I had my elderly mother out for her Birthday breakfast at the little eating place at the park and enjoyed autumn weather under the trees and the beautifully planted gardens. Although we didn't visit the little zoo as such, the bird life and many children from visiting schools rounded off a really pleasant experience. So jolly peaceful and un-rushed.

Took family and kids and my personal observation was the lack of maintenance in what once was a well running family attraction the Kiosk still offers good quality food and Drinks.

Mitchell park holds excellent childhood memories for me. The park is still in excellent condition and there are car guards outside by the restaurant area. The cafe/restaurant has excellent food, although service was a bit on the slow side at first. There is a lovely playground for children and they can provide highchairs. The food was very good.

The zoo in the park has some unusual animals for kids to enjoy. The park itself requires better upkeep and maintenance. We were quite disappointed given that this is Easter and one of the busy times for the KZN province.

Its always a pleasure to visit the small zoo at Mitchelp Park. It seems that since our last visit about 6 months ago, there has been a noticeable increase in new animals to view - Striped Mongoose, Alpaccas and many more We had the amazing privilege of watching one of the tortoises laying eggs - an epic experience... See ya... More

Spent a sunday here with family. It was so peaceful, and enjoyed the free feeling. The zoo animals were also great to see, something for the kids. the play ground needs an upgrade. wouldn't recommend a kid be in there. rather learn more about the wildlife.

With my young grandchildren visiting I looked for some places of interest to take them and Mitchell Park came to mind. Used to visit when my own children were little but haven't been for many years. THE ZOO The negatives are: * No easy to read map handed out showing what animals are in the zoo and where they are... More

Mitchell park is noisy with lots of kids running around. Botanical gardens is mich more relaxing. There is a playground at the park with swings and slides and there is also a little zoo with a small range of animals. Nice park to visit just once. Got great!
