Lovely visit

Great place to visit. We visited with a 4 year old who loved seeing the various small animals, birds etc. The gardens are lovely and very peaceful, only unfortunate thing were... read more

There was a lot of construction going on in the zoo, but we weren't told about this before going in. Lots of areas were roped off. Quite a lot of the cages were empty, and others had no information about the animals inside or had the wrong information. No maps to show you where anything is. A bit disappointing all... More

We were surprised by the super cheap entrance ticket (for a family of 3 it was under R50!) however we did see dead birds in one of the cages, and not very many staff walking around (there were kids throwing balls onto the cages and scaring the animals, kids picking up the baby ducks and chasing away mom/dad) - I... Great place to visit. We visited with a 4 year old who loved seeing the various small animals, birds etc. The gardens are lovely and very peaceful, only unfortunate thing were the few bits of litter we saw and the ponds were a bit murky. There is a small cost, R10/adult, R7/child to see the animals, birds etc and well... More

Mitchell park is very popular with the locals including myself. I go often and take the grandchild as well. Lovely location to set up a picnic and let the children have a ball. Plenty of birds and other animals to see. Very relaxed atmosphere and very cheap entrance fee. Lovely restaurant in the park and the food is delish.

Well planted gardens with gorgeous trees. The disrespect for the environment is pathetic. Could be such a pleasant green city space.

Met friends at the park on a Sunday afternoon. Decent enough place to spend half a day, with a picnic of braai. Certain areas of the park though could be better maintained (grass length) There is a play area for kids, as well as a small zoo. Also places for functions. We had to keep away from some stray monkeys... More

We took a day out to the beautiful gardens and little animal farm they have. We enjoyed the outing as well as the cold beer and carrot cake. It is a beautiful garden with all colours of flowers.

The park is small but well kept, quiet and a pleasing environment. There is a restaurant in the park (Blue Zoo) which has a nice outside area where we had a coffee. The zoo had a very nominal charge to enter and was stocked with all kinds a small animals and birds (great for children). It is well worth a... More

This destination always brings back great memories for me, as a kid, as well as taking my kids! They also have a play area for kids in wheel chairs! it is well maintained, and as much as I would love to see bigger area's for the birds, I do understand they are much bigger than cages at home! All the... More
