant atmosphere, and well located in an up-and-coming district. Local beadwork, textiles, and art in several mediums. Good place for browsing, viewing, shopping, or just talking with the local artists.

Internet did not warn us and once we got there, no information was available as to its new location. Dommage.

Excellent shop with high-quality art and crafts. Many unique items not usually found elsewhere. Friendly and knowledgeable staff who will pack things nicely for your trip back home.

All items are a considerable step above the usual stuff in tourist shops and street stands. Prices are fair, and serves a good cause.

Well I left 5 shoppers there . Told them to take their time. Forty five minutes later I had to give them a 5 minute warning . It was hard to get them out of the shop, there were so many interesting items to choice from.

A wide range of curated artisan goods from across KwaZulu-Natal. The show room has many pieces to choose from and also it is possible to custom order pieces via the Centre.

The day I went, I got to see some ladies actually doing bead work there. They have lots of paintings, wood crafts, bead crafts etc. The items are actually hand made by African artists, not factory made, which I appreciate. I bought a couple of small things that were in my budget. If I had the money, there are several things I would have bought.

What a great place to browse and observe local crafts women creating amazing works of art, from beading to sculpting. A great place to not only browse but to also purchase a piece of art or craft which focuses on KwaZulu-Natal tradition.

Visited at the recommendation of our hotel. Drove around a bit to find somewhere to park. Was impressed by the pottery and the jewellery, buying several pieces of beaded jewellery and a small woven pot. During our visit however, not one person spoke to us despite there being at least three people working there. Would have liked a bit more interaction, might have been persuaded to buy more had that been the case.
